A Super Sketch for PPA 284

This week’s Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge really had me stumped for a while….I guess that’s where the “challenge” part comes in! I had no idea where this card was going to come from.  Usually when this happens, I will start with the stamp set but this card starting forming when I found the DSP laying on my desk under a pile of other papers. I love the barn wood look of this paper from…

PPA #270 – Cozy Hello

The challenge at Pals Paper Arts this week is a color challenge.  I must admit that one of the colors, Sahara Sand albeit a pretty plain neutral color is one of my favorites and Blackberry Bliss is definitely high on my list of favorite colors, too.   This being said I still did not have any great ideas for this challenge. Usually when presented with a challenge that has me stumped, I try to choose…

Acorny Hello

Happy Sunday.  It is a typical fall day here in PA…a little cloudy and cool.  Definitely sweater weather today, which I love!  I am having a good time stamping with the Acorny Thank You stamp set, although this is not a thank you note.  I have several older aunts, who are in assisted living facilities and I love to send them several cards a month in between my visits.  This is one I will be sending just to say hello.

This card came together very quickly using the Acorn Builder Punch along with the stamp set.  This is available in a bundle which is always a good value.  The card base is Crumb Cake layered with a piece of DSP from the Into the Woods Designer Series Paper. I cut the circle using the Circles Collection Dies.  Then cut a frame using the same die along with the next larger one in Old Olive cardstock.  The Hello sentiment is from the Perfect Pennants stamp set.

The acorns were punched out using Sahara Sand and Chocolate Chip cardstock and embossed  with a couple of retired embossing folders to give the acorns a little texture and “tied” together with Pumpkin Pie cotton ribbon. By adhering the little cluster of acorns in the center of the circle, it created a 3D effect while also embellishing the inside of the card.

To complete the card, the Crumb Cake envelope was lined with the same Designer Series Paper using the Envelope Liner Framelits.

I hope you enjoyed this little Fall note of hello.  I think my aunts will enjoy these cards, too.  Thanks so much for visiting.  I always welcome your comments and would be most happy to answer any questions.

PPA #267 – A Flowery Feeling

This weeks Pals Paper Arts Challenge is a yummy mix of colors.  This challenge pulled together 3 colors from 3 different color families that work beautifully together.   These three colors really lend themselves to a very cheerful card and that’s exactly what I set out to create.  The focal point of my card is the fun scalloped flowers from the Crazy About You stamp set.  When you talk about a versatile stamp set(if you…
