Candlelight Christmas

Happy Monday and since this is my first post in December….Happy December, too!  I’ve been busy preparing for a couple of craft shows and now that they are over, I am in full Christmas mode.  Hope you are not over Christmas yet as I feel like there are so many great Christmas sets that I haven’t given enough attention to and will be correcting that over the next couple of weeks.

This card was a lot of fun to make.  I had the image in my mind for sometime and was really happy to pull it all together using all current Stampin’ Up! products.

Here’s the Details:

  • The A2 (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) card base is Very Vanilla with a mat of Cherry Cobbler cut 1/8″ shorter.
  • The envelope flap is covered in a piece of Designer Series Paper from the This Christmas collection.

  • The candles are stamped with an image from the Timeless Textures stamp set and heat embossed in gold embossing powder.  I also added an additional image from the same set for a little more vintage-y look.  This was stamped very lightly in Crumb Cake.
  • The candle flames are a leaf image from the Garden in Bloom stamp set that was stamped in Delightful Dijon ink on Delightful Dijon cardstock then coated with Clear Wink of Stella for the glow.
  • The shine behind the candle flame is an image from It’s a Celebration stamp set available only until the end of the month in the Holiday Catalog.  It’s also heat embossed in gold.
  • The greenery was cut in a variety of green colored cardstock along with a bit of Soft Suede.  I’ve listed the colors used in the supply list at the end of the post. Pretty Pines thinlits and the Flower Fair framelits were used for the foliage.
  • The Cherry Cobbler bow was the perfect finishing touch.

  • I kept the inside very simple but I think the sentiment, from the Christmas Pines stamp set is just right for this card!

Thanks so much for looking in on my card today.  I hope you’ll hang in there with me as I feel like I’m just getting started here with Christmas.  I’m definitely not one to rush the season…I still have my Fall decorations up!

Take care,

Get Well Wishes

stampin-up-flower-patch-get-well-card-rosanne-mulhern

Today’s card share is a Get Well card that is sure to make anyone feel better.  I guess any woman or girl, as it is a bit feminine.

I used two challenges to draw my inspiration from…

gdp057 ppa-322-oct13

Here are the details:

  • The card base is Whisper White thick cardstock with a mat of Rich Razzleberry.
  • The DSP, cut in 1/2″ strips, is from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Pack.

  • The cheerful flower spray is made from the Flower Patch stamp set and Flower Fair framelit dies along with the Jar of Love stamp set and Everyday Jars framelits.  I did have to fussy cut the fern-like leaves but they are so lacy looking once they are cut out that it was worth the effort.
  • The petite sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and cut out using the Bunch of Banners framelits.

  • The inside sentiment is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink.

I really enjoyed making this card and loved both the color combination and the sketch.  I hope you enjoyed it as well.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Garden in Bloom Birthday

stampin-up-garden-in-bloom-birthday-cards-idea-rosanne-mulhern-stampinup

Today’s cheerful birthday card features Stampin’ Up’s Garden in Bloom stamp set.  I’ve had this set since it first came out in last year’s catalog and this is the first time using it.  Not sure what I was waiting for!

The color inspiration for this card came from The Paper Player’s color challenge…

pp316

My first inclination was a Halloween card but as you can see I went in a totally different direction.

Here’s the details:

  • The  card base is Basic Black with a thin strip of Pumpkin Pie glimmer paper on each side of the Whisper White panel.
  • The flowers are stamped in Pumpkin Pie and leaves in Wild Wasabi.  Since Garden in Bloom is a two-step stamp set, I stamped off once to fill in the flowers.
  • I created a mask by stamping the outline stamp on a Post-It note and cutting it out.  Using a Post-It allows the mask to adhere to the cardstock and prevents it from shifting during stamping.
  • The sentiment is from the Birthday Bloom stamp set and is stamped in Basic Black Archival ink.
  • A few sequins from the Metallics Sequins Assortment finish off the front.

  • The inside sentiment is from the Cottage Greetings stamp set.
  • A panel of Pumpkin Pie Designer Series Paper and Basic Black gives a little added interest to in the inside as well.

Thanks for looking in today.
