Happy 1st Birthday Jack

I just wanted to pop in to do a quick last minute post on one of my favorite retiring sets, Birthday Delivery. I loved this bundle as soon as I saw it and knew that I would use it for my grandson Jack’s first birthday…and this was even before he was born!

Instead of making Jack a card, I decided to create this shadow box as a keepsake.

And using the Large Letters framelits, I created this banner along with some fun rosettes.

And here is the ONEderful birthday boy…

Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,

A Birthday Bloom Wedding

Stampin Up Birthday Blooms Wedding Cards Idea - Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping

In a few short days, it will be time to say goodbye to one of my all-time favorite stamp sets, Birthday Blooms.  Technically, I won’t be saying goodbye as this one will be staying with me for a long time and may even pop up on the blog again!

The big, beautiful bloom is stamped in Versa-Mark on Blushing Bride card stock and heat embossed with white embossing powder to create the pretty background.  I layered this on a Silver Foil sheet.

Using the Celebrate You thinlits, I cut the “Celebrate” out twice.  Once in Silver Foil and again in Whisper White card stock and layered them with a little offset.  The sentiment (from Best Birds stamp set) below it, is stamped on vellum in Versa Mark ink and heat embossed in silver embossing powder.  Because it’s difficult to adhere vellum without seeing an adhesive mark, I simply wrapped the stamped vellum around the two layers of card stock and adhered it to the back.  After doing this, I adhered them to the card base with dimensionals.

The inside sentiment is from Flourishing Phrases stamp set which will be carrying over in the new Annual Catalog.  The sentiments in this set never get old and are so useful.

I used a long retired pattern of Designer Series Paper in Blushing Bride to create the envelope liner.  This is the perfect use for retired paper that is just too pretty not to use!

I think this would be a great card to make in just about any color and especially in the bridal colors, which is what I did today.  Thanks very much for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend.

Take care,

Rosanne

Varied Vases Thinking of You

Stampin Up Varied Vases Thinking of You card ideas - Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping

Today I’m sharing my first card made with the Varied Vases Bundle.  I knew I would really enjoy this set but just didn’t know how much until I sat down with it last week.  It’s such a versatile set and the punch makes it so quick and easy.  I did do some fussy cutting on the flowers but that too was pretty simple.

I also really like the Basket Weave embossing folder and thought it added just a perfect touch of texture to the white background.

The sentiment is from the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set which was a Sale-a-Bration free set and is now retired.  I’m hanging onto it mostly for the sentiments like this one.

The vase is stamped in Daffodil Delight ink and the flowers are colored using Mint Macaron, Peekaboo Peach and Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Markers.

A few glitter enamel dots adding the finishing touch!

A card is just not complete without a coordinating envelope…IMHO!  So…a pattern from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper collection lines the envelope.

I guarantee you’ll be seeing more designs from me using the Varied Vases Bundle, which will be available when the new Annual Catalog goes live on June 1st.  In the meantime, there’s still time to get some of the retiring products while they last HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Black, White and a POP of Red! – Tic Tac Toe Challenge #047

It’s Tic Tac Toe Thursday once again and this week’s board is both fun and challenging…

I must admit that when I first looked at the board, I thought I was in trouble!  A few of the squares are way out of my comfort zone but the card I came up with is not!  This is my kind of card in so many ways.

I chose the top left diagonal:  spring, red, die cut

The card base is Basic Black card stock with a mat of Whisper White cut 1/8″ smaller.

I used a non-SU die to cut the stitched angle on a pattern from the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper collection.  I really like this geometric pattern against the flower.

To create the bold flower, I used the Daisy Punch.  It’s punched three times using Real Red card stock.  The Crushed Curry center was cut with a Spellbinders die and the center was punched in Early Espresso card stock.  The Old Olive leaves were cut using a die from the May Flowers framelits.  The leaves are glued directly to the card and the flower is popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the new stamp set, Varied Vases, which will be available in the new Annual Catalog on June1st.  This photopolymer stamp set also comes with a coordinated punch and will be available as a bundle at a 10% savings.
