Squarely Tiled with Countryside Inn

I hope you enjoyed your long holiday weekend. Ours was pretty quiet as holidays go but relaxing all the same. I spent a lot of time in the craft room trying to get some cards made. And here’s one of them… I take no credit for this layout as I saw a similar card on Pinterest but there was no watermark to allow me to credit the creator.

I went through my current DSP looking for a pattern that most resembled a tile pattern and came up with this from the Countryside Inn DSP. It reminded me of a Delft Blue tile, which was the look I was going for. I think it’s pretty paired with the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder.

Measurements

  • Basic White Thick Cardbase: 11 x 4 1/4, scored at 5 1/2
  • Night of Navy Card stock: 5 3/8 x 4 1/8
  • Basic White Card stock: 5 1/4 x 4 (cut 2)
  • Countryside Inn DSP

Details

  • Glue Night of Navy panel to the card base.
  • Emboss one of the Basic White panels using the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Cut the embossed panel on a diagonal (refer to the photo for position) and glue to the bottom of the plain white layer. This was easier for me to do rather than try to emboss on the first white panel. You can certainly eliminate the second white panel if you can successfully emboss the first. I was not successful with that!! An added bonus is that you now have another diagonal embossed panel.
  • Cut DSP into 1″ inch squares. The number of squares you’ll need will depend on how you positioned the embossed diagonal panel.
  • “Tile” the top section of the card with DSP squares spacing them evenly and popping them up with dimensionals.
  • Trim the tiles that go beyond the edge of the white panel.
  • Glue the tiled panel to the Night of Navy panel.
  • Using the Wonderful Thoughts Bundle, stamp and cut the sentiment and adhere with dimensionals. I cut an additional one in Night of Navy card stock to “shadow” the stamped sentiment.

I use mostly retired sentiments for the inside of my cards as I have a fairly large! amount of retired sets, so why not used them!

Well that’s all from me for now. Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you are having a good day.

Take care,

Rosanne
