Clean and Simple Autumnal Card for PP756

I’m playing along with the Paper Players Clean and Simple Watercolor Challenge. I must say that I hardly ever watercolor. It was always a medium that I never felt that I mastered, so I accepted this challenge to give it another go.

Here’s my card…

The pretty image is from Power Poppy’s Fortunes of Fall stamp set. Isn’t that a great name for a stamp set? I’ve always loved Power Poppy’s images and I’m disappointed that Marcella, the artist and owner, is no longer producing new stamps. She still has a website where you can buy some sets and a wide array of digital stamps.

I stamped the image with Versa-Fine ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder before coloring it with Prisma-Color Watercolor Pencils. This was actually easier than I thought. So I thank Jan for this challenge because I’ll definitely be coloring with these pencils more. Lastly, but not really evident in the photo, I added Wink of Stella to the three pumpkins to add a little “frost on the pumpkins”.

Here’s a peek inside…

Another fun challenge from The Paper Players!

Take care,

Rosanne

  1. Beautiful card, Rosanne. Love it! Enjoy your day!

  2. How great that you’ve taken up the challenge to do some watercolouring, especially when it’s turned out as well as this has. The pumpkins are so sweet. The decorative scored frame is a lovely touch. Thank you for joining in with my CAS Watercolour challenge at The Paper Players.

  3. What a lovely image, and you’ve made it into a wonderful fall card! Your watercoloring is light and gentle, and the way you die cut and framed the image is simple but very effective! Thanks for playing with our challenge this week at the Players!

  4. Beautiful watercoloring! I am so used to coloring with Blends that I forget about that too! Love the added score lines framing the image!
