Buzzing By with a Mystery Fun Fold

Today’s card comes courtesy of Jeanie Stark’s Mystery Monday Fun Fold Challenge. I’m not sure what Jeanie is calling this card but you can see all the details, dimensions and directions HERE on her blog.

This was a fun card to put together using a lot of products from my stash, including this cute bee paper. I’ve had this paper in my stash for quite a while and not sure why I haven’t used this before but I’m happy to use it on today’s card.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your looking forward to a nice weekend!

Time for a Celebration: #tttc291

It’s time for another Tic Tac Toe Challenge so let’s make it a celebration, too! Jolanda created a super fun board for Team O to work with here. Please check out the board, get inspired, have fun creating and share your creativity with us this week.

I chose to create a birthday card going two ways on the board. (1) Middle column down: Die Cut/Punch, Emboss Wet/Dry, Layers. (2) Right diagonal down: Floral, Emboss Wet/Dry, Patterned Paper

And here’s the inside…

Patterned Paper: Dusty Blue Floral – Asuka Studio
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Seaside Spray – SU

Looking Back and CC2C…

Karen Hallam (CA) and I (PA) are back with our monthly cross country stamping adventure. This month we’re traveling from California to Pennsylvania, so that means Karen chose our direction. Karen had a great idea and one we haven’t done before. She suggested we go back in the CC2C archives and choose one of the other’s cards that we really liked and CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) it. Karen and I have been doing this fun collaboration since October 2019, so it wasn’t easy to choose one of Karen’s cards as they’re all wonderful. But this is one that really caught my eye…

A few of the things that I really like about this card are (1) there’s books! (2) the woodgrain DSP which gives a touch of faux texture (3) the bold sentiment and (4) the classic vibe.

The books are what initially drew me in, so that’s where I started with my CASE of this card…

I changed the orientation from Karen’s portrait to landscape. I cut a row of books using the same All About Autumn Designer Series Paper. The bold sentiment is from SU’s retired Celebrate You dies and is cut twice. Once with Pretty Peacock card stock and again with Copper Foil. I offset the the die cuts to give a shadow effect.

I haven’t stamped an inside sentiment since I’m not sure who will be receiving this card or for what occasion. I think it would make a wonderful graduation card for someone graduating from a Master’s Program or from Law School. I only have one graduation card to make this year and it’s for my great niece who’s graduation from High School, so I’ll be making her a brighter, more festive card. This would also make a nice Father’s Day card.

If you haven’t already come from Karen’s blog, please head over HERE to see what Karen’s CASE of one of my cards.

Thanks for crossing the country with Karen and I and we hope you’ll join us again next month.

Mystery Slide-Out Fun Fold: Cute as a Bug

It’s been a few weeks since I participated in Jeanie Stark’s Mystery Monday Fun Fold Challenge so it’s good to get back to it. This week’s card is a slide-out fun fold which gives it an interactive component that’s really fun. With this in mind, I wanted to create a fun, whimsical card. And I think SU’s Cute as a Bug Designer Series Paper along with the Sweet Bugs coordinating dies does the trick.

Since the Sweet Bugs dies coordinate with some of the images on the DSP, creating this card was a snap. Not to mention, that Jeanie’s instructions were super easy. All the details, dimensions and directions can be found on her blog HERE. I simply cut the little bugs from a sheet of DSP and added them to the DSP pattern on the card front using dimensionals. I think they look really cute resting on the mushrooms, especially the bookworm bug!

Opening the card, reveals the slide-out feature where a sentiment can be added.

I really enjoyed creating this card. I’ll be saving it to send to my grandsons to celebrate the end of the school year and beginning of summer vacation, which they are both really looking forward to, along with my daughter (their mom) who is a 5th grade teacher and has had a bit of a rough year. I need to make her a special card, too!!

Thanks for stopping by…enjoy your day!
