April Showers Thinking of You Card

Welcome to the first Tic Tac Toe Challenge of April. I had the pleasure of designing today’s board and hope that you’ll find some of the elements spark your creativity and share a project with us. Here’s the board…

…and here’s my card

There were several ways that I could do a tic tac toe. First, left diagonal down: Slimline, Free, Border. Second, left column down: Slimline, Pastel Colors, Encouraging Sentiment. Third, middle row across: Pastel Colors, Free, Stencil.

I haven’t made a slimline card in quite sometime. This card is a mini slimline and measures 6 x 3.5 and fits in a custom made envelope. I have slimline envelope templates HERE.

The stamp set is one I’ve had for a while. It’s from Spellbinders called Cute Boots. That’s where the sentiment is from also. I cut the image out using the Brother Scan & Cut and paper pieced the umbrella while coloring the rest with a combination of Copics and Stampin’ Blends. The stenciled background is from MFT Cloud stencil.

The inside sentiment is from a Close to My Heart stamp set. A neighbor of mine recently decided to give up her hobby and offered anyone in the neighborhood who was interested to come and take what they wanted. So I now have a small collection of CTMH stamp sets! I thought this sentiment fit perfectly with the image and thought behind the card.

I hope you’ll head over to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge to see the wonderful designs my fellow teammates created and will add one of your designs as well.

Happy Crafting!

Cheerful Get Well Card for the CC2C

Here we are again…Creating Coast to Coast. This month we’re beginning the journey here on the East Coast with me in PA and traveling West to Karen Hallam in CA.

Our direction this month was to follow a sketch. Sketches are a great starting point when creating a card. The bones of the card are already there but there’s lots of room for creative interpretation. Let’s take a look at today’s sketch…

Since Karen and I are both members of Mary Fish’s downline, I chose one of Mary’s fun sketches for us. I think this sketch has so many fun layers to work with. So here’s what I came up with…a cheerful get well card.

I have some new(er) products from Stampin’ Up! that haven’t been used yet and this was a perfect opportunity to break them in. The star of the card is definitely the Homemade Sweetness Designer Series Paper. I love the Misty Moonlight classic gingham paired with the delicate floral print. I think it gives off a very vintage vibe, which I love! I’ll list all the products used today below.

I searched high and low to come up with the small flower dies and found them in the Country Birdhouse dies. I think they match the floral background pretty well.

Supplies

Stamps: Friendly Foliage (SU),
Dies: Country Birdhouse, Stitched So Sweetly, Layering Circles (all SU)
Patterned Paper: Homemade Sweetness (SU)
Card Stock: White, Misty Moonlight, Garden Green, Crushed Curry (SU)
Ink: Misty Moonlight (SU)

Please head west to see Karen’s wonderful card HERE and let us both know what you think of them and if you enjoy our monthly cross country collaboration. Next month, we’ll be going back into the CC2C archives for projects.

Thanks for stopping by today and I’ll be back tomorrow with another Tic Tac Toe Challenge.

Take care,
Rosanne

Back Fold Mystery Fun Fold

Here’s another fun and easy fun fold courtesy of Jeanie Stark’s Mystery Monday Fun Folds. You can find all the directions, dimensions and details on Jeanie’s blog HERE for this week’s card.

Today’s card, although very easy to create, makes a very pretty impression. In my ongoing effort to use patterned paper from my stash, I pulled out a random 6 x 6 pad that may have come from the Target Dollar Spot some years ago. I paired it with the new Scalloped Wishes stamps and dies from Stampin’ Up! This is a lovely bundle!

And here’s the inside…The inside sentiment is from SU’s Friendly Foliage stamp set.

Happy first day of Spring. It actually looks like it may have finally arrived here (at least for today). I hope you have a beautiful spring weekend.

Take care,
Rosanne
