A Birthday Beauty

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are looking forward to a good week ahead.  I got to spend Sunday with my new grandson, which was the highlight of my weekend!

I have a fresh and pretty birthday card to share today using the Eastern Beauty bundle….again!  I will be putting this set away for awhile as I did get my pre-order and have started playing with all the new goodies, so please bear with me for one more Eastern Beauty.

Stampin Up Eastern Beauty Bundle Birthday Card - Rosanne Mulhern

Here’s the details

  • The card base is Whisper White thick card stock with a mat of Flirty Flamingo card stock cut 1/4″smaller.
  • The next mat is a pattern from the Eastern Palace Designer Series Paper.  I love the color combination of Flirty Flamingo and Lemon Lime Twist.

  • I really liked how this medallion turned out.  The base is Whisper White card stock cut with the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes framelits.  Then I used several of the framelits from the Eastern Medallions.
  • Pop it! Each medallion is layered with a Stampin’ Dimensional in between.
  • A Rhinestone Basic Jewel finishes it off.
  • A piece of Flirty Flamingo 3/8″ Striped Grosgrain ribbon is wrapped around the Flirty Flamingo and DSP panel before adhering to the card base.
  • The sentiment is from Happy Birthday, Gorgeous stamp set.  I think this is the one new set that I’ve used the most since it came out in the new catalog just for the terrific sentiments and fonts.
  • I punched the sentiment with the new Classic Label punch and popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stampin Up Eastern Beauty Birthday card inside - Rosanne Mulhern

  • I used another great sentiment set, Better Together, for the inside sentiment.
  • Get scrappy! Using some scraps from this project, the inside of the card and envelope are simply embellished.

I made this card for someone who is also fresh (in a good way) and pretty.  Katie was a neighbor of mine for quite sometime.  I actually knew her mother before she was born and my daughters’ were her babysitters.  Well, she’s all grown up now working and living in New York City and now she is an awesome stamper herself and MY stamping friend!

I hope you have a wonderful day and I’ll be back on Wednesday with the Pal Blog Hop.

Take care,

Rosanne

An Eastern Beauty Birthday

Stampin Up Eastern Beauty Birthday Card - Rosanne Mulhern

Again, I pulled out the Eastern Beauty stamp set and coordinating Eastern Medallions thinlits to make this bold and bright birthday card.  I know I’ve mentioned this before but I can’t believe this is another bundle I was on the fence about when it first came out…not sure if I would really like it or use it.  Well, I am happy I jumped off the fence and ordered it!  As far as using it, HERE, HERE and HERE are other examples of projects I’ve created with it.

Here’s the details

  • Whisper White thick card stock is my go-to for making white card bases.  I was really pleased to see that Very Vanilla thick card stock is also now available.
  • A mat of Berry Burst cut 1/4″ smaller and another Whisper White (regular card stock) cut an additional 1/4″ smaller are adhered with tombow glue.
  • Isn’t this a fun sentiment?  The new Celebrate You stamp set only has three stamp images but boy are they sassy!

  • The sentiment is stamped in Dapper Denim ink.

  • A 5″ x 1 1/2″ panel of Dapper Denim card stock provides a nice contrast to the medallions.
  • The medallions are stamped with Berry Burst and Dapper Denim ink and cut using the Medallion thinlits.
  • I glued the two on the right and left hand side directly to the card stock and then popped the middle one with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Finally, I added a few Glitter Enamel Dots and called it a card!  The Glitter Enamel Dots are perfect for adding just a touch of sparkle without overdoing it.  They are also my free gift for orders over $75.00 this month…all that info can be found HERE.

  • The inside sentiment is from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set and again, stamped in Dapper Denim ink.
  • A piece of Color Theory Designer Series Paper adds a bit of interest to the inside as well as the envelope flap.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and can find some time to stamp.  My pre-order came late yesterday, so I’m hoping to crack into some new sets this weekend.  But I’m also hoping to have some time to enjoy a little summertime as there are only as few short weeks left!  Whatever your plans, I hope you have FUN!

Take care,

Rosanne

A Colorful Seasons Thank You – TTTC #009

It’s Thursday and time for another Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  I’m on Team X and it’s our turn show our designs and hopefully inspire you to join in on the fun.  Please check out the my fellow designers and they’re fantastic cards HERE

Here’s the board for this week’s challenge…

I chose the top row across: thank you, sequins, all things round

Stampin Up Color Seasons Thank You Card Idea- Rosanne Mulhern

I just purchased the Colorful Seasons Bundle after initially thinking I really wasn’t that excited about it.  Well, after seeing many beautiful samples I quickly changed my mind and had to have it.  I’m happy to say I have no regrets as this is a fantastic set that will carry you through the entire year and several seasons and holidays.

Here’s the details

  • The card base is Whisper White thick card stock with a mat of Powder Pink card stock cut 1/8″ smaller.
  • A panel of Whisper White card stock is cut another 1/8″ smaller than the Powder Pink layer.
  • Layering Circles framelits created the circle in the center of this panel.
  • I cut and embossed a piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock to fit the circle and adhered it directly to the Pink panel.  I used the Petal Burst embossing folder.
  • Next the Whisper White panel was popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  • The pretty flowering branch was stamped and cut using the Color Seasons stamp set and coordinating Seasonal Layers framelits.  Both are available as a bundle for a 10% savings.
  • I stamped the flowers in Powder Pink, Berry Burst and Basic Black ink.
  • The branch was cut with Soft Suede card stock.
  • The sentiment is from One Big Meaning stamp set and stamped in Basic Black Archival ink.
  • A couple of retired sequins (because they were the perfect color!) created just enough sparkle.

  • Since this is a thank you, I left the inside blank for a personal note but still wanted to add a little bit of “pretty”.  A piece of Designer Series Paper from there Fresh Floral collection and another die cut flower achieved this.

I hope that you’ll consider playing along with the challenge this week.  We are having such a good time and are amazed at the wonderful cards that are being submitted.

My holiday pre-order is due to arrive today.  I’m excited to start creating some Fall projects but I’m not quite ready for Christmas yet.  How do you feel about that?  Are you anxious to start creating for Christmas?  I am definitely a summer person and really sad to see it going by so quickly so I’ll just sprinkle some Fall in throughout August but try to keep it light and summery most of the month.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today…I truly appreciate it!

Take care,

Rosanne

The Ever-Enduring Butterfly Basics

Stampin Up Butterfly Basics Birthday Card Idea - Rosanne Mulhern

Are there sets that you never tire of?  It’s hard to maintain absolute favorites with the introduction of new catalogs that are full of awesome new sets just waiting to push the older sets aside, even though they are still current.  I have a few of these sets that have been around for a few catalog cycles now.  One of them is Butterfly Basics.  This set has everything I love…a great floral, foliage, butterflies, a couple of background stamps and some lovely sentiments in a beautiful font.  This is also one of the few sets that’s available in all three stamp styles…wood, clear and photopolymer.  So whatever your preference is this set can deliver.  It’s no wonder why I love this set and continue to use it!

Here’s the details

  • The card base is Smoky Slate card stock.
  • Next I cut Whisper White card stock at 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and instead of using (wasting) a panel of Basic Black to mat it on, I cut two 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ strips and glued them to either side of the Whisper White panel.

Stampin Up Butterfly Basics Birthday Cards Ideas - Rosanne Mulhern

  • I stamped the floral image twice in Basic Black Archival ink and colored it with Stampin’ Write Markers, then fussy cut both images.
  • Before adhering the flowers to the card, I cut a 7/8″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Basic Black card stock and matted it with a pattern from the Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper which was cut at 3/4″ x 4 1/4″.
  • 1/8″ Whisper White Sheer Ribbon adds a pretty detail.
  • Once I decided where to place this panel, I simply arranged the flowers and then glued the panel on top. This was enough to keep the flowers in place.
  • Since I didn’t want all the flowers glued flat to the card, I added mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to just the larger two flowers and left the smaller flowers floating.  This gives it a fuller 3D look.
  • The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black Archival ink.
  • Looking at the card, I felt it needed a little more pizzazz…so I added a few retired sequins that fit the color palette.  I think I should have only added three but there was no turning back after I adhered them.

Stampin Up Butterfly Basics Birthday Cards Idea - Rosanne Mulhern

  • The inside is simply stamped with another sentiment from Butterfly Basics along with the same floral image that was partially stamped in the corner.
  • A little Designer Series Paper and Powder Pink card stock on the envelope flap and this card is ready to go!

Hope you enjoyed this “old” favorite and if you have this set will think about giving it another go ’round.  I think it has so much life left in it!  If you don’t own this set, it’s definitely one that’s worth considering as there are so many wonderful samples on Pinterest.  If you would like to order this set, I’ve listed all three preferences on my product list below.

It’s August (already!), so that means a new hostess code:  and new incentive gift from me.  Any size order will receive a handmade card from me.  For any order of $60 more, please use the hostess code and I will send you a free package of Glitter Enamel Dots.  I use these a lot and love them!  If your order is $150 or more, DO NOT use this code.  You’ll receive your regular Stampin’ Rewards and I will still send you this gift.  Please make sure when ordering that you do not opt for the No Contact option.  I will need your information in order to mail these out to you.  More information can be found HERE.

Also August is the month that you can redeem any of the July Bonus Coupons you may have earned…don’t forget to do that when ordering!
