Sending Smiles Your Way

Happy 4th of July weekend!  I hope you’re enjoying a festive weekend.  Although I don’t have a patriotic card to share today, I’m hoping my card does make you smile.

This card was a lot of fun to create.  Not to mention, it was very easy to create, as well.  Each 1/2″ strip of SU DSP is glued to a 3/4″ strip of coordinating card stock.  I cut the SSS Sending Smiles word die once with white card stock and the black mat twice for a little dimension.  The small hearts are also from the die.  I added some glitter stickles to them for a bit of sparkle.  And that’s about it…easy, peasy! This is one of those cards that would work so well with so many color combinations and for so many different occasions.

I’m playing along with the Tic Tac Toe #168 Challenge...

I chose the first column down:  Friendship, Any Color, Any Shape Die and diagonally:  Friendship, Free, Sentiment

Thanks for stopping by today.

A Tea for Two Get Well

Today I’m sharing a cheerful Get Well card featuring an older Papertrey Ink stamp and die set, Tea for Two.  As an avid fan of all things tea related, I’m revisiting this set and can see so much potential for more projects.    I’m hoping this card will be as comforting as a hot cup of tea!

This is a mini slimline (my favorite) card measuring 6″ x 3 1/2″.  I’ve recently become a little more selective on the products that I purchase and I’m striving to use more of what I’ve already purchased.  So I decided to only purchase SU’s Tea Boutique DSP, which I used for the floral background.  The tea cups and teapot are stamped with SU’s Crushed Curry, Real Red and Mossy Meadow inks.  I had some retired Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine to string the tea cups.  The sentiment is also from the Tea for Two stamp set.

I used a really old sentiment from CTMH on the inside.  Besides the heartfelt wish of this sentiment, I absolutely love the font!

I chose the third column down: Scallops, Twine, Patterned Paper

Thanks for stopping by on this last day of June.  Have a wonderful day!

It’s a Pinwheel Party!

I sat down to make this card and got totally lost making pinwheel after pinwheel!  Now I have a desk full of pinwheels that I’ll be turning into cards soon.  Creating this one layer  card was really fun using the Pinwheel Party bundle from The Greetery.  My pinwheels were created using the stencils and masks that come in the bundle, which can be purchased separately also. Stenciling is quickly becoming a favorite technique of mine.  The sentiment is from Neat & Tangled’s Celebrate 2 stamp set and is heat embossed.

I was inspired to make a one layer card, which is something I rarely do, by The Paper Players Challenge

Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Totally Digging You!

Hello!  I hope you’re enjoying the second official day of summer.  I absolutely love summer!  It wasn’t always my favorite season.  It quickly became the favorite when I started working in a school…for understandable reasons.  Well, I’ve retired from the school library this spring, so perhaps another season will now become the favorite…we’ll see.

Today’s card share is another fun, mini slimline that I created for my grandsons.  Even though they’re pretty young (5 & 1 yrs.), and I get to see them on a regular basis, I enjoy popping cards in the mail to them.

Again, this is a mini slimline that measures 6 1/2″ x 3 1/2″.  The top panel measures 6 1/4 x 3 1/4 with three squares cut using SU Layering Squares Dies.  Before attaching the top panel with foam tape, I stenciled some subtle clouds to the card base behind the squares.  I created the road using Lawn Fawn’s Slimline Simple Road Border.  The cute little construction vehicles and sentiment are from Newton’s Nook, Love Quarry stamps and dies.

I’m playing along with the Tic Tac Toe #166 Challenge….

I chose the middle row across: Car/Truck, Square, Blue

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you’re having an enjoyable day!

Take care,

Rosanne
