A Little Tea Time

Good Morning….since the temperature here in PA is 13°, I’m sending some WARM thoughts your way with my card share today.

Stamp Ink Paper Card Maker’s Choice challenge was my inspiration for today’s card.

I’ve had this cute little stamp and die set for a few months and not sure what took me so long to  create with it.  It’s called What the Doodle: Tea Time from Papertrey Ink.  Anyone who knows me, knows I love tea and all things tea related so this sweet tea cup was just my “cup of tea”!

Here’s the Details:

  • The Soft Sky card base measures 5″ x 5″ and each subsequent layer is 1/8″ smaller.
  • The teacup is layered on 1/2 doilie and Blushing Bride satin ribbon.
  • The coloring was done using the Subtles Stampin’ Write Markers. After coloring the tea cup, the swirly steam and medallion, I cut them using the coordinating dies.
  • It’s the Little Things!  To sweeten this little cup, I added some tiny pearls.
  • The sentiment was cut using Lot of Labels framelits and an Enamel Shape from the Subltes collection was added.

  • The inside was largely left blank to write a personal note, but if you follow me regularly you know that I enjoy embellishing the inside of the card and the envelope almost as much as the front.  So I added a little sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and an image from the Tea Time stamp set.

  • Since this isn’t a standard sized card, I used the Envelope Punch Board to create one.
  • Hint:  I purchased a ream of 80 lb. text paper from my local office supply store to use to make envelopes.  It is a bit heavier than regular copy paper but not too heavy to add extra postage.  It’s also heavy enough that you can’t see through it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you have a lovely Sunday.

Take care,

Rosanne

A Merry Moose

Stampin Up Jolly Friends Christmas card idea - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

Even though we are in the final stretch for Christmas, I’m still having fun creating Christmas cards.  And this card was a LOT of fun to make.  I admit that the only reason I bought the Jolly Friends stamp set was for this adorable moose.

Here are the Details:

  • The card base is Crumb Cake with a mat of Basic Black and a pattern from the Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper collection.

  • The wreath is stamped using the Wondrous Wreath stamp set and coordinating Wonderful Wreath framelits.  This set is one of my all-time favorites that I will never tire of using.
  • Mr. Moose was stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and fussy cut.
  • The sentiment comes from the Star of Light stamp set and the banner is from the Number of Years stamp set.  Both of these sets are photopolymer which made it easy to stamp the sentiment inside the banner.
  • Everything! is popped up with dimensionals.

  • The inside sentiment is from the Holly Jolly Greetings.
  • Adding the DSP to the inside and envelope is a great way to use those extra strips that you would probably just throw away and really creates a perfectly coordinated card.

I hope you are winding down on your holiday preparations and will have some time to relax and enjoy yourself…perhaps by making a card!

Take care,

Rosanne

Candlelight Christmas

Happy Monday and since this is my first post in December….Happy December, too!  I’ve been busy preparing for a couple of craft shows and now that they are over, I am in full Christmas mode.  Hope you are not over Christmas yet as I feel like there are so many great Christmas sets that I haven’t given enough attention to and will be correcting that over the next couple of weeks.

This card was a lot of fun to make.  I had the image in my mind for sometime and was really happy to pull it all together using all current Stampin’ Up! products.

Here’s the Details:

  • The A2 (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) card base is Very Vanilla with a mat of Cherry Cobbler cut 1/8″ shorter.
  • The envelope flap is covered in a piece of Designer Series Paper from the This Christmas collection.

  • The candles are stamped with an image from the Timeless Textures stamp set and heat embossed in gold embossing powder.  I also added an additional image from the same set for a little more vintage-y look.  This was stamped very lightly in Crumb Cake.
  • The candle flames are a leaf image from the Garden in Bloom stamp set that was stamped in Delightful Dijon ink on Delightful Dijon cardstock then coated with Clear Wink of Stella for the glow.
  • The shine behind the candle flame is an image from It’s a Celebration stamp set available only until the end of the month in the Holiday Catalog.  It’s also heat embossed in gold.
  • The greenery was cut in a variety of green colored cardstock along with a bit of Soft Suede.  I’ve listed the colors used in the supply list at the end of the post. Pretty Pines thinlits and the Flower Fair framelits were used for the foliage.
  • The Cherry Cobbler bow was the perfect finishing touch.

  • I kept the inside very simple but I think the sentiment, from the Christmas Pines stamp set is just right for this card!
