Fall Medley for the Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pals’ Blog Hop! We’re so glad you’re here because we made some great projects for “My Favorite Season”  – showcasing our favorite stamps and supplies for our holiday project.  You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Stampin Up Thanksgiving Card Idea -Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

My favorite season is Fall and my favorite holiday is by far Thanksgiving.  This has been true ever since  I was young. Perhaps then it was because it was the start of the Christmas season.  But now this holiday on it’s own evokes all the good feels for me.  My card today reflects some of what I love about this season.

These type of cards are my absolute favorite to make. I love creating cards with lots of layers and arranging. I also really enjoy hunting down different pieces from various stamp set and dies. It amazing how well these products “play” together.  I used a lot of different products from the Annual Catalog as well as the Holiday Catalog as you’ll be able to see in the Product List below.

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Don’t forget to show us some love by commenting on our creations. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 13th when we showcase projects with layers of DSP and embellishments for any occasion. Don’t miss the fun!

Rustic Tidings All Around Christmas Wreath

The Tidings All Around and Seasonal Wreath stamp sets along with the coordinating All Around Wreaths dies are my new favorites from the Holiday Catalog.  These products are also my featured monthly tutorials that are free with a qualifying order….details below.

I’m starting off with today’s clean and simple rustic Christmas card…

Stampin Up Tidings All Around Christmas Card Idea - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

  • The A2 (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) card base is Real Red card stock.
  • The Early Espresso card stock mat measures 5 1/4″ x 4″.
  • The woodgrain pattern from the Come to Gather DSP collections cut an additional 1/8″ smaller.
  • Keeping this simple, each panel is glued with Tombow Multipurpose glue.

  • The wreath is stamped in Garden Green ink on Very Vanilla card stock.  I recommend using the Stamparatus or another Stamping Alignment tool to ensure even ink coverage.
  • Using the open wreath die, cut the stamped wreath along with 2 additional blank wreaths for layering.
  • Adhere directly to the card.
  • Using the Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker, dot each berry.
  • Stamp the sentiment in the center of the wreath in Versa Mark ink and heat emboss with black embossing powder.
  • The bow is created with retired baker’s twine.  I’m really not opposed to using and showcasing a bit of retired product when it will work on a project.

  • The inside sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set.  This set has 18 wonderful sentiments to get you through the season.
  • Just a strip of DSP and Real Red card stock added to the bottom keeps the simple vibe going on the inside and the front of the envelope.
  • I added another sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas to the envelope.

Flourishing Phrases Fall Mums

Happy Friday!  I hope you have some fun and/or relaxing plans for the weekend.  I’ll be spending a lot of it crafting as I’m getting ready for an upcoming Craft Fair.  I’m also very excited to see Carrie Underwood in concert in Philadelphia tomorrow night.  I’m a big country music fan and have seen a lot of performers in concert but this will be the first time seeing her.  This weekend also promises to be the first “true” Autumn weekend here with much cooler temperatures…I’ll definitely take that!

One of my favorite things about Fall is Chrysanthemums.  I love them and all their pretty colors.  I usually buy them too early in the season and have to replace them just about now but I’m ok with that!  Stampin’ Up! doesn’t have a mum in the current catalogs, so I improvised a bit and used the flower from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and called it a mum.

Stampin Up Flourishing Phrases Thanksgiving Card Idea - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

  • The A2 (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) card base is Merry Merlot card stock.
  • I cut a Come to Gather DSP pattern at  4 1/8″ x 3 3/4″ and placed it so that the bottom and 2 sides were 1/8″ shorter around the card base.
  • Next I cut a piece of Merry Merlot card stock to 4 1/8″ x 1 3/4″ and placed it so that the top and sides were 1/8″ shorter around the card base.  I had a little bit of overlapping.  To rectify that I cut a 1/2″ x 4 1/8″ strip of Cajun Craze card stock to cover the overlap.

Stampin Up Flourishing Phrases Thanksgiving Card Idea -Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

  • I stamped two flowers in each of these colors: Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler ink.  Then hand cut them.  I cut off the outer petals on one of each color and layered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals on top of the full flower.
  • Each flower is then layered on the card with more dimensionals.
  • The sentiment is from the Painted Harvest stamp set and is stamped in Early Espresso ink.

  • The envelope flap is embellished with an embossed piece of Merry Merlot card stock using the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder and glued to the envelope flap.

I really enjoyed using this well loved stamp set again.  Sometimes with all the new products, I sometimes forget to reach for the sets that have been around for a while.  Pairing an older set with new paper and a new embossing folder gave new life to an old favorite!

Tartan Plaid & Tidings All Around

Welcome October!  This is one of my favorite months of the year.  There’s just so much to love about it.  The pumpkins, mums, colorful leaves, crisp air (which hasn’t quite arrived yet) and Halloween.  It’s also my wedding anniversary month as well as the month my first daughter was born.  Halloween was my mom’s birthday, so we always had a fun time celebrating both.

There’s something else to look forward to this month…a new set of exclusive tutorials free with a $40 or more (before shipping & tax) purchase from my online shop.  This month I’m featuring the Tidings All Around Bundle as well as the coordinating, Seasonal Wreaths stamp set.  The bundle features the Tidings All Around stamp set and the All Around Wreath dies.  The dies also coordinate with the Seasonal Wreaths stamp set to give these products added versatility.  They can be used year-round for so many different occasions.  I’m a complete sucker for wreaths of any kind, so when I saw these boy was I excited!   They were one of the first products I purchased from the Holiday Catalog and I’m having a blast creating with them. Once you see the cards in the tutorials, I think you’ll agree that these sets offer so much creative potential.

Tidings All Around Bundle #152371

Seasonal Wreaths #150522

Today’s card is super easy and came together very quickly…and that hardly ever happens for me!

Tidings All Around Christmas Card Idea -Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

I know that the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper is part of the Wrapped in Plaid Suite that features the Perfectly Plaid stamp set BUT this paper also pairs so well with the wreaths in the Tidings All Around and Seasonal Wreath stamp set.

  • The A2 (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) card base is Garden Green card stock.
  • The next layer is Whisper White card stock measuring 5 1/4″ x 4″.
  • The plaid pattern measures 3 1/4″ x 4″.
  • I cut two wreaths from the All Around Wreath die in Garden Green card stock and offset the layering to create a fuller wreath.
  • Before securing the wreath, I wove a piece of Real Red 3/8″ Cotton Ribbon over and under it and wrapped it around the Whisper White/DSP panel and added a bow.
  • The wreath was then glued to the card by just putting small dabs of liquid glue under a few of the leaves.
  • The greeting is stamped in Real Red ink and popped with dimensionals.

Tidings All Around Christmas Card Idea - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

  • I paired two sentiments from the Tidings All Around stamp set for the inside greeting.
  • I like to use a bit of DSP on the inside as well as the envelope to coordinate.

Tidings All Around Christmas Card Idea- Rosanne Mulhern stampinup Right now my desk is covered with these wreaths in all different shades of green and other colors.  I have so many more ideas to use the stamps in both the Tidings All Around and the Seasonal Wreath stamp sets.  I even have a few cards already made that I’ll be sharing throughout the month.
