Bye, Bye Bordering Blooms

My card share today features a retiring stamp set, Bordering Blooms.  I’ve used this set a few times in the past weeks when I learned it was on the retirement list.  It’s funny how you want something when you know you won’t be able to have it….that’s what happened with this set.  It has sat on my shelf unused for such a long time and now that it’s leaving the catalog, I want to keep creating with it!  I know that I still can, but you get the idea……

The inspiration for this card comes from the Pals Paper Arts #302 sketch challenge.

This is a great sketch to interpret and has so many possibilities.  I used a few already retired elements on this card.  So it has product that is long gone, product that is going and product that is staying.

The focal point is this super sweet sentiment from the Suite Sayings stamp set which will be around at least another year.  I can think of so many reasons to send this sentiment.  I stamped it in Basic Black on Whisper White and punched it with the retiring Note Tag punch.  I also punched two more tags in Real Red and Daffodil Delight and layered them.  Topping the tag is a bow made with Daffodil Delight Cotton Ribbon.

The card base is Whisper White Thick cardstock with a Pear Pizzazz mat embossed with the retired Dots Embossing Folder.  I stamped the image from the Bordering Blooms stamp set on Whisper White and colored it with Stampin’ Write markers in Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz and matted it in Real Red.  Lastly, the little banner on the top of the card is embellished with Real Red Candy Dots.

The inside is stamped and colored again, leaving plenty of room to write a personal note.  I also embellished the front of the envelope with the same stamped and colored image.  It really took no time at all to put this card together!

Thank you for stopping by today and please remember that tomorrow is the last day of the current catalog and then we are unto so many new and fun products.  I know you will be very pleased when you see the catalog, if you already haven’t.  I have my list prepared and ready to order on Wednesday.

Take care,

Rosanne
