Hello again! It’s been a little while since my last post. I guess that means I’m enjoying this long, hot summer…and I am! I’m soaking up a lot of family time before everyone gets busy again going back to school and work. I’m also getting used to the idea that I WON’T be going back to school. Sure not how I’m really feeling about that but sometimes the thought does excite me! Perhaps it will mean more card sharing.
Today I’m sharing a clean and simple, yet pretty birthday card. Lilacs are one of my favorite flowers. Growing up we had a large lilac bush and my Father would cut so many in the month of May for me to take to ALL the nuns at my grade school for their May displays. Needless to say, they loved them and my Father! So even though it’s not lilac season, I can still enjoy stamping them.

I’m using a new to me stamp and die set: Sunny Studios, Lovely Lilacs. This is a multi-step stamp set that creates so many layers of colors to give such a realistic look. Adding the layers was simple using a stamping tool. I’m using the Stamparatus from SU. And once stamped, the coordinating dies make it a cinch to cut. The sentiment is from Gina K’s So Many Sentiments stamp set. The patterned paper is Lawn Fawn’s Flower Market 6 x 6 paper pad. I cut a scalloped border from a Spellbinders Slimline die. Lastly, I added a few sequins for a bit of sparkle and shine.

Here’s a peek inside…I used Gina K’s So Many Sentiments inside, as well.
I’m playing along with the Tic Tac Toe #173 Challenge HERE

I chose the third column down: Sparkle, Ribbon, Flowers
I’ll be back tomorrow with another pretty birthday card. We have lots of summer birthdays in our family. But before I go, here’s a photo (circa 1966) of Dad and I harvesting lilacs for the Sisters.
Take care and stay cool,
Rosanne
