Bountiful Autumn Wreath

Today I’m sharing another project that’s included in my August Tutorial Package.  August’s tutorials feature the Arrange a Wreath bundle and include four unique projects.  I had a blast creating with this bundle over the last few weeks and have so much more to share.  This bundle has basically all the holidays covered as well as most occasions.

Stampin' Up! Arrange a Wreath Fall Thank You Cards Idea -Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

Fall is one of my favorite seasons and so much fun to create cards and other projects for.  I really enjoy the cooler temperatures, fall colors, leaves and pumpkins, etc.  But most especially, I love the “thankful” spirit of the season.  And I think the sentiment on this card is perfect for expressing just that.

Here’s the details on August’s Tutorial Package…

The projects in this tutorial consist of a horizontal Z Fun Fold Birthday Gift Card Holder, an Autumn Holiday/Thank You Card, and a pretty Summer Sunflower Many Occasion card with a matching Candy Gift Box.  These are all  created using the Arrange a Wreath bundle.  Each tutorial is available as a PDF with written instructions and photos. I’ve included step by step photo instructions on how to build each wreath. I’d love to share these with you.  Here’s how you can get them…

  • FREE with an online order of $50 or more (before tax & shipping).
  • Any order of $75 or more (before tax & shipping) will receive the FREE  tutorials as well as a set of four handmade seasonal wreaths.
  • All (any size) online orders always receive a handmade card that can be repurposed.
  • If you do not wish to place an order, you can purchase the tutorial package for $10.00 by submitting payment via PayPal “send to a friend” option.  My PayPal address is [email protected].

A Summery Sunflower Wreath Card & Treat Box

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team is showcasing “My Happiest Season.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Obviously, you can guess that my favorite season is right NOW!  I love summer and almost everything about it.  I especially love the flowers and fresh vegetables that are in abundance during the summer.  Before we downsized, I had a large vegetable garden that brought me much joy as well as a lot of fresh produce.  Where we live now I don’t have an opportunity for a vegetable garden.  Although, there are many Amish farms so close by that have wonderful produce stands.  They also have lovely fresh flowers almost daily.  Here are a couple of beautiful bouquets I picked up recently, which may have provided some inspiration for my projects today.

For my project today, I created a summery sunflower wreath card and matching pizza box filled with mini Hershey bars using the Arrange a Wreath Bundle.  This is one of my all-time favorite bundles from Stampin’ Up!  I love making wreaths for all different occasions and creating little ones with paper is just as much fun. There are so many fun elements included in this bundle.  I’ll be making tiny paper wreaths for months to come!

I kept the sentiment neutral on the front of the card so I can use it for any number of occasions.

The same wreath fits perfectly atop the mini pizza box.

To add a little surprise to the inside, I placed 6 mini Hershey bars in a clear treat bag, wrapped a belly band around them and embellished it with a few more little sunflowers.

If you don’t already receive my blog posts in your email, be sure to subscribe as I’ll have more details on these projects and a few others using the Arrange a Wreath bundle on Friday.

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop on September 9th when our theme is “It’s the Sentiment that Counts.” The Design Team will showcase a sentiment as the focal point of their project. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft room.

Floral Essence Slimline Birthday Card

Happy new week!  I hope you had a nice weekend.  The summer is just flying by and I’m trying to enjoy it as much as I can.  I celebrated my birthday on Saturday with a wonderful dinner at my daughter, Emily’s and son-in-law, Mike’s house.  And of course, with my favorite little guy, Jack!

So have you see the recent trend in card making?  Slimline cards are everywhere on Pinterest and many stamping companies’ blogs.  Coincidentally, these came along at a time when I was getting a little bored with the usual A2 card.  I’ll still continue to make A2 cards as they are the standard card making size but I’m also happy to change it up and go BIG once in a while.

Stampin Up Floral Essence Slimline Birthday Card Idea -Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

I reached for the Floral Essence stamp set to create this pretty slimline birthday card.  I forgot how much I  loved creating with these flowers when they came out in last year’s annual catalog.  And I still love them!

The card base measures 8 1/2″ x 6 3/4″ and is scored at 3 1/2″.

I wanted a clean looking card but with there being so much space, leaving it just white looked too plain.  The embossing folders I have are not long enough to cover the entire card front, so I added a 8 1/2″ x 3 1/4″ piece of Whisper White card stock that I scored at 1/4″ intervals to the card front.  This gave it a little more texture and added interest.

The front of the card is 1/4″ shorter than the back to allow for the Ornate Border to be glued to the bottom inside of the card front.  I cut two borders and pieced them together and trimmed them so they would cover the length of the card.  The seam where they’re connected is hidden by a flower.  Then I added a 8 1/2″ x 1/4″ strip of Highland Heather card stock to hide the horizontal border seam.  I did the same to the inside front.  This gives a nice finished look.

I stamped the flowers in Highland Heather, Flirty Flamingo and Balmy Blue ink.  Each flower consists of two of the large flowers which I offset before gluing and one small flower which I adhered with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  The leaves are stamped in Granny Apple Green.  Both the flowers and leaves are hand cut.  The sentiments is from the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set and is also hand cut with a Basic Black hand cut mat.  Lastly, I added a few Clear Epoxy Droplets.

Stampin Up Floral Essence Slimline Birthday Card Idea- Rosanne Mulhern stampinupThe inside is stamped with two sentiments from the Fancy Phrases stamp set. I stamped a flower and leaves using the masking technique.  As you can see, I forgot to stamp the middle of the flower center.  I’ll be sure to stamp it with Daffodil Delight ink before I mail the card.

I purchased a box of white #10 envelopes from an office supply store.  I’ll be using these for any slimline cards I make in there future.  These are considered resume envelopes and have a nice linen feel to them.

I really enjoyed making this card and know that I’ll be making more of these.  They’re fun, different, give a lot of room to embellish and I think would be totally unexpected to receive.  Even given the size, they don’t require any additional postage.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope the week ahead is looking good for you.

Take care,

Rosanne
