Flower Shop Birthday

Today’s card has all the elements for a beautifully feminine birthday card.

The card base is Smoky Slate cardstock. The Whisper White mat is cut with a die from the Lots of Labels framelits. I stamped it off center so there was room for the flourish image from the Timeless Textures stamp set and the 3-D flowers.

The Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper frame was created by cutting the next smaller framelit and then the next smaller one in the center.

The sentiment, from the Suite Sayings stamp set is stamped in Smoky Slate ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and then centered in the frame. It is easy to center this before you glue anything down.

The flowers, from the Flower Shop and Petite Petals stamp sets were stamped in Blushing Bride ink and punched using the Pansy and Petite Petals punches. I also punched a flower on Blushing Bride cardstock for a little more definition.

The center of the flower is a circle punched using the Owl Builder punch. It had the perfect size for this flower.

Using a bone folder, I curled the petals up and then popped each on dimensionals.

The inside sentiment is from the Cottage Greetings stamp set.

A Good Luck Charm – PPA#313

The Pals Paper Arts color challenge this week presents just the sweetest color combination….

My card features the new stamp set, Paisleys & Posies, from the Holiday Catalog. Without a doubt, this is my favorite set in the catalog.

The card base is Whisper White thick cardstock with a mat of Tip Top Taupe cardstock.

The images from the Paisleys & Posies stamp set are stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock in Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Tip Top Taupe ink.

I added a strip of 5/8″ Mini Striped Ribbon before layering the banner using the Banner Triple Punch.

The “charm” is created using the coordinating Paisley Framelit Dies and the Layering Circle Framelits. It’s popped up with Dimensionals and an In-Color Enamel Shape added to the center.

Lastly, I stamped the banner and the sentiment from the Banners For You stamp set and cut it out with the Bunch of Banners Framelits.

Just a little additional stamping on the inside with a sentiment from the Marquee Messages stamp set.

This card is going to my daughter, Emily. She is a school teacher and has been teaching Blind and Visually Impaired students for the past 5 years. This year she is moving to a new school and is very excited to be teaching 5th grade.

A Swirly Scribble Note

Today’s card was inspired by the Stamp, Ink, Paper color challenge…

The Swirly Scribbles Thinlits create such fun and whimsical flowers on this notecard.

The card base is Whisper White thick cardstock with a mat of Smoky Slate and Whisper White cardstock.

The flower swirls were cut from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits in Elegant Eggplant and Perfect Plum cardstock. The leaves are from the Paisleys and Posies stamp set in the upcoming Holiday Catalog and were stamped in Old Olive ink on Pear Pizzazz cardstock.

I added a little “grunge” stamped in Smoky Slate ink with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set along with the sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set which is stamped in Elegant Eggplant ink.

A few sequins add the finishing touch.

The inside is embellished with DSP from the Subltes Designer Series Paper Pack in Perfect Plum.

The same DSP is added to the envelope flap.

These swirly flowers would be such fun in so many different colors. I will be making a few more of these cards in some other color combinations…just for the FUN of it! I hope you will too.

Sending Love for PPA #312 & GDP48

Today’s card is for the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge and the Global Design Project’s Case the Designer challenge…..

My finished card looks nothing like the idea I had when I started this card. I actually started this last week and didn’t have time over the weekend to finish. When I sat down today to finish it, I wasn’t really happy about my original idea. So this card happened instead….

The card base is Smoky Slate and the DSP is from A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Pack. The more cards I make using Smoky Slate, the more I like it’s softness and subtleness and this DSP pack has some wonderful patterns in that color.

The sentiment is from the Designer Tin of Cards stamp set and is stamped in Calypso Coral. I cut it out in Whisper White and Smoky Slate using the Layering Circles framelits.

The balloons were punched using the Balloon Bouquet punch in Calypso Coral and Pool Party cardstock and then embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder for a little texture. The balloon strings are from the Balloon Celebration stamp set. Finally, I added the little hearts from the Subtles Enamel Shapes Collection to each balloon.
