A Paper Pumpkin Peek

Stampin’ Up! has surprised us with a preview of the April Paper Pumpkin Kit but you only have today to sign up to get this particular kit.

I’m not a particularly nautical person but I think this set is fantastic.  And I know I will be able to easily come up with some fun alternate projects, too.

I must admit that I was not always a fan of Paper Pumpkin and subscribed only periodically.  However, after missing out on some pretty great kits, I decided to purchase a six month subscription and give it a real chance.  I already received the March kit and absolutely loved it.  So much so that I’m now offering at least three alternate project tutorials exclusively to all my Paper Pumpkin subscribers.  The tutorials will be sent as PDF’s via email after the kits are received, approximately the last week of the month.  These samples will not appear on the blog.  Some months there may be more than three but never less.  I actually went a little overboard with my March samples and can show a few here.

Here’s a little peek at one of the exclusive tutorials….

Here are the extra two I created…

I absolutely love the stamp set that was included in March’s kit.  The images and sentiments will be ones that I’ll use over and over again.

With the special 50% promotion going on right now on Paper Pumpkin, it’s the perfect time to try it for yourself…the value is pretty great!  You can read all about it HERE.

Again, today is the last day to sign up to receive the April kit above but you can still sign up after today to receive the May and June kit at 50% off.  If you have any questions about this or about my exclusive tutorial program, I’ll be happy to help.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Take care,

Rosanne

Sweet Thoughts of Friendship

Happy Wednesday! I’m happy to get back to posting projects after being away for a little bit.  I truly love sharing my cards here on the blog and hope it provides just a bit of inspiration along the way.  It’s also a happy day for me as I was supposed to have Jury Duty today but it was cancelled…what a relief!  I don’t know one person who doesn’t dread Jury Duty.  I live in a fairly large county but somehow my name comes up quite often.

The card I’m sharing today is one of my all-time favorite cards that I’ve made (so far).   Mostly because it came out exactly as I imagined it and that doesn’t happen very often for me.

Stampin Up Friendships Sweetest Thoughts Thinking of You Card - Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping

I mentioned yesterday today’s card would feature my favorite stamp set in the Occasions Catalog.  I think Friendship’s Sweetest Thoughts stamp set is such a charming set.  This set checks all the boxes for me:  the images are lovely and fun to color, the sentiments are so sweet and the fonts are fun and flirty.  I can tell you that although some of the sets in the 2018 Occasions Catalog will carry over into the new Annual Catalog,  this set will sadly retire on May 31st.  I’ve posted all the retiring products at the bottom of the post.

The card base is Whisper White thick card stock with a mat of Real Red cut 1/8″ smaller.  Using a piece of regular Whisper White card stock cut 1/4″ smaller, I die cut the window.  I used a non-SU die for this as it had just the shape I wanted to frame the flower card.  Stampin’ Up! Lots of Labels framelits would work just as well here too. After die-cutting, I embossed it with a retired polka dot embossing folder.  Because the die set I used had the same die in a variety of sizes, I was able to use a smaller one also to cut out the Real Red Window frame.

Before adhering the embossed Whisper White layer, I stamped the flower cart image on a piece of Whisper White card stock larger than the window opening and colored it using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.  I then centered the colored piece and glued it directly onto the Real Red panel.  The embossed panel is then adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For even greater dimension, I stamped the cart canopy again on a separate piece of Whisper White card stock  and used a black Sharpie to color the alternating stripes.  Then it was hand cut and adhered on top of the cart with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.  It’s such an easy step and makes a big difference.

The sentiment is also popped with dimensionals with a Real Red enamel heart added.

I think the inside sentiment is just so sweet.  An added strip of DSP from the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper collection was the perfect design to coordinate with the striped canopy on the front of the card.

Again, I used the retired Envelope Liner Framelits to line the envelope with the same Designer Series Paper pattern for a pretty finished and coordinated card.

This is such a sweet card to send to someone for just about any occasion or “just because” which is exactly why I will be sending it to a friend.  I love that this hobby allows me to make someone smile with the simple act of making and sending a card.  Not to mention, that it made me just as happy creating it….what a WIN/WIN!

Thanks so much for dropping in today and I hope that perhaps this post brightened your day and made you smile!

Take care,

Rosanne

Some Colorful News

Hello!  I can’t believe it’s been over a week since I last posted.  There is just so much to catch up on.  I was pretty sick over the Easter Holiday and into the beginning of last week with a terrible ear infection (which is the first time I’ve ever had one of those).  And I needed to get better quick as I was going to OnStage in Hartford, CT with some of the best girls around.

We rented a huge house and stamped, talked, laughed (a lot), and ate (a lot, too!).  It was a blast!  How great is it when you get to spend time doing what you love with others who love it just as much?!  Oh, and we did attend Stampin’ Up! OnStage event on Saturday which was also a lot of fun.  Stampin’ Up! never disappoints with their events.  Here is a picture of the fun group of girls I got to spend 4 days with…

And here is the house we stayed in. It was build in 1904, big and beautiful and just perfect for all the stamping supplies everyone brought, along with all the delicious food!

As I said, we did attend the OnStage Event and learned all about the fun new products Stampin’ Up! is introducing with the new Annual Catalog.  I’m sure most of you have already heard that there will be a color refresh.  This seems to happen about every five years or so.  I really look forward to it, as it’s really fun to work with some new colors even if it means saying goodbye to the old and sometimes favorite ones.  Here are the fresh new colors we can look forward to very soon….

Along with the BRAND NEW colors, a few old favorites that have been gone awhile are coming back.  This is really great as a few of these were my favorites!  Also note, that Flirty Flamingo is one of the In-Colors retiring but it’s been added to the permanent line-up now.

So with all the changes, the color families have been re-arranged a little.  Here’s how they’ll be organized.

And…here are the In-Colors.  Look how bright and vibrant the new 2018-2020 collection is!

The colors that will be retiring are:

  • Always Artichoke
  • Chocolate Chip
  • Elegant Eggplant
  • Island Indigo
  • Marina Mist
  • Perfect Plum
  • Pink Pirouette
  • Rose Red
  • Soft Sky
  • Tangerine Tango
  • Tempting Turquoise
  • Wild Wasabi
  • Wisteria Wonder

If some of these are your favorites, I say keep on using them.  And if you really love any of them and will sorely miss them, make sure to order a supply before they are out of stock for good.

Wow, I hope this wasn’t too much color overload but there is always so much going on this time of year and the color refresh just adds a bit more excitement!  And there is still more to tell, but I’ll save that for another post.

If I haven’t exhausted you yet, here is the list of retiring products from the Occasions Catalog and the Annual Catalog.  I know it’s hard to take it all in at once and there really isn’t too much urgency on the retiring stamps sets, as Stampin’ Up! will continue to make them until the end of the catalog period.  However, all the other retiring products are while supplies last!

Thanks for hanging in there with me here.  I’ll be back tomorrow with a project using one of my favorite sets from the Occasions Catalog that’s, you guessed it, retiring soon!

Take care,

Rosanne

More Note Cards with Matching Wallets

Happy Friday…I hope you’re getting ready for a beautiful Easter weekend.  I’ve been battling a really nasty cold that just won’t give up.  I’m hoping it won’t spoil my holiday.

I posted a set of Thank You Note Cards with a matching “wallet” to hold them earlier in the week.  You can see that post HERE.  Well, when I’m having fun creating something, it’s hard for me to stop.  I kept the same stamp design but changed up the Designer Series Paper.  For these I used 2 pattern designs from the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP.  I thought these pretty patterns matched perfectly with the flower image from the Amazing You stamp set.

Here are the sets I created…

I was excited to see how the different patterns translated into such pretty sets.

The tutorial I followed to create the wallet was a You Tube video by Stampin’ Up! demonstrator France Martin.  You can view it HERE.

Even though we’re saying goodbye to Sale-A-Bration 2018 tomorrow, I know that I will be using many of the sets I earned for some time to come…they are just that good!  Click HERE for a last minute look.

Thanks very much for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend and a very happy Easter.

Take care,

Rosanne
