I’m back with another Pals Color Challenge.  These colors offer such a soft and pretty presentation.

I wasn’t sure how I was going to use the Tip Top Taupe with the other two colors but since it is more of a neutral it was just worked using it as the card base.

The DSP background paper is from the Pretty Petals stack and always seems to provide the right print of so many of my projects.  The centerpiece is the beautiful Blended Bloom, which I have definitely not used enough.  This flower is really fun to color and blend.  I used the Pool Party Stamp Pad and a blender pen to color the flower and used my Daffodil Delight marker for the flower stamens.  Here is an upclose of the flower.

The background is from the go to Gorgeous Grunge Set.  The front and inside sentiment is from the Birthday Blossoms stamp set.  I used the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits to cut the front sentiment.  I have not really embraced Project Life for scrapbooking, however, the products are so versatile and can be used in so many other ways.  The new Dotted Lace in Tip Top Taupe is a really pretty accent to make this a very feminine birthday card.

Hello…..this weeks Pals Challenge is a fun sketch that really is wide open to interpretation.  Here is the sketch……

Just a warning that this card used a LOT of different products from stamp sets to inks.  That is what made it so much fun.  I was able to pull a lot of different elements from a variety of stamp sets to complete a pretty cohesive project…one of the MANY reasons Stampin’ Up! rocks!

This is a pretty big card at 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″.  I needed to make it this big to highlight all the details I wanted to include.  I will make an envelope using the Envelope Punch Board.  The product list is a the end of this post.  If you have any questions regarding construction of the card, please let me know and I will be happy to fill you in.

I am playing along, once again, with the Pals.  This week’s challenge is a sketch challenge.

 

I reversed the sketch, probably because I am right handed and it felt “right”!  The card is Basic Black with a Very Vanilla mat topped with a beautiful design from the Timeless Elegance DSP collection.

 

The butterfly is cut using both butterfly dies that Stampin’ Up has available now.  The bottom layer is from the Bold Butterfly Framelits and the more intricate two layers are using the Butterflies Thinlits.  The top layer is cut from the reverse side of the DSP just to give it a little interest.  The butterfly body is embellished with pearls.  I stamped the sentiment tag with the honeycomb stamp from the Butterfly Basics set then used Versa Mark and stamp the actual sentiment, also from the same set, and embossed it in black.  And just because I am trying to use more of my Framelit collections, I choose to cut both tags from the Chalk Talk Framelits.  I recently put all my framelits on magnetic sheets and displayed them in my craft room.  You can read about that here.  This has really made a difference when trying to come up with designs.

     

Again, I used a sentiment from the Butterfly Basic stamp set for the inside.  For a little added interest, I used the Bitty Butterfly punch and put a scrap piece of DSP underneath.  The envelope is lined with the same DSP for a finished look.
