Happy Monday! I hope you enjoyed your weekend. I had a busy but fun weekend. I work at a local library and helped put on a Mother’s Day Soap Making Class on Saturday which was a lot of fun. Nothing better than getting to craft at work! Then my 10 month old grandson, Jack, had a sleep over at Nanny and Pop Pop’s house on Saturday night. There wasn’t much sleeping but any time spent with this happy little boy is precious.
I’ve noticed lately that most of my cards have been floral themed, which is fine as I do love flowers and Stampin’ Up! has the best floral stamp sets. But I thought it was time for a little variety. Today’s card came together fast and easy using the Balloon Bouquet Punch and Bubbles and Fizz Designer Series Paper.
I stamped this fun and festive sentiment from the Celebrate You stamp set on Whisper White card stock in Bermuda Bay ink. It really puts the “happy” in Happy Birthday. This set is on the retirement list and will only be available until May 31st.

Then using the balloon punch, I punched a variety of balloons from the Bubbles and Fizz Designer Series Paper collection. Next, I positioned each balloon to determine where to draw the line that would represent the balloon string. The lines are drawn using a ruler and fine point Sharpie pen. I did this one balloon at time. Once all the lines were drawn, the balloons were adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Inside is another fun birthday sentiment. This one is from the Better Together stamp set and is also stamped in Bermuda Bay ink.
A strip of DSP and a few very thin strips of card stock added to the envelope front created a coordinated envelope.
Just a reminder that there’s only a few more day left to take advantage of the 50% off Paper Pumpkin promotion…I can’t wait to see what May’s kit contains!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you’re looking forward to a wonderful week ahead!

Hi Rosanne, I love, love, love this card. I love balloons first of all. They are just happy. Your DSP and colors are so happy. I have never thought to punch out balloons from DSP. I always have solid balloons or stamped on ones. Oh, and I love the envelope, nice change from the flap.
Glad you had a nice visit from Jack.
🙂
Such a fun card! I love it!!
Love it! It looks like the yellow balloon is a bit smaller than the balloon punch and has a different “tied” bottom. How did you create the yellow balloon? Thanks
Your card is gorgeous! How did you create the stitching on the border of the Whisper White layer?
Thank you,Yolanda! I used a set of stitched rectangular dies from Gina Marie Designs. I look for a current link but couldn’t find one so they must be retired as I’ve had them for a long time. Other stamp companies have similar dies, too.
Love your card. I saw a question asking how you created the stitched border, but did not see a response. Could you please shed some light on this…I love the look. Thanks.
Thank you, Marcia! You can see my response below.
Rosanne, what did you use to get the stitching lines around the Happy Birthday card you posted on May 7, 2018. You punched the balloons out of Bubbles and Frizz Designer Series Paper. I have seen the rectangular paper with the stitch lines on several sites, but no one says what they used.
Rosanne, those that asked about the die for the stitched border, I found it on

I contacted Gina Marie Designs and she directed me to this site; just purchased it.
Rosanne, I found this bright, fun birthday card on Pinterest today. I love this card and will be CASEing it soon. I realized this is an older post and your adorable grandson, Jack, will be 3 soon. That is such a fun age. Just a little sponge taking in everything. Enjoy your day!
Oh my goodness, Hilda! Thanks for commenting as I just loved going back to that post to see a smiling, little Jack. He will be 4 in June and will also be getting a baby brother that month.
