Celebrate Freedom for #tttc294

It’s time for a new Tic Tac Toe Challenge. Take a look at the fun challenge board Cindy created this week.

I chose the bottom row across: Gems, Stencil, Word Die

With Memorial Day designated as the “unofficial” start of summer, we here in the US celebrate a few patriotic holidays. I don’t send out patriotic cards nor do I receive any. However, I do make one each year to display at home. So here’s what I came up with using my limited collection of patriotic products.

The background is stenciled using Papertrey Ink’s Star Stencils. This is a set of two overlaying stencils. I inked them with Simon Says Positively Saturated ink pads in the colors Royal and Cherry. These pads are very nice to stencil with. I really need to practice stenciling more. This is one technique that I find difficult and can never get it right the first time. The sentiment, which is from Tailored Espressions’ Land That I Love stamp set, is stamped in Royal ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. This works well with the Simon Says inks because they’re juicier than other inks so the embossing powder sticks nicely to the image. It’s cut using the coordinating dies. The cute bunting is cut from Papertrey Ink’s Patriotic Dies. Lastly, I added a couple of star embellishments to the sentiment panel.

We’d love for your to head over to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge to see the wonderful projects Team X created. We’d also love for you to join us with your own project. Hope to see you there!

Take care,
Rosanne
