Saying Goodbye to Sale-a-Bration with Flowering Foils

Can you believe it’s the end of Sale-a-Bration already?  It’s such a fun time, especially with the staggered releases as there’s always something new & free to look forward to.  I’ve enjoyed a few of the stamps but I have to say that the Designer Series Paper offers were my favorite.  Today I’m sharing a set of note cards featuring two of these collections that I think are absolutely beautiful and would have purchased anyway if they weren’t offered for free:  Flowering Foils and Very Vellum.

I really couldn’t say which DSP I like better as I think they compliment each other so well.

Materials & Measurement

  • The card base is a Whisper White Note Card which measure 5″ x 3 1/2″
  • The next card stock layer measures 4 7/8″ x 3 3/8″
  • So Very Vellum panel is cut at 4 3/4″ x 3 1/4″
  • Copper Foil strip is cut at 4 3/4″ x 1″
  • Whisper White strip on the “friend” and “thank you” cards measures 4 3/4″ x 3/4″
  • The banner on the “hello” card is 1/2″ wide.

Details

  • The colored card stock is glued to the note card
  • Next the vellum is adhered to the card stock.  Vellum is difficult to glue down without it being seen.  I used a very light touch of snail adhesive on each corner and it seemed to work well.

  • Coloring the flowers were quick and easy using sponge daubers and the colors indicated under each card.

Soft Sea Foam Background / Rococo Rose & Pear Pizzazz Flower

I really enjoyed creating these cards and love how soft and pretty they turned out.  I’ll be making these in sets of six and gifting a few sets. Today is the last day you can purchase the Flowering Foils and So Very Vellum Designer Series Papers. For each order of $50 or more (which would qualify for a free Sale-a-Bration product) I’ll be sending one of these cards as a thank you.

You can check out the other FREE products available by clicking on each of the graphics.

While this is a difficult time, I hope you are doing well and spending some time doing things that give you joy.

Please take care,

Rosanne

Hello & Pass it Along!

Like almost everyone in our country, I’m staying home and practicing social distancing.  If there is an upside to this, it’s that I’m stamping more.  Most of us know that this hobby we enjoy can provide much needed creative therapy and take our minds away from the stresses of the day, if only for a little while.  So along with this much needed respite, I’ve been creating simple cards to send to friends, family and customers. Here’s one I sent out recently.

Stampin Up Good Morning Magnolia Hello Card Idea -Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper is the star of this card.  The patterns in this collection are so pretty and versatile.  So much so, that I’ve created this card with very little stamping, allowing the paper to shine.

Magnolia Lane DSP #149484

Stampin Up Good Morning Magnolia Hello Card Idea- Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

  • Using the Layering Circles,  cut two scalloped circles: one from Petal Pink card stock and a larger on from Vellum and glue together, then glue onto card.
  • The flower is cut from the DSP and adhered with dimensionals.

Stampin Up Good Morning Magnolia Hello Card Idea - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

  • I thought this sentiment, from the Floral Essence stamp set, was such a nice way to let someone know that your thinking of them and wishing them well, especially at this uncertain time.
  • A bit of DSP and strip of Mossy Meadow card stock embellishes the panel.

Along with sending these cards and my good wishes, I’m enclosing this blank note card for the recipient to pass along with their own good wishes.

I hope that you’re adjusting well to our “new normal” and can find some time to relax and enjoy a little stamping therapy. Perhaps you’ll consider making and sending cards as just another form of social distancing.  And consider it a win/win!

Please take care,

Forever Blossoms Birthday

Today I’m sharing a card featuring my favorite bundle in the Occasions Catalog, Forever Blossoms.  And how timely, as all the cherry trees are blossoming in my area despite the havoc going on around us.  Thank goodness for that and what a welcome sight!

Materials & Measurements

  • Whisper White Thick card stock: 4 1/4″ x 11, scored at 5 1/2″
  • Basic Black card stock: 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
  • Whisper White card stock: 4″ x 5 1/4″

Details

  • The Whisper White card panel  was embossed with the Tufted 3D Embossing Folder, leaving about 1 1/2″ at the top un-embossed…if that’s even a wordU.
  • The sentiment, from the Varied Vases stamp set, is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento  ink on the smooth portion of this panel.  Then glued it directly to the Basic Black card stock.
  • Next a piece of 1/2″ Black Satin ribbon is wrapped around both panels before gluing them directly to the card base.

  • The blossoms were colored with Stampin’ Blends and cut with the Cherry Blossoms Dies.
  • Two blossom sprays are layered and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A black baker’s twine (retired) bow bundles the sprays together.
  • Finally, I added a few Clear Epoxy Droplets for a pretty  finishing touch.

  • I didn’t feel that this card needed any DSP as these flowers can really hold their own.  So I used the same flower image on the inside.  It’s stamped with Smoky Slate ink. I’ve also embellished the envelope with this image.
  • The sentiment is also from the Varied Vases stamp set.  This is a set that I’ve used and loved for quite a while.

I hope these pretty blossoms lifted your spirits today and that you’re navigating these uncertain days well.  Stamping has been such a pleasant distraction for me and I hope for you also.  Please stay safe!

Take care,

Rosanne

You’ve Been on My Mind

Hello!  It’s Friday already and what a strange week it’s been!  Just like most educators across the country, I’ve been home from school all week with no idea when we’ll return. We’re conducting online classes and making the best of this unprecedented situation.  Thank goodness for this wonderful hobby!  I’ve been spending a lot more time in the craft room stamping.

Stampin Up Butterfly Gala Thinking of You Card Idea - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

The sentiment on today’s card says it all.  I’ll be sending cards to family and friends to let them know I’m thinking of them, even though maybe not able to see them.

Materials & Measurements

  • Card base:  Whisper White Thick Card Stock, cut at 11″ x 4 1/4″, scored at 5 1/2″
  • Pool Party Card Stock, cut at 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ (cut 2:  one for the inside also)
  • White Embossed Panel, cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Pool Party Panel, cut at 4 5/8″ x 2 1/8″
  • Bird Ballad DSP, cut at 4 1/2″ x 2″
  • Whisper White Card Stock,  cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″ for the inside

Details

  • Once I matted all the layers with glue (no dimensionals here), this card came together rather quickly.
  • The white embossed layer is from a long retired DSP collection which I don’t recall the name.  However, any pretty embossing folder would work well here.
  • The small butterflies, from the Butterfly Gala stamp set, are a two step stamp.  They’re stamped first with Tuxedo Black Memento ink ,then with Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue, Calypso Coral and Petal Pink ink.  They’re punched out with the Butterfly Duets punch.
  • I popped them on the DSP with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stampin Up Butterfly Gala Thinking of You Card Idea -Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

  • The sentiment is also from the Butterfly Gala stamp set.  I like to straightforward font on this sentiment.  I stamped it in Early Espresso ink on a banner from my stash.  This is also popped with dimensionals, however the butterfly is glued directly to the banner.

  • The inside is embellished with a few stamped butterflies and a strip of DSP, leaving enough room for a message.
  • I also added the same DSP strip to the envelope for a pretty coordinated look.

Stampin Up Butterfly Gala Thinking of You Card Idea - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

This card actually served a dual purpose.  Besides having a pretty card to brighten someone’s day, it allowed my to use some long neglected stamps and DSP.  I know that I get a little too wrapped up in just the new products and tend to forget about products that are still current but have been around awhile.  After not using them for such a long time, they actually feel new again!  Is this something that happens to you, also?  I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a good weekend while trying to stay safe and healthy.

Please take care,

Rosanne
