PPA #270 – Cozy Hello

The challenge at Pals Paper Arts this week is a color challenge.  I must admit that one of the colors, Sahara Sand albeit a pretty plain neutral color is one of my favorites and Blackberry Bliss is definitely high on my list of favorite colors, too.   This being said I still did not have any great ideas for this challenge. Usually when presented with a challenge that has me stumped, I try to choose…

Fall Wreath Pillow Box – GDP 004

Today’s project is my submission to the Global Design Project’s weekly challenge. The challenge this week was to CASE the Artist. Louise Sharpe created this beautiful card that we are inspired by. I haven’t used the new Pillow Box Die that is offered in the Holiday Catalog yet and was anxious to make a project with it. As you can see, I used the same stamp set that Louise used on her card. The pillow…

Halloween Treat Bags

I wanted to get a jump start on making some Halloween treats for some special people both young and old.  These bags will probably go to the older Trick or Treaters. The bags were made with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Die using the Happy Hauntings Designer Series Paper.  They are the perfect size to put a gift card or greeting card along with a candy bar or two.  That’s why the big kids will…

Acorny Hello

Happy Sunday.  It is a typical fall day here in PA…a little cloudy and cool.  Definitely sweater weather today, which I love!  I am having a good time stamping with the Acorny Thank You stamp set, although this is not a thank you note.  I have several older aunts, who are in assisted living facilities and I love to send them several cards a month in between my visits.  This is one I will be sending just to say hello.

This card came together very quickly using the Acorn Builder Punch along with the stamp set.  This is available in a bundle which is always a good value.  The card base is Crumb Cake layered with a piece of DSP from the Into the Woods Designer Series Paper. I cut the circle using the Circles Collection Dies.  Then cut a frame using the same die along with the next larger one in Old Olive cardstock.  The Hello sentiment is from the Perfect Pennants stamp set.

The acorns were punched out using Sahara Sand and Chocolate Chip cardstock and embossed  with a couple of retired embossing folders to give the acorns a little texture and “tied” together with Pumpkin Pie cotton ribbon. By adhering the little cluster of acorns in the center of the circle, it created a 3D effect while also embellishing the inside of the card.

To complete the card, the Crumb Cake envelope was lined with the same Designer Series Paper using the Envelope Liner Framelits.

I hope you enjoyed this little Fall note of hello.  I think my aunts will enjoy these cards, too.  Thanks so much for visiting.  I always welcome your comments and would be most happy to answer any questions.
