Loved (A Lot)

Happy Monday.  I hope you are keeping warm where you are.  We are finally experiencing winter here in SE Pennsylvania.  The temperature is below freezing and they are starting the throw the word “snow” around.  So I will be holed up in my craft room until spring….wouldn’t that be NICE!

Today my card is for two challenges.  It’s a Color Challenge at Pals Paper Arts and a Theme Challenge at the Global Design Project….

PPA-283-Jan14GDP019

I know that the Love theme can be all about Valentine’s Day but I decided to make my card a little more generic.  This card can be sent for any reason at all…

This card also gave me the opportunity to ink up the new Grateful Bunch stamp set.  I do love floral sets and can not seem to have enough as each set seems to be so uniquely beautiful.  This set also has a coordinating punch, which just adds to its usefulness.

I stamped the large flower in this set twice and the set of three flowers once.  The large flower needs to be hand cut and the other three fit perfectly in the punch and can be punch all at once.  The flowers were colored using Melon Mambo ink and a blender pen.   After coloring and cutting, I stacked the layer of flowers, using a dimensional in between a few of the layers.  I used a total of three dimensionals for the entire flower.  This really gives it a “POP”! The leaves are stamped in Mint Macaron and the sentiment in Basic Black.

The DSP I used is from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack in the Annual Catalog.

I love this sentiment from the Suite Sayings stamp set in the Occasions Catalog.  I have used this set on almost every card I’ve made since I bought it.

Thanks very much for popping in on my card share today.  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Sharing Handmade Kindness – Note Card Winner

Just a quick post today to announce the winner of the Polka-Dot Butterfly note card set.  Thank you so much for all the kind comments on this set.  I truly appreciated them.  If you missed that post you can see all the details here.

I randomly picked a number from the comments and the winner was Connie Hellman.  I will email Connie for her address so I can send her this sweet little package.

The stamp is from a Hero Arts Set, Acts of Kindness.  This set has some wonderful sentiments that are just perfect when sending a handmade or homemade gift.  They are also great for just cards.

I used a small treat bag that I purchased at Michaels in the baking dept. and embossed it with Stampin’ Up’s Happy Hearts Embossing Folder.  the label is using two of the dies from the Lots of Labels Framelits and the little hearts are punched with the heart from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  This little package came together very quickly!

So all wrapped up in this package are these cute little notecards that I know Connie will enjoy and can share!

“Wood” You Be My Valentine

Playing along with the Pals Paper Arts Challenge and here is Mary Fish’s sketch for this week.

PPA-282-Jan07

I am continuing with my Valentine card making in hopes that I will have a special something for everyone by the time the holiday rolls around.  This one is probably going to my husband as he is the only “boy” I have to send a valentine to.

I do seem to have some trouble with masculine cards, maybe since we are primarily a family of girls.  Daughters, nieces and great-nieces abound in my family.  Although, I do have a new son-in-law but I don’t think he would want a Valentine card from his mother-in-law!

The front sentiment is from the Sheltering Tree stamp set and the inside sentiment is from Suite Sayings stamp set.

Watermarked Photo 3 (2016-01-12-1115)

I used a die from the Treat Bag Framelits set to create a row of hearts on the inside and lined them with the DSP I used on the hearts on  front.  This DSP is from the Love Blossoms stack in the Occasions catalog.

The little hearts on the front of the envelope are from Hello Life stamp set.  It is really great how even a set not meant for a specific holiday can be so useful when making holiday cards.

I am really under the wire to get this post in so sorry for the short and sweet.  If you have any questions, please feel free to leave me a message and comment and I will be happy to answer.

Have a wonderful day,

Rosanne

“Love-ly” Valentine

Happy Saturday.  Even though it is somewhat gray and dreary here today, it is always so pleasant in the craft room!  I am participating in two challenges with this card today.  The Global Design Project’s Color Challenge and for the first time I am entering in the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge.

Global Design Project 017  Mojo429

When designing for a color and sketch challenge, I find that most of the though process is already done.  The only thing you need to come up with is an actual design.

With Valentine’s Day the next big holiday, I thought these colors were the perfect opportunity to start my Valentine’s cards.  I started with my Whisper White card base and added a layer of Crumb Cake.  From there I matted a piece of DSP from the Love Blossoms DSP Stack in the Occasions Catalog.  This little 6 x 6 stack packs a BIG punch.  All of the designs are great.  I knew I would be using this collection a lot and have already ordered a second package and may not be done yet!  The little sentiment is from the Hello Life stamp set.

Watermarked Photo 3 (2016-01-09-1425)

The heart is cut using the retired Hearts framelits and embossed with the Elegant Dots embossing folder for a little detail.  I stamped and cut the flowers using the Petite Petals stamp set and coordinating punch.  Before punching, I colored the flowers with Red Rose ink and a blender pen.  I also colored a few Garden Green and cut the petals apart for leaves.  The centers were colored with the Crushed Curry marker with some small pearls added.

I haven’t added a sentiment yet because I am waiting for my new order to come this week with the Bloomin’ Love stamp set.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope that you get to spend some time crafting this weekend.
