A Stepped Up Sunday with Simple Stampin’

Today I’m sharing the “stepped up” version of yesterday’s card.  Today’s card was created by a fellow stamper and friend, Karen Hallam and is featured on our upline, Susan Itell’s blog, Simple Stampin’.  Karen did a fantastic job taking the card I created HERE yesterday and adding just the right touches to take it to the next level of pretty.

Daisy stepped up card

Here are the details

  • Karen added a layer of vellum over the sentiment for a soft and pretty muted look.
  • The 1/2″Powder Pink  Finely Woven ribbon gives more definition to the two different panels used on the front.
  • Adding a few leaves that were stamped from the Daisy Delight stamp set accentuates the daisy.
  • Karen also changed the daisy center from Calypso Coral to Old Olive which makes the flower really pop!

  • The photo above is my “simple” version of this Daisy Delight card.
  • Below is a photo of Karen’s “stepped up” card.  You can see from this card, how a few added details or small changes can make a big difference in the overall look of a card.

I would like to thank Susan Itell for the opportunity to showcase these cards on her blog, Simple Stampin‘ and   Karen Hallam for being a great partner in this fun exercise.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful Sunday.

Take care,

A Saturday Gig at Simple Stampin’

One of the best things about Stampin’ Up! is by far the friendships.  I am so lucky to have a wonderful upline that I’m sure most of you have heard of…Susan Itell.  And through Susan, I’m lucky to know and call some pretty awesome stampers my friends.  One of those special people is Karen Hallam.

When Susan put the call out to her team for the opportunity to be featured on her weekend, Simple Saturday and Step It Up Sunday, Karen and I enthusiastically answered.  Today’s post is my Simple Saturday card that you can also see on Susan’s blog HERE.

Stampin Up Daisy Delight Thank you card idea - Rosanne Mulhern

This card features products from the Delightful Daisy Suite.  The stamp set is Daisy Delight and the coordinating Daisy punch.  The Daisy punch has been so popular and had to be placed on the backorder list several times since it debuted in the Annual Catalog.  However, it’s back in stock again.  So if you’re thinking about purchasing it…now is the time to do so before it goes out of stock again.

Here’s the details

  • The card base is Whisper White thick card stock with a mat of Old Olive cut 1/4″ smaller.
  • The next layer is Calypso Coral card stock and a pattern from the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper.

  • Before adhering the Calypso Coral panel, I stamped the sentiment in Versa Mark ink and heat embossed in White Embossing powder.
  • The Daisy was stamped in Calypso Coral ink and punched once and then punched again in Whisper White card stock and layered.
  • The flower center is punched with the 1/2″ circle punch and lightly coated with clear Wink of Stella for a bit of sparkle.
  • The daisy was then popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  • The inside sentiment also comes from the Daisy Delight stamp set and is stamped in Old Olive ink.
  • A bit more DSP on the inside and the envelope flap makes this project a one of a kind.

Darling Doilies – Tic Tac Toe #008 Challenge

It’s Tic Tac Toe Thursday!  This is one of my favorite blog days because the challenge board always provides so much inspiration and makes the card making so much easier.  Here’s this week’s board…I hope you’ll join in the fun!

I choose the bottom row across:  square, feminine, doilies for my card today.

Stampin up Doilie Birthday Card - Rosanne Mulhern

I simply love doilies, any kind of doilies, so as soon as I saw that I could use them I knew I would.

Here’s the details

  • The card base is Whisper White thick card stock and measures 5″ x 5″.  The Basic Black and Powder Pink mats are cut 1/4″ smaller.
  • The lace doilies are retired, but any kind would work as well.  I glued them down with a light touch of Tombow glue.
  • I colored a few rhinestones with a black sharpie and adhered to the doilie center.

  • The sentiment is from the new Beautiful Bouquet stamp set. This set has it all…pretty flowers and great sentiments in fabulous fonts.
  • The black ribbon is also retired but the new 3/8″ Basic Black Shimmer ribbon would work really well…mine is on it’s way!

  • Another sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet and a hint of doilie make the inside just as special as the outside of the card.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card for the Tic Tac Toe challenge and that you’ll check out all the fabulous creations from this week’s design team.  We would love to have you join us each week.  The challenge boards are always full of fun elements that will surely spark your creativity.
