Animal Outing For Baby

Happy Monday!  Today is my last day of summer vacation.  It’s back to school tomorrow!  I must admit that it’s been a good summer but as far as stamping goes, I didn’t get nearly as much done as I wanted to.  So I resolved to step it up for the Fall.  I’ve been creating with some of the new products from the Holiday catalog and they’ve got my creative juices flowing again.  However, for today’s card I reached for the Animal Outing stamp set and coordinating Animal Friends thinlits to create a set of baby cards.

HERE’S THE DETAILS….

Materials & Measurements

Card Base is Petal Pink and Balmy Blue card stock: 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″

Whisper White card stock: 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″

Smoky Slate card stock: 5 1/4″ x 4″

Smoky Slate Gingham DSP: 4″x 3 7/8″

Assembly

  • Adhere the Smoky Slate panel directly to the Whisper White panel.
  • Then layer them to the Petal Pink or Balmy Blue card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Smoky Slate Gingham layer was created using a Stitched border die that I had in my stash.

  • All the images and dies are from the Animal Outing stamp set and Animal Friends thinlits with the exception of the flowers.  I used a die from Lovely Flowers framelits.
  • The sentiment is heat embossed in white embossing powder, hand cut and popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  • I colored the images with a variety of Stampin’ Blends. The colors are listed in the Product List at the end of the post.

  • The inside sentiment is from the retired stamp set, Made with Love.  I’m glad I hung onto this set as both the images and sentiments are so sweet.

I still love this set as much now as when it first came out a few catalogs ago.  These cute animals are just perfect for a baby cards.  HERE and HERE are a couple of cards I created with this set previously.

A few of my co-workers welcomed babies over the summer, so I’ll be giving these cards out tomorrow when I return to school.  I think I’ll need to make a few more to have on hand.

Thanks for stopping in and I hope that you’re continuing to enjoy the summer.

Take care,

Rosanne

Come Sail Away & Celebrate

Greetings from Ocean City, MD!  I’m spending a few fun-filled days with my whole family celebrating a BIG birthday.  We don’t have the opportunity to do this very often, so it’s super special when we can.  Last year, my husband had that same BIG birthday and we spent it in the Pocono Mountains.  This year, it’s the Beach so my card today just seemed very appropriate.  However, I actually created it for my husband, Steve’s birthday this week.

When I purchased the Sailing Home Suite at OnStage, I wasn’t sure that I would use all the elements.  I’m happy to say, I was wrong!  Between today’s card and this card HERE, every product in the suite was used.

HERE’S THE DETAILS….

Materials & Measurements

Whisper White thick card stock: 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″

Night of Navy card stock: 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″

Whisper White card stock: 5 1/4″ x 4″

Assembly

  • Adhere the Night of Navy panel to the Whisper White card base.
  • Emboss the Whisper White layer using the Subltes embossing Folder.
  • Sponge this layer with Balmy Blue ink to create a sky.
  • Stamp the birds in the upper right corner with Crumb Cake ink.
  • The waves were created with a overlay included in the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack.  It needed to be trimmed to fit.

  • The sailboats were stamped in Night of Navy and Crumb Cake ink and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Lastly, those sentiments are actually stickers also from the Memories & More Card Pack.  Take a look at all that’s included in this pack.  I think these paper packs are a terrific value and really stretch your creativity.

Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack #149552

  • Lastly, I embellished the envelope with a thin strip of Designer Series Paper from the Come Sail Away collection along with the rope die from the Smooth Sailing framelits and a stamped sailboat.

This is one product suite that I’m enjoying more than I thought I would.  I have a few more masculine cards to make and I’m sure I’ll use this set for some of them.

I’ll leave you with a picture taken of our crew at the beach.  Last year, we had t-shirts made for Steve’s birthday and this year I was surprised with beach towels.  I laughed hysterically at the caricature of me as I’ve never worn a bikini in my life let alone when I’m turning 60!

Have a wonderful weekend,

Rosanne

Cheerful Birthday Wishes – Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pals’ August Blog Hop! We’re so glad you’re here because we made some great projects for “Special Occasions”  – cards or projects that adds beauty to the special occasions we all love to make cards for! You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Today’s card is a bright and cheerful Summertime birthday card.  I know that we’re being inundated with all things Fall just about now, however, I’m hanging onto summer just a bit longer.

Once again, I reached for the Floral Essence stamp set pairing it with the Buffalo Check stamp.  These sets along with the color combination of Daffodil Delight and Real Red make for a charming country feel.  I recently made another card HERE that had the same appeal.

To create the diagonal cut on the top layer of DSP, I used the largest die in the Stitched Rectangles.  I also took a strip of Real Red card stock and using the same die, cut an edge piece along the longer side of the rectangle then trimmed it to fit along the edge of the DSP for a border.  Here is the placement of the die.

In full disclosure, I cut the piece stamped with the Buffalo Check a bit too short.  Next time I’ll wait to cut this piece after I’ve made the diagonal cut.  Here’s my mistake…

Luckily, the placement of the flowers easily covered up where the two pieces didn’t meet.  The flowers were layered and popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  This set does not have framelits to cut these flowers, so I used a Scan n Cut.  The leaves were stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink and punched using the Leaf Punch.

The sentiment is from the Dandelion Wishes stamp set and is cut with an oval die from the Stitched Shapes framelits and layered on a Real Red oval cut from the Layering Ovals framelits.  The heart is a retired enamel shape.

The inside features two sentiments from the Special Celebrations stamp set.

To complete the project, I stamped on the front of the envelope. Creating a little inside and envelope  coordination really pulls it all together for a one of a kind card.

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Don’t forget to show us some love by commenting on our creations. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 11, 2019 when our Hoppin’ Pals share their “It’s the Sentiment that Counts” projects. Don’t miss the fun!

My True North

Today’s card uses every product in the Come Sail Away Suite except the Smooth Sailing Dies.  Stampin’ Up! does an awesome job putting together their product suites and I’m glad that I purchased this one.

The lighthouse silhouette from the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack takes center stage on my card.  If you haven’t noticed these Memories & More Card Packs, they really do deserve a look.  There are so many interesting pieces that make card making easy and stretch your creativity.

  • The card size is 6 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ and was dictated by the size of the lighthouse layover.
  • The next layer is Balmy Blue card stock measuring 6 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ that has been embossed with the High Seas 3D embossing folder.
  • Before adhering the lighthouse layer, I filled in the light with So Saffron card stock and parts of the lighthouse with Night of Navy card stock.  Then it was glued to the embossed piece.
  • The sentiment, from Sailing Home stamp set, was stamped in Night of Navy ink and matted on a piece of Crumb Cake card stock. I popped it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I wrapped a piece of Baker’s Twine with an anchor trinket from the Sail Away Trinkets. I love these little added details!

  • The envelope is from my stash and is embellished with a pattern from the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper collection and Night of Navy card stock.

I had a lot of fun creating this card and I’m excited to continue creating with this fabulous suite of products.  Hopefully, you’ll Come Sail Away with me again soon!
