Thankful for You and Vintage Leaves

Happy Monday….today I am playing along with the Pals Paper Arts #321 color challenge…

ppa-321-oct06

This color palette screamed Fall to me, so I brought out the Vintage Leaves stamp set to create today’s card.

This card is very clean and simple and came together very quickly.

Here’s the details:

  • The A2 (4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″) card base is Very Vanilla with a mat of Elegant Eggplant cut 1/8″ smaller.
  • The leaves are stamped on another piece of Very Vanilla in Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry.  I used a mask cut from a Notestix to achieve the overlapping look of the leaves.
  • The sentiment is from the Sheltering Tree stamp set and is stamped in Elegant Eggplant.

  • I kept the inside blank for a personal note and just added the same cardstock panels that are on the front.

  • I always embellish the envelope.  This time it was just stamped with a matching leaf.  This is so quick and easy and really let’s the recipient know that there is something special waiting inside!

I hope that your week is off to a good start and that you are enjoying a little Fall where you are.  Thanks for checking in on my card today.

A Batty-ful Wreath

Today’s fun Halloween card calls on an old favorite stamp set, Wondrous Wreath along with a fun new set, Spooky Fun.  Both sets have coordinating dies that make cutting them out a snap.

Here are the Details:

  • I really enjoy looking for alternate ways to use stamp sets.  This is the first time I’ve used the Wondrous Wreath stamp set for Halloween!
  • The wreath is stamped in Tangerine Tango ink and cut out using the Wonderful Wreath framelits.
  • The cute little bats are cut in Basic Black cardstock with the Halloween Scenes Edgelits.  A little clear Wink of Stella gives them a pretty sparkle.
  • The sentiment is from the Spooky Fun stamp set and is heat embossed in white.

stampin-up-number-of-years-anniversary-card-idea-rosanne-mulhern-stampinup

My husband, Steve and I are celebrating our 35th Anniversary today.

Here are the details:

  • The card base is Very Vanilla with a mat of Cajun Craze and a pattern from the Petals & Paisleys DSP.
  • I used the largest banner from the Banner Framelits to cut a banner in Very Vanilla cardstock. Then cut the numbers from the Large Number Framelits.
  • Backing the numbers with Copper Foil paper give just the right shine.

  • Both the front and inside sentiments are from the Number of Years stamp set.  I altered the front one just a bit.

I usually labor over cards masculine cards but this one came together surprisingly quickly.

The layout for this card came from the Freshly Made Sketches #256 Challenge.

I’m sure most people would agree that the years truly do fly by.  It seems like yesterday until I saw how we’ve aged!

A Special Thanks

Today’s card is pulling double duty as I am entering it into the Global Design Project #55 theme challenge and the Pals Paper Arts #320 sketch challenge.

My card today is actually a thank you note for a random act of kindness that was shown to me…

Clean and simple cards do not come easy to me, so I was very pleased that this one worked out as well as it did.

Here are the details:

  • The card base is Very Vanilla and the mat is also Very Vanilla cut 1/4″ shorter.
  • I used the small leaf framelit from the Paisley Framelits Dies and cut a column of leaves.  HINT:  place the sentiment first to determine the leaf placement.
  • The sentiment is from the Floral Phrases stamp set and is stamped in Cajun Craze ink.
  • The panel underneath the leaves was sponged with Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler and Crushed Curry ink and glued to the card base.
  • The leaf panel was popped up using Foam Adhesive Strips down each long side.

  • The inside is embellished with a few little stamped leaves…just the perfect touch for a blank notecard.
  • The envelope is also embellished with a panel of stamped leaves.
