Sending Love for PPA #312 & GDP48

Today’s card is for the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge and the Global Design Project’s Case the Designer challenge…..

ppa312  GDP048

My finished card looks nothing like the idea I had when I started this card.  I actually started this last week and didn’t have time over the weekend to finish.  When I sat down today to finish it, I wasn’t really happy about my original idea.  So this card happened instead….

The card base is Smoky Slate and the DSP is from A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Pack.  The more cards I make using Smoky Slate, the more I like it’s softness and subtleness and this DSP pack has some wonderful patterns in that color.

The sentiment is from the Designer Tin of Cards stamp set and is stamped in Calypso Coral.  I cut it out in Whisper White and Smoky Slate using the Layering Circles framelits.

The balloons were punched using the Balloon Bouquet punch in Calypso Coral and Pool Party cardstock and then embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder for a little texture.  The balloon strings are from the Balloon Celebration stamp set.  Finally, I added the little hearts from the Subtles Enamel Shapes Collection to each balloon.

Isn’t the inside sentiment so cute?  This is also from the Designer Tin of Cards stamp set and is so perfect for this card.

Another pattern from A Little Foxy DSP for the envelope flap and this card is ready to send to someone very special.

Thanks so much for stopping in today and please check back again soon.

Take care,

Rosanne

Jar of Love-ly Butterflies

August is here already…how fast is this summer going?  I guess that means we are all having fun, because that’s when time flies!  The Holiday Catalog has been released to demonstrators and it is chock full of wonderful products but my card today will tell you that I am still very much in summer mode.  I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches #246 challenge…

FMS Final 248-001

One of my favorite sets in the Annual Catalog is the Jar of Love stamp set and the coordinating Everyday Jars framelits.  I’ve used them here  and here and again today.

The card base is Whisper White thick cardstock with a mat of Daffodil Delight and a pattern from the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper.

A band of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon gives some texture as well as a little vintage charm.

The jar is stamped in Soft Suede ink and cut with the Everyday Jars framelits with a window sheet added to create the look of a glass jar.  I popped it up with the new Foam Adhesive Strips.

The butterflies, from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set are stamped in Basic Black and colored with Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write markers.  They’re easily punched with the Bitty Butterfly punch.  Using mini glue dots to adhere them allowed their wings to lift from the card for a 3-D effect. The jar lid is stamped in Real Red ink.

These sweet little butterflies can now fly out of the jar and enjoy the rest of the summer too!

I hope that you are having a wonderful summer and will stop back again soon!

Take care,

A Jar of Love Hello

Wow…my second post of the day. That’s because I fell a bit behind on the challenges this week and the Type A personality in me would not just say…oh well!

This card will be entered into the Stamp, Ink, Paper #58 sketch challenge and the Pals Paper Arts #311 color challenge….

SIP-Challenge-58  PPA311

Here’s what I came up with….

Watermarked Photo 1 (2016-07-31-1613)

The card base is Whisper White thick cardstock.  The mat is Smoky Slate cardstock, which I embossed the bottom with the Woodgrain embossing folder.  The Marina Mist band is also embossed using the Elegant Dots embossing folder.

Watermarked Photo 2 (2016-07-31-1613)

The tag is cut from the Lots of Labels framelits.  I stamped the Smoky Slate DSP with the Hardwood stamp in Smoky Slate for a little detail.  I actually got the idea from a sheet of patterned paper I saw in a craft store and thought why not make my own.  It is actually almost identical. The Jar of Love and the Everyday Jars framelits take center stage on the polka dot tag.  The little sentiment is from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set and is stamped in Marina Mist ink.

Watermarked Photo 3 (2016-07-31-1614)

Just a few strips of DSP and cardstock with two sweet little flowers complete the inside.

Well that’s my little hello card…I think I just made it under the wire for one of the challenges…whew!

Thanks again for stopping by…AGAIN!

Take care,

Rosanne

BeYOUtiful Congrats

Hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer weekend.  Mine has been the perfect combination of sun and rain.  I went to a fabulous outdoor concert on Friday night and the weather was perfect.  Yesterday started out nice and sunny but turned very stormy in the afternoon, which just sent me to the craft room.  So no complaints there either!  Today is supposed to be more of the same.  As a gardener, I never complain about rain in the summer.

Today I am playing along with the Global Design Project’s #046 sketch challenge….

GDP046

This is a pretty wide open sketch for interpretation and I was in need of a special congratulations card, so this is what I came up with….

Watermarked Photo 1 (2016-07-31-1224)

The card base is Calypso Coral cardstock with a mat of Whisper White stamped with the Hardwood stamp in Sahara Sand ink.

Watermarked Photo 2 (2016-07-31-1224)

I love this flower spray from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set and don’t even mind fussy cutting it out.  I colored the flowers using Calypso Coral and Old Olive Stampin’ Write markers and added tiny rhinestones to the center of each flower.  To keep true to the sketch, I added a small butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set, also colored with markers and a little Wink of Stella (which really is not evident in the photo, but it’s there and adds just the right amount of detail).

FullSizeRender

The sentiment is from the Flower Patch stamp set and is stamped in Old Olive ink.  I backed the sentiment with a piece of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon which works well against the woodgrain background.  A little snipped flower and a few leaves finish it off.

The inside sentiment is from the Tin of Cards stamp set and is stamped in Old Olive ink.

I am happy to send this card to someone very, very special as she is so deserving of these congratulations and has worked so hard to achieve a professional goal.

Thanks so much for checking in today and I hope that you have a wonderful Sunday.

Take care,

Rosanne
