Forever After with Forever Fern

Stampin Up Forever Ferns Anniversary Card -Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

Today I’m sharing a pretty card created with the Forever Fern Bundle.  I’m sending this card to my daughter, Elizabeth and her husband, James for their 3rd Anniversary.  It would also be a perfect bridal shower or wedding card, especially if created in the bride’s colors.

Forever Fern is on my top 5 list of new products from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.  I was first drawn to it by the beautiful Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper.  However,  the stamps and dies soon captured my heart as their are so many color variations besides shades of green that you could use to create projects for just about any occasion.  Today, I chose Balmy Blue to accent the greens.

Forever Fern Bundle #154094

Materials & Measurements

  • Balmy Blue card base:   8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Basic Black card stock:  5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″, 5 1/4″ x 4″ (inside)
  • Whisper White card stock:  5″ x 3 3/4″ (cut 2)

Details

  • Stamp the sentiment from Forever Fern stamp set, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on the bottom right of the Whisper White panel.
  • Heat emboss with clear embossing powder.
  • Glue to the Basic Black card stock and adhere to the Balmy Blue card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stampin Up Forever Ferns Anniversary Cards -Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

  • Stamp an assortment of leaves and berries.  I used Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz and Balmy Blue ink.
  • Cut these with the coordinating Forever Flourishing dies.  I also cut a few from vellum card stock.
  • Layer and adhere the die cuts to the upper left corner.  Mini glue dots work well here.
  • Glue a small bow, also using glue dots.
  • I colored a few small rhinestones with a black Sharpie and lined them on the upper right side.  I think this gives a little formality to the card.  I’m also terrible at trying to place sequins or rhinestones randomly!

Stampin Up Forever Ferns Anniversary Card-Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

  • The inside sentiment is from the So Sentimental stamp set.
  • Since the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper is primarily shades of green, I created my own DSP to coordinate with the color scheme of my card.  I randomly stamped a busy floral pattern on Whisper White card stock and trimmed the inside of the card with a small strip.

  • I trimmed the left side of the envelope front with another “homemade” strip of DSP.

Celebrating Sunflowers Tutorials

Happy New Week!  The summer just seems to be flying by despite our country’s current situation.  At least something has remained the same…summer still seems to go by in a flash!  And sunflowers are the quintessential summertime bloom.  July and August are peak months for sunflowers here in PA. And aren’t they one of the most happiest flowers with their big, bold blooms?

I’ve been enjoying the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set and coordinating Sunflower dies a lot since they debuted in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.  This is one of my favorite bundles in the catalog.  I guess you can say that I’ve been having my own sunflower celebration in the craft room!  As part of that celebration, I’ve created a set of tutorials featuring this bundle.

I’m still note finished creating with this bundle, so if you’re looking for more ideas be sure to stop back often.    I know that these happy flowers are going to take me through the rest of Summer and into Fall.

Pals Blog Hop – Celebrate Sunflowers Fun Fold Birthday

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team is showcasing “Gifts From the Garden.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

My card share today features one of my new favorite bundles, Celebrate Sunflowers.  I’ve been creating with these products pretty much non-stop for the last week and have a lot of projects to share soon.  This set offers everything that I love to create with:  large floral images with coordinating smaller images, versatile sentiments in a pretty font, dies that coordinate with the stamped images as well as stand-alone intricate dies, and images that are fun to color.  Yep, it basically has it all!

I’m calling today’s card a Z-Fold plus card.  Plus because it has an added panel for an inside sentiment like a regular A2 card.  I used two patterns from the 2020-2021 In-Color 6 x 6 DSP collection.  The big, bold sunflower was stamped in black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, then colored with a variety of Stampin’ Blends.  After cutting the flower and leaves with the coordinating Sunflower`Dies, I glued them to Basic Black card stock and cut a border around them.  These are glued to the front panel.

Opened up the card reveals the sentiment which is also heat embossed, hand cut, matted and glued to the first inside panel.  Since when opened the large panel is blank, I stamped and masked a collection of smaller sunflowers and colored them with Stampin’ Blends.  The rhinestones were colored with a black Sharpie.

Here is the inside panel…the sentiment is a combination of two stamped images from the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  It’s a great set for coordinating sentiments.  It also has a couple sketchy floral images.

My sister has a July birthday and I’m planning on delivering this card to her with a bouquet of real sunflowers.  I’m looking forward to seeing her, if even at a 6 ft. distance.  We live close to each other but have not spent any time together since March.  We do talk on the phone for hours at a time but it’s still not the same!

Arrange a Wreath with a Twist

For today’s card, I used the Arrange a Wreath Bundle and gave it a little twist, thus giving it more versatility.  I really like sets that can be altered and used in a little more unconventional ways.  It’s a way to create added value to your purchase.  As a big fan of wreaths in general and especially paper ones that I can create myself, I was thrilled to see the Arrange a Wreath bundle in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.  This bundle will take you through a year of holidays, as well as, almost any occasion.  That’s a big bang for the buck!

Arrange a Wreath Bundle #154109
Images©Stampin’ Up!
Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping

This card is a general “Just Because” card to send some kindness and hopefully make someone’s day.  And I had just that person in mind while creating it.

Materials & Measurements

Whisper White Thick card base:   4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″

Gorgeous Grape card stock: 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″

Whisper White card stock: 4″ x 5 1/4″

Details

  • Glue the Gorgeous Grape card stock to the Whisper White thick card base.
  • Emboss the Whisper White panel using the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder and glue to the Gorgeous Grape panel.
  • Emboss a 7/8″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White card stock using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Layer this onto a strip of Gorgeous Grape card stock measuring 1″ x 4″.
  • Position the strips in the center of the card and glue.

  • Stamp the wreath in Old Olive ink and cut.  I used my Scan n’ Cut to cut the wreath since there is no coordinating die for this image.  It could also easily be hand cut since just the outside is cut.
  • Once the wreath was stamped and cut, I used my trimmer to cut it in 1/2 and glued each half above and below the center strips creating an oval from the round wreath.
  • I embellished the wreath with a few (retired) Noble Peacock rhinestones.
  • The sentiment is from the Country Home stamp set and is heat embossed.
  • Stampin’ Up! no longer carries black embossing powder so to get the same look, I stamped the sentiment using my Versa-Fine ink pad and clear embossing powder.
  • The sentiment is cut with an oval from the Layering Ovals dies and matted with another oval from the Stitched Shapes dies in Gorgeous Grape.
  • The sentiment is adhered to the center of the oval wreath with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  • I left the inside blank to write a personal note and embossed the envelope flap with the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder.

It was very easy to alter the wreath to create a totally different shape.  Here’s a more traditional take on the Arrange a Wreath bundle that features the Wreath Builder dies.  You can read the details HERE
