Still Sunflower Season

Stampin Up Painted Autumn Washi Tape Birthday Card - Rosanne Mulhern

I really can’t seem to get enough of these sunflowers from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper collection.  They are super easy to hand snip and create such a pretty focal point on any card just like today’s birthday card.

Here’s the details

  • The card base is Basic Black card stock with a  Crushed Curry mat cut 1/8″ smaller and a Whisper White mat cut another 1/8″ smaller.
  • Like I mentioned on my last post, I am getting a little hooked on washi tape.  Today I used the Pick a Pattern washi tape from the Annual Catalog to create the geometric background lines.  I used three different tapes for this card. I guess I’m late to the party where this is concerned as I never realized how easy it is to use and what a great impact it can make.

  • Like the card I created HERE, I hand snipped the sunflowers from the Painted Autumn Designer Series paper collection and then glued them to some Basic Black card stock and again had snipped around to create the black border.  I really like the definition it gives to the sunflowers.
  • Each flower is popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The sentiment is from the Happy Birthday, Gorgeous stamp set.

  • The inside sentiment is also from the Happy Birthday, Gorgeous stamp set.
  • A little more washi tape completes the inside of the card.

  • And again with the washi tape on the envelope…

I think this is the perfect late summer, early fall birthday card.

I hope you have a wonderful Monday and a great week ahead.

Take care,

Rosanne

A Metallic May Flower – TTTC#01

I’m a day late with my Tic Tac Toe Challenge card…good thing it’s my “off” week!  Like each week, this week’s challenge board is full of fun and inspiring elements.

I chose the middle row across:  dimension, embellishment, die cut

Stampin Up May Flowers with Year of Cheer Washi Thinking of You Card - Rosanne Mulhern

Here’s the details

  • The card base is Very Vanilla thick card stock.
  • A mat of Champagne foil paper was cut 1/8″ smaller and adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The next layer is Very Vanilla card stock cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″ and glued directly to the Champagne Foil paper.

  • I created the stripes using several spools from the Year of Cheer Washi Tape collection.  This tape is absolutely beautiful with all its metallic patterns.  And it was so easy to line them up against each other.
  • The large flower is cut from the May Flowers framelits in Copper foil and adhered with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  This is one of those dies that cuts so much better using the Precision Base Plate for the Big Shot.
  • The flower center is a White Perfect Accent colored with a copper colored Sharpie.  I used the White Perfect Accents because they had the perfect size to cover the small amount of dimensional that was showing through the die cut.
  • The sentiment is from the new Count My Blessings stamp set and is heat embossed with Copper Embossing Powder.

  • The envelope is embellished with more Washi Tape for a coordinated look.

I love the rich elegant look of this card thanks to the Year of Cheer Washi Tape.  I never considered myself a washi tape “fan” but this collection may have changed my mind. So much so, that my next post will feature a different washi collection…stay tuned!

I hope that you’ll hop over to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge and check out all the creativity from the Design Team as well as those who play along.  And while you’re there, I hope you’ll decide to play along also….we would love to have you!

Thanks for checking in today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Take care,

Rosanne

Painted Autumn with Lots of Love

Stampin Up Painted Autumn Lots of Love Thinking of You Card - Rosanne Mulhern

Today is the first day of school for most of the children in my neighborhood.  Even though I won’t be taking first day pictures or sending anyone on a school bus today, it still feels like Summer is over and Fall has begun.  Today’s card has that “fall feeling” thanks to the colorful pattern from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper.  I completely overlooked this pattern at first until I pulled it out to use a small piece on another card (stay tuned).  Not sure how that happened…this is such a pretty pattern and deserved to be showcased on it’s own card!

The Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper has so many wonderful patterns that can be used well beyond the Fall season.  It can be found in the Holiday Catalog.

  • The bottom panel is also Cherry Cobbler card stock cut at 5 1/4″ x 1 1/2″ and the Designer Series paper mat is cut at 5 1/8″ x 1 3/8″.

Birthday Bloom for TTTC#013

Thursday sure do come around quickly when you’re having fun.  And I am having fun designing for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  Today’s challenge board is packed with so many awesome elements that it was difficult to narrow them down.  Here’s the board we are playing with this week.

My card has elements for a few of the rows/columns:

Top row across:  pink, pattern paper, sequin   Top left diagonal: pink, flower, gold   Middle column down: pattern paper, flower, coloring.  I tried to fill the whole board as some of my team members have down but couldn’t make it happen this time.

Here’s the details

  • I pulled out one of my all-time favorite flower stamps, Birthday Blooms.  I like to think of this flower as a cabbage rose but I’m not really sure.  I only know that it’s bold and beautiful.
  • It’s stamped in Versa Mark ink and heat embossed in gold embossing powder.
  • Using stamp pads and a blender pen made coloring very easy.  The flower is colored in Powder Pink ink and the leaves in Always Artichoke and Pear Pizzazz.
  • It was then fussy cut, which I actually find relaxing.

  • The card base is Powder Pink card stock.  The Whisper White mat is cut 1/8″ smaller and is popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the card base.
  • The beautiful checked paper is from a new paper collection available in the Holiday Catalog, Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper.  It’s cut at 2″ x 5 3/8″.
  • I used another new product from the Year of Cheer Suite, Year of Cheer Washi Tape,  to edge the Designer Series paper.

  • This paper is so pretty and elegant…the picture does not do it justice!
  • I stamped the sentiment, also from the Birthday Blooms stamp set in Versa Mark and heat embossed it in gold.
  • A few gold sequins (non-SU) add to the sparkle.

  • The inside sentiment is stamped with Soft Suede ink.
  • A strip of Designer Series paper and more Washi Tape finished the inside off nicely.

  • A little more Designer Series paper and Washi Tape on the envelope flap makes this a beautifully coordinated card.

I hope that you’ll join us at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge this week.  The design team has some inspiring projects and the creativity by those who enter is amazing.
