A Very Valentine

Good Sunday to you.   I had such good intentions to get my challenge cards done in a timely manner this week and that just did not happen.  So yesterday I had the opportunity to sit down for awhile to craft and decided to make one card for a few challenges…which is quite a challenge itself.  Here is who I am playing with…..

GDP020 SIP-Tic-Tac-Toe-32-800

PPA-285-Jan28-1

So needless to say, this card really had to go the distance for me.

I think I covered all the bases here.  I cased the Heart from the #GDP020 Case the Designer, choose the vertical column on the right (heart, pink, bling) from the SIP#32 Tic Tac Toe and followed the PPA color challenge.

The absolute star of this card is the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlit Dies.  To be honest, I was not completely sold on this at first but I did love the Bloomin’ Love stamp set and these were offered as a bundle as well as individually.  I can NOT pass up a bundle and I am so glad I didn’t.  This thinlit is perfect not only for Valentine’s Day but also weddings, anniversaries, birthdays….

The inside sentiment and the images on the envelope are from the Bloomin’ Love stamp set.  As you can see, this bundle had everything I needed to create a pretty special Valentine card.

Hope you enjoyed this card.  I am really going to try to get my act together with these challenges, however, this last minute “fire drill” turned out pretty well.

Thanks so much for looking in on my project today.  If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know.  I do appreciate your comments.

Happiest of Birthdays

Well today we are digging out of 2 feet of snow thanks to Jonas!  But at least it is bright and sunny…really bright with all the white stuff on the ground.  I look at it like we are one less snowstorm until Spring!

Today I am entering in two challenges.  A sketch challenge for Mojo Monday and a theme challenge for StampInkPaper.

Mojo431 (1)SIP-Challenge-31-Birthday-Theme-800

I chose to make a soft feminine birthday card mostly because I simply love the DSP from the Love Blossoms Paper Stack and thought that this particular pattern was so pretty.

The beautiful flower, I think it is a cabbage rose, from the Birthday Blossoms stamp set in the Occasions Catalog takes center stage on this card.  I heat embossed it with white embossing powder and then colored it in using Blushing Bride, Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz ink and my blender pen.  I also heat embossed the sentiment which is also from this set.

Here is a close up of the flower

The inside sentiment is from the Cottage Greetings stamp set in the Annual Catalog.  I think the font coordinates very nicely with the sentiment on the front of the card even though they are from two different sets.

And to pull the whole card together, I just embellished the flap of the envelope with DSP.  I just decorate the flaps when using designer series paper that I particularly love for two reasons.  First, it can be seen from the outside and before the envelope is torn open and secondly, because I am usually trying to hoard the paper and get a little stingy with it because I don’t want to use it all up.

Thanks very much for taking a peek at my project today.  I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.

A Super Sketch for PPA 284

This week’s Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge really had me stumped for a while….I guess that’s where the “challenge” part comes in!

PPA-284-Jan21

I had no idea where this card was going to come from.  Usually when this happens, I will start with the stamp set but this card starting forming when I found the DSP laying on my desk under a pile of other papers.

Watermarked Photo 1 (2016-01-22-1831)

I love the barn wood look of this paper from the Farmers Market Designer Series Paper.  I then turned to what is probably my favorite stamp set in the whole annual catalog, Butterfly Basics, for the flower image.

Watermarked Photo 5 (2016-01-22-1833)

I colored it using Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz ink and a blender pen.  The sentiment is from the Sheltering Tree stamp set and the small butterfly is from Papillon Potpourri set punched with the bitty butterfly punch. I stamped all the images and sentiments with Chocolate Chip ink to coordinate more with the wood background.

The sentiment on the inside is also from the Butterfly Basics stamp set.The pink DSP is from the Love Blossoms Paper Stack.  This card can be used to a variety of occasions from a simple hello, get well or even a birthday.  I like to have a few of these kind of cards on hand.

I hope you have a very relaxing weekend and get to spend some time crafting.  We here in PA are expecting the blizzard they’ve named, Jonas any minute now.  Hopefully, it will just be a lot of snow which we can deal with.  However, they are predicting very high winds and power outages.

Take care,

Rosanne

Loved (A Lot)

Happy Monday.  I hope you are keeping warm where you are.  We are finally experiencing winter here in SE Pennsylvania.  The temperature is below freezing and they are starting the throw the word “snow” around.  So I will be holed up in my craft room until spring….wouldn’t that be NICE!

Today my card is for two challenges.  It’s a Color Challenge at Pals Paper Arts and a Theme Challenge at the Global Design Project….

PPA-283-Jan14GDP019

I know that the Love theme can be all about Valentine’s Day but I decided to make my card a little more generic.  This card can be sent for any reason at all…

Watermarked Photo 1 (2016-01-18-1345)

This card also gave me the opportunity to ink up the new Grateful Bunch stamp set.  I do love floral sets and can not seem to have enough as each set seems to be so uniquely beautiful.  This set also has a coordinating punch, which just adds to its usefulness.

Watermarked Photo 4 (2016-01-18-1346)

I stamped the large flower in this set twice and the set of three flowers once.  The large flower needs to be hand cut and the other three fit perfectly in the punch and can be punch all at once.  The flowers were colored using Melon Mambo ink and a blender pen.   After coloring and cutting, I stacked the layer of flowers, using a dimensional in between a few of the layers.  I used a total of three dimensionals for the entire flower.  This really gives it a “POP”! The leaves are stamped in Mint Macaron and the sentiment in Basic Black.

The DSP I used is from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack in the Annual Catalog.

Watermarked Photo 3 (2016-01-18-1346)

I love this sentiment from the Suite Sayings stamp set in the Occasions Catalog.  I have used this set on almost every card I’ve made since I bought it.

Thanks very much for popping in on my card share today.  I hope you have a wonderful day!
