A Batty-ful Wreath

stampin-up-wondrous-wreath-halloween-card-idea-rosanne-mulhern-stampinup

Today’s fun Halloween card calls on an old favorite stamp set, Wondrous Wreath along with a fun new set, Spooky Fun.  Both sets have coordinating dies that make cutting them out a snap.

Here are the Details:

  • I really enjoy looking for alternate ways to use stamp sets.  This is the first time I’ve used the Wondrous Wreath stamp set for Halloween!
  • The wreath is stamped in Tangerine Tango ink and cut out using the Wonderful Wreath framelits.
  • The cute little bats are cut in Basic Black cardstock with the Halloween Scenes Edgelits.  A little clear Wink of Stella gives them a pretty sparkle.
  • The sentiment is from the Spooky Fun stamp set and is heat embossed in white.

  • The inside sentiment is also from the Spooky Fun stamp set.

35 Wonderful Years

stampin-up-number-of-years-anniversary-card-idea-rosanne-mulhern-stampinup

My husband, Steve and I are celebrating our 35th Anniversary today.

Here are the details:

  • The card base is Very Vanilla with a mat of Cajun Craze and a pattern from the Petals & Paisleys DSP.
  • I used the largest banner from the Banner Framelits to cut a banner in Very Vanilla cardstock. Then cut the numbers from the Large Number Framelits.
  • Backing the numbers with Copper Foil paper give just the right shine.

  • Both the front and inside sentiments are from the Number of Years stamp set.  I altered the front one just a bit.

I usually labor over cards masculine cards but this one came together surprisingly quickly.

The layout for this card came from the Freshly Made Sketches #256 Challenge.

I’m sure most people would agree that the years truly do fly by.  It seems like yesterday until I saw how we’ve aged!

A Special Thanks

Today’s card is pulling double duty as I am entering it into the Global Design Project #55 theme challenge and the Pals Paper Arts #320 sketch challenge.

My card today is actually a thank you note for a random act of kindness that was shown to me…

Clean and simple cards do not come easy to me, so I was very pleased that this one worked out as well as it did.

Here are the details:

  • The card base is Very Vanilla and the mat is also Very Vanilla cut 1/4″ shorter.
  • I used the small leaf framelit from the Paisley Framelits Dies and cut a column of leaves.  HINT:  place the sentiment first to determine the leaf placement.
  • The sentiment is from the Floral Phrases stamp set and is stamped in Cajun Craze ink.
  • The panel underneath the leaves was sponged with Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler and Crushed Curry ink and glued to the card base.
  • The leaf panel was popped up using Foam Adhesive Strips down each long side.

  • The inside is embellished with a few little stamped leaves…just the perfect touch for a blank notecard.
  • The envelope is also embellished with a panel of stamped leaves.

A Little Christmas Magic for Merry Monday #215

Happy October and Happy World Card Making Day (if you haven’t already heard!).  Wow…a day to do just what most of us probably do several times a week or even on a daily basis.  We certainly don’t need a special day but why not?!

Today, I am entering a new-to-me challenge.  I follow many stampers who make such beautiful Christmas card year-round by participating in the Merry Monday weekly challenge.  Here is this week’s color challenge….

215

While I love the traditional Christmas colors, it is always fun to see something a little different and fresh.  These colors fit that bill.

Here are the Details…

  • The card base is Whisper White thick cardstock with a mat of Flirty Flamingo.
  • The DSP is from the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper Pack…looks like snow to me!
  • To create the winter scene, I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock free hand to look like a snow mound, then ran it through the Big Shot with the Softly Falling embossing folder.
  • The picket fence was created using the Halloween Scenes Edgeless Dies.  I am always happy when I can find additional uses for a holiday product and this was perfect for this card.
  • The sweet little snowman is certainly the star of the card.  He is stamped in Basic Gray Archival Ink and colored just a bit with Stampin’ Write Markers.  I fussy cut and popped him up with dimensionals.
  • The star/snowflake was a happy accident.  It was leftover from a stocking I cut out using the Christmas Stockings Thinlits Dies.
  • The sentiment is stamped in Versa-Mark, embossed in Silver embossing powder and cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies.

  • The inside of the card is stamped with another cute image from the Christmas Magic stamp set and colored with markers.
  • The sentiment is also from the same stamp set.  This set has such sweet images as well as sentiments which make it the “complete package” in my book!

I have so many more ideas for this set!
