A Country Home Hello

It’s been a while since I used one of my all-time favorite stamp sets, Country Home.  I was delighted that this set carried over in the Annual Catalog.  Not only is it a wonderful Fall/Thanksgiving set, but it’s perfect for almost any occasion.  The images and sentiments make this just an all around versatile set with a cozy country feel. This set pairs so well with the Tin Tile embossing folder to create a total country vibe that I just love. Both of these products will stay with me for a very long time.

Today’s card is a general Just Thinking of You that’s so nice to send to someone just because…

The card base is Very Vanilla thick card stock with a mat of Terracotta Tile card stock cut 1/8″ smaller. Next I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla card stock with the Tin Tile embossing folder and cut it into three            1 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ strips and spaced them (almost) evenly and adhered them to the Terracotta Tile card stock. I wrapped a piece of Terracotta Tile 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbon around the two top layers before gluing to the card base.  This ribbon is so pretty and just adds to the country charm.

The milk can and foliage were colored with Stampin’ Blends and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. These were cut using my Brother Scan n Cut.  I punched small holes in the little hello and wrapped it around the can with a bit of Linen Thread.

Isn’t this sentiment just wonderful.  Wouldn’t everyone like to be the “happy to someone’s day”.

I simply embossed the envelope flap with the Tin Tile embossing folder to coordinate the card and envelope…such a quick and easy way to embellish.

I hope you enjoyed this little walk in the country and perhaps you’ll let someone know that they’re the happy to your day!

Daisy Lane Duo

Happy Monday! Today’s project features a product that I haven’t utilized nearly enough…the Mini Pizza Box! My Sister’s birthday is this week and I made this card for her.  However, I also made her a couple of bracelets and needed a box for them.  So why not coordinate both?  Isn’t this one of the best things about this hobby, the ability to coordinate and customize?!

Let’s start with the card…

If this layout looks familiar, that’s because it’s exactly the same as THIS card.  I actually CASED myself!  I had everything out on my desk and decided to just change up the paper and stamps.  The DSP is from the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper collection.  It’s matted on Flirty Flamingo card stock on a thick Whisper White card base.

The daisies are from the Daisy Lane stamp set.  I stamped them in Daffodil Delight ink and used a pink watercolor pencil to shade each of the petals,  The flowers are punch from the Daisy Punch and Medium Daisy Punch.  The flower centers are retired embellishments that I colored with Daffodil Delight Dark Stampin’ Blend. The leaves, from Painted Harvest stamp set, are stamp in Soft Sea Foam ink on vellum and punched with the Leaf Punch.

The sentiment is from a set I bought long ago from Michaels.  It’s stamped on vellum and heat embossed.  I added a few color coordinated sequence for a pretty final touch.

Now for the long neglected Mini Pizza Box…

Measurements for the top of the box are: Flirty Flamingo card stock (3 3/8″ x 3 3/8″) DSP (3/4 x 3 1/4 ).  The sides measure: Flirty Flamingo (7/8″ x 3 3/8) DSP (3 1/4 x 3 1/4″).

I wrapped a piece of Petal Pink Organdy Striped ribbon around the top before gluing it to the box.  Flowers were created the same as the card.  These boxes are very sturdy and are just perfect to hold just about anything small enough to fit.

There’s still time to take advantage of these specials…

A Floral Essence Get Well Card

Wow…can you believe that July is already half over.  I’ve had so many good intentions to blog more regularly during the summer while I’m off from school but somehow the days just slip past.  We’re busy renovating the house we moved into last summer.  I’m also lucky to get to spend three days each week at the beach in Avalon, NJ with my daughter and grandson…so I’m not complaining at all!

However, I did manage to get a card done for this week….

I really love the floral images and patterns in the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper collection but felt a bit intimidated by it.  So to get started on something, I created the card front using this pretty floral pattern matted with Petal Pink and Blackberry Bliss card stock and mounted it on a Whisper White card stock base.  This actually sat on my desk for about a week before I was inspired enough to create a card.

I stamped and layered the flowers from images in the Floral Essence stamp set multiple times in Blushing Bride and Highland Heather ink.  I needed three stamped images for each flower: two large and one small.  You can see the layering in the photo below.  The leaves are from the Painted Harvest stamp set and are stamped in Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive ink on vellum.  I punched them using the coordinated leaf punch.  I like how they look muted against the DSP.

The sentiment is from a set I purchased long ago from Michaels but I absolutely love the fonts.  I stamped it on vellum and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Lastly, I added a few Clear Epoxy Droplets.

The inside sentiment is also from the same set….

I’m pretty pleased with the way this card turned out and I’m slowly getting over my DSP intimidation!  I’ve actually created another project with a different pattern from Perennial Essence DSP that I’ll post next week.

Pretty Texture for the Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pals’ July  Blog Hop! We’re so glad you’re here because we made some great projects that are “Mixing It Up” –  adding texture that will really take your projects up a notch – or two! You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

My favorite way to simply add texture to my cards is heat embossing.  Although it’s not a new or latest technique, it adds a little more dimension and interest to your projects.

For today’s card, I stamped the large floral image from the Floral Essence stamp set randomly on Whisper White card stock using Versa Fine Onyx Black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  This eliminates any stray embossing powder that you may get if you used Versa Mark and black embossing powder.  Then using the dots image from Painted Harvest stamp set, I stamped and embossed with gold embossing powder to fill in some of the white space.  I colored the flowers with Flirty Flamingo Blends Combo. I repeated this on another piece of card stock, partially cut it out and glued it onto each flower giving them pretty dimension.

The flower centers are embellishments I had in my stash.  They were originally white before I colored them gold using a Sharpie marker.  They also provided a bit of texture.

Lastly, the sentiment is from Good Morning, Magnolia stamp set and embossed on vellum.  It’s tucked under a flower petal and adhered with a glue dot.

The inside sentiment is also from the Floral Essence stamp set.  I used a retired piece of Flirty Flamingo DSP and a strip of gold foil paper to embellish the inside as well as the envelope flap.

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Don’t forget to show us some love by commenting on our creations. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, August 14, 2019 when our Hoppin’ Pals share their “Special Occasions” projects. Don’t miss the fun!
