A Serene Get Well

I recently needed to make a card for a friend who was injured while travelling far from home and is still in the hospital across the country.  Her injuries will required extensive therapy which she is undergoing now.  I wanted to make the card serene looking rather than bold and colorful.

The base is Very Vanilla.  I then stamped a piece of Very Vanilla cut 1/8″ smaller about 3/4 of the way down with the Vintage Leaves stamp set in Sahara Sand ink.  I added a 2″ piece from Timeless Elegance DSP to the bottom.  The ribbon is the 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon in Crumb Cake.  The sentiment is from the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set and cut out using a framelit from the Project Life Cards and Labels set. I find myself using this framelit set very often even though I have not yet jumped on the PL bandwagon.  Lastly, I added a couple of Crumb Cake candy dots to the sentiment to match the ribbon.

The inside sentiment, also from the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set,  is actually two different sentiments aligned on the same clear block.  They said exactly what I wanted to say to my friend.  This set is a must have for those times you need to send a serious get well card or a  sympathy card.  I matted the sentiment on a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock.

The envelope is finished off inside with the same DSP used on the front and on the outside with a few stamped leaves.  These little touches really finish a card off so nicely.  This card design is so versatile and could be used for any number of occasions by substituting the sentiments.  It could also be used as either a feminine or masculine card.

Thanks so much for looking in on my card and please stop by again.

Wishing you a wonderful day…..Rosanne
