Celebrating & Sharing What I Love -TTTC #045

It’s Thursday and that means a brand new Tic Tac Toe Challenge. I had the honor of creating this week’s board.  I hope you’ll find the elements creative as well as fun and will play along with us.

For my card today, I chose the first row across:  Floral, Metallic, Die Cut/Punch

I think what I’m celebrating most about this card is the fabulous new Designer Series Paper collection, Share What You Love.  I shared another card featuring a pattern from this collection HERE.  As I mentioned before, this paper is absolutely beautiful with hints of metallic in some of the patterns.  Unfortunately, the pictures really don’t convey the total beauty.  But please take my word for it…it’s stunning! You won’t even have to wait until the new Annual Catalog goes live on June 1st to order it…it will be available for purchase as part of the Share What You Love Suite on May 1st.

I’m also really pleased with the card stock colors that this collection coordinates with.  Tranquil Tide was not a color I used very often, if at all.  But look how pretty it looks with this floral pattern.  And a returning favorite color, Mint Macaron is featured also.  Luckily, I still had a few pieces of it to use on today’s card.

The card base is my go-to Whisper White thick card stock.  What a difference this heavier card stock makes! It just give the card so much “heft”!  Each additional layer is cut 1/8″ smaller than the last.  The next layer is Silver foil paper, followed by Tranquil Tide card stock.  I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper at 3 7/8″ x 3 1/4″, then on the 3 1/4″ side cut it again at 1 3/4″.  This gave me two pieces measuring 3 7/8″ x 1 3/4″ and 3 7/8″ x 1 1/2″ that I positioned from the top and bottom.  I trimmed each piece with a 3 7/8″ x 1/4″ strip of Silver Foil paper in the center of the card.

Using the Big Shot along with the Precision Base Plate, I cut the celebrate from the Celebrate You thinlits.  These were a free items from the Sale-a-Bration catalog but will be available in the new Annual Catalog.  So if you missed them, you’ll be able to purchase them soon.  I use this particular thinlit a lot!  It’s cut twice  here: once in Silver Foil paper and again in Mint Macaron card stock.  The offset layering gives it a little more dimension and shadowing.

The inside sentiment, from the Happy Birthday, Gorgeous stamp set is stamped in Tranquil Tide ink.

Adding small strips of Designer Series Paper and card stock are quick and easy ways to embellish the inside of cards and outsides of envelopes.  Besides creating a very pretty card, it’s a great way to use up those little scraps.

I hope you enjoyed another little peek at this beautiful new Designer Series Paper which you’ll be able to order next week.  I also hope that you’ll head over to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge and see all the creative designs and play along with us.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful day,

A “Happy” Share What You Love Birthday

Stampin Up Happy Birthday Thinlit Birthday Card Idea - Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping

A touch of new together with a few older products created a fresh and pretty birthday card.  What’s new is the pretty floral pattern in the Share What You Love Designer Series Paper.  Pictures of this paper collection really don’t do it justice…it is so much prettier when you actually see it.  Patterns like the one I used on this card have touches of metallic. The flowers in this pattern match the champagne foil sheets.  You won’t even have to wait until the new Annual Catalog goes live on June 1st to order this beautiful paper collection.  It will be available to everyone beginning on May 1st!

I also love the card stock colors that this collection coordinates with.  So Saffron is my favorite yellow and I don’t use it nearly enough so I was happy to see it included in this DSP.

My card started with this terrific layout.  I collect card layouts in a small binder and frequently look through it as my starting point for a card.  I wanted to incorporate a subtle layer of Champagne Foil so I added a few more layers than the original layout but it certainly got the ball rolling.

You’ll notice that I only used the “Happy” from the The Happy Birthday thinlit. It’s easy to cut the words apart and makes the thinlit that much more versatile.  It was cut twice: once in Basic Black card stock and once in Champagne Foil.  They were offset and layered together.  The banner below was created using the Banner Triple punch.  I discovered something new while using this punch recently…you don’t have to use it in just the sizes on the punch.  You can cut your card stock in a variety of in between sizes and just center it on the punch to get different sized banners and layers.  This makes the punch even more useful!

Here’s another trick I used on the banner.  I wanted to use a sentiment from the Best Birds stamp set.  The stamp actually says happy birthday but I only needed it to say birthday.  So I stamped it in Basic Black ink and then covered the word happy with washi tape and stamped it on the banner.  The font just worked well with the scripty font of the thinlit.

Now I had to find a sentiment for the inside and this one from the Cake Soiree stamp set fit the bill! I  enjoy embellishing the insides of cards as well as the envelopes just as much as creating the card fronts. Then I always have cards that are perfectly coordinated and ready to be given or mailed.

Black & White and a Beautiful Bouquet

Stampin Up Beautiful Bouquet Friendship Card Idea -Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping

There’s just something about the color combination of black and white with a lot of white space that screams clean and classic to me.  I created today’s card for my OnStage swap with my group of Stamping Sisters.

The focal point is of course the pretty bouquet of flowers that were created using the Beautiful Bouquet Bundle.  This bundle is packed with pretty floral images along with beautifully scripted sentiments and coordinating framelits…check, check, check!

The colorful bouquet really pops against the simple background of the strip of DSP from the Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper collection and a piece of silver washi tape.  This is my favorite pattern from the collection and I didn’t have much left so this simple design fit the bill perfectly when making several of these cards.

Even though I love the sentiments and fonts in the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set, I chose this sentiment from the retiring Birthday Blooms stamp set just because it was so appropriate for the swap among friends.

I kept the inside simple with just a piece of DSP across the bottom and left it blank for a personal note.

I’m happy that the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and coordinating Bouquet Bunch framelits will be returning the in the new Annual Catalog.  However, they will not be available at the bundled price.  You can still order them now for a 10% cost savings until May 31st.

As I mentioned, the beloved Birthday Blooms stamp set will be retiring on May 31 along with many other terrific products.  You can see all the retiring products HERE.  If any of these products are on your wish list, now is the time to act, as the list has been getting shorter as products are selling out.

Thanks very much for checking in today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  Next week, I’ll be featuring a few sneak peeks of my Paper Pumpkin alternate projects that are exclusive to my PP subscribers.

Take care,

Rosanne

A Simply Charming Mother’s Day

I hope your week is going well so far and we’re half way to the weekend…YAY!  Today’s card is totally a “me” card.  I think my style would be categorized (mostly) as clean, simple and classic and that’s exactly how I would describe this card.

Stampin Up Bike Ride Mother's Day Card Idea - Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping

Even though this card has lots of white space, the embossed texture adds a pretty element while keeping it clean and simple.

The card base is Whisper White thick card stock.  A piece of Real Red card stock cut at 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ is layered with a piece of Whisper White regular card stock cut an additional 1/8″ smaller.  I embossed the Whisper White layer with the Quilt Topper Embossing Folder before gluing it directly to the Real Red card stock.  The photo looks a bit like Cherry Cobbler.  Although Cherry Cobbler would be equally as pretty!

Before adhering the whole panel to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals, I wrapped it with a piece of 1/2″ Smoky Slate Gingham ribbon.

The sentiment, from the Friendship’s Sweetest Thoughts stamp set, is stamped in Basic Black on a piece of Whisper White card stock measuring 1 1/8″ X 3 3/4″.  I backed it with a Real Red panel cut at 1 1/4″ x 3 3/4″.  This panel is glued directly to the embossed panel with Tombow glue.

The sweet little basket of flowers are from the Bike Ride Bundle.  I stamped the basket in Soft Suede ink and colored the flowers using Stampin’ Write markers.  They were cut using the coordinating Build a Bike framelits and popped with dimensionals. Along with creating a fun bike, this bundle has so many cute little stamps and dies that can be used alone.  I actually love to use these “accessory” stamps and dies for this exact reason not to mention that it adds more value to your purchase.  This bundle is available in the current Annual Catalog for a savings of 10%.  However, it will be in the new Annual Catalog but not at the bundled price. I plan on giving this bundle more of my attention in the future!

To finish off the front, I added a pretty little gingham bow which I think just adds to the charm!

Stampin Up Bike Ride Mother's Day Card Idea -Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping

The inside sentiment is from March’s Paper Pumpkin kit.  I have been getting so much mileage from these sentiments.  This is just another great reason to subscribe to the monthly Paper Pumpkin kits. Even if you use  up all the paper products in the kit, the stamps and ink can be used indefinitely.

Stampin Up Bike Ride Mother's Day Card Ideas - Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping

A quick run through the Big Shot with the Quilt Top Embossing Folder and the envelope is perfectly coordinated with the card….so easy!

Although my card here is a Mother’s Day card, it could easily be for almost any occasion by just changing the sentiment.

Thanks very much for stopping by today. I do appreciate that you take the time to look in on my projects. If you have any questions, please just leave them in the comments.  I do read and answer each comment.  And if you are not currently working with a demonstrator, I would love to be yours!
