Way Back Wednesday: From Feathers to Pears

You may have noticed that I’m trying a little something new on the blog. I’ve given each day a theme. It’s given me some direction for each post and is making my card making a little more intentional, along with a little challenge to keep within the parameters of the theme. For today’s theme, I’m going back into my “archives” and pulling a card to revamp using current products.

So let’s start off with the original “way back” card. And when I say way back, this card was the first card I posted on the blog in May, 2015. You can see the post HERE.

I loved those feathers! I also like this layout .

And here’s my updated version…using the new Online Exclusive, Perfectly Pears bundle.

The original card was a standard A2 card. However, my updated card is a white Notecard. I thought the little pear image was more proportionately suitable to a smaller card.

Here’s the measurements...order is from the card base up

Card Base: Basic White Notecard 3 1/2 x 5

Old Olive card stock: 3 3/8 x 4 7/8

Painterly Pears DSP: 3 1/4 x 4 3/4

Old Olive card stock: 4 x 2 3/4

Painterly Peats DSP: 3 7/8 x 2 5/8

Basic White card stock: 2 x 2 1/2

a few little details…

All stamps and dies are from the Perfectly Pears bundle.

The splatters and sentiment are stamped with Crumb Cake ink.

The pears are colored using a variety of current and retired Stampin’ Blends.

Low Profile Sparkle Dots embellish the sentiment label.

This was a fun exercise. I know I’m going to enjoy going back in time each Wednesday to revisit an old card and make it “new” again. I hope you’ll enjoy that, too!

Thanks for stopping in today!
