Standing Z-Fold Birthday Card

Since deciding to come back to blogging, I’ve been trying to catch up on all the New Products, Online Exclusives and Last Chance projects…it’s a lot to gather and organize. I’ve been a bit out of the loop and many products have come and gone before I even had a chance to use them. However, I know they’ll eventually get some love. I don’t believe that retired means forgotten, especially since I’m retired, too!

Since the Annual Catalog is now available, I’ll start with a card using the new Florals in Bloom Designer Series paper and the Delightful Wishes bundle.

I take no credit for this fun fold idea. That came from a really fun exercise that my friend, Jeanie Stark is doing called Mystery Monday. Jeanie posts the clues that you follow to create a card and at the end you have a fun and unique fold. Check out all the directions on her blog.

Here’s a better look at the fold…

…and here’s what it looks like unfolded.

Once I did all the indicated paper cuts, I decided to improvise a little and add a few extra layers.

Here are my measurements…

Front Panel and Inside Sentiment

  • Colored Card Stock: 5 3/8 x 2 (cut 2)
  • Front DSP: 5 1/4 x 1 7/8
  • Inside White Card Stock: 5 1/4 x 1 7/8

Inside Back Panel

  • Colored Card Stock: 5 3/8 x 4 1/8

Front Focal Flap

  • Colored Card Stock: 3 3/4 x 3 3/4
  • White Embossed Panel: 3 5/8 x 3 5/8

More Details…

  • Front panel sentiment is from the Delightful Wishes bundle using the dies and the stamp set which is heat embossed in white embossing powder.
  • The Flowers are hand cut from the Florals in Bloom Designer Series Paper and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The dotted embossing folder is from my stash.
  • The inside birthday sentiment is from the (retired) Special Moments stamp set.

I really enjoyed following Jeanie’s directions and adding my own little details to this unique fold. Why not give it a try? If you do, please be sure to share it with me…I’d love to see it!

And also, if you haven’t already done so, take a look at the new Annual Catalog, new Online Exclusives and the deals on the Last Chance List. You can access these by clicking on the catalog image and buttons on the sidebar.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy today. It’s a beautiful spring day here in SE Pennsylvania but tomorrow is supposed to be a totally different story!
