Fresh Floral Notecards

I’m so glad it’s Friday…what a discombobulated week this has been!  Here in SE Pennsylvania we were hit with our 4th Nor’easter in as many weeks.  We only got about 6″ of snow but it sure did disrupt the first week of Spring, not to mention crush the daffodils that were starting to bloom!

So my card share today is all about fresh and pretty with the hopes that Spring will come and stay!

Stampin Up Fresh Florals Notecard Set - Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping

I love making sets of notecards especially when there are so many coordinating products to choose from.  Stampin’ Up! makes it so easy to coordinate stamps, card stock, designer series paper, inks, ribbons and embellishments.  This is what draws most people into the world of Stampin’ Up! I know that’s one of the things I love most about this company.  You can always count on lots of style and coordination.

I used the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper, which features all the 2017-2019 In-Colors.  This paper will probably retire at the end of this catalog season on May 31st, so I wanted to use some of it and these cards were the perfect project.

Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper #144131

The image, from the Floral Phrases stamp set, is heat embossed in white embossing powder.  A few pearls scattered around the image is a pretty detail.  I then layered it on a stitched rectangle and wrapped a color coordinated ribbon tied in a bow around it before adhering it to the DSP and card base.  I must admit it took me awhile to get the bow just right since it needed to lay flat on the card.

A strip of DSP adds a bit of interest to the inside, which is left blank for a personal note.

Here is each color….

I used a coordinating pattern from the Fresh Florals DSP collection to line the envelope.  I’m still using the retired Envelope Liner Framelits as I think they are a fabulous, not to mention easy, way to embellish envelopes.

These five notecards and envelopes fit perfectly into one of the Acetate Card Boxes that are a carry over item from the Holiday Catalog.  I thought about embellishing the box but once I put the cards in, I thought that the card front was embellishment enough.  Note card sets are great to have on hand as hostess gifts or teacher gifts.

Birthday Blooms Gift Card Holder

Stampin Up Birthday Blooms Mini Treat Bag Gift Card Holder - Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping

I may have mentioned it a time or two but here it is again…I love this big flower image in the Birthday Blooms stamp set.  This set has been around for a few catalogs and it’s days may be numbered but it’s staying with me for a long time.

I used it on today’s project along with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits to create a gift card holder for a co-worker who was retiring.

The treat bag is cut out using the Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper which is a free product available only during Sale-a-bration.  This paper is simply gorgeous!

After stamping the flower image with Versa Mark ink, it was heat embossed with copper embossing powder and then colored using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.  Coloring on an embossed image is so easy because the embossing creates a raised border which makes it easy to “stay in the lines”.  And the Stampin’ Blends go on so smooth and even.

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, the bloom is adhered to a Delicate White doilie.  The doilie creates a pretty, feminine  backdrop.  The sentiment, from the Wild About Flowers stamp set, is also heat embossed in copper embossing powder.  It’s cut out with the smallest die from the Lots of Labels framelits.

I created an inside card using Powder Pink and Very Vanilla card stock.  I don’t have the exact measurements as I’ve already given the card away. On one side, I created a pocket for the gift card and stamped another sentiment from the Wild About Flowers stamp set.  On the other side, the floral image is from the Bloomin Love stamp set and both are stamped in Soft Suede ink.  I left the back side blank so everyone could write a message to our co-worker.

Special Note:  Before gluing the Very Vanilla card stock to the back of the card, I cut another small label from Lots of Labels framelits, punched a small hole in the center and positioned it as a tab to pull the card from the treat bag.

I think that the Mini Treat Bags make such a perfect presentation for gift cards.  It’s almost like getting a present with the present!

Thanks very much for checking in today and I hope your having a happy hump day!

Take care,

A Flourishing Congratulations

Happy Monday…I hope you enjoyed a wonderful weekend.  I spent the weekend with my one and only grandson, Jack and had a fantastic time with him.  I love spending time with and taking care of this sweet and always happy little guy!

Ok, so enough Grandma gushing and onto today’s card.  I cased a non-SU card that I found on Pinterest and using all Stampin’ Up! products created this Congratulations card.

I really like the classic look of black and white but love the subtle pop of color of Very Vanilla on the butterfly.

The card base is Whisper White thick card stock.  I stamped the sentiment, from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set in Basic Black Archival ink.

The next panel consists of a piece of Basic Black card stock  cut at 3 1/8″ x 5 3/8″.  I embossed a piece of Whisper White card stock which is cut 1/8″ smaller with the Layering Leaves embossing folder and glued it to the Basic Black card stock.  These two panels were then adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The coordinating, Flourish Thinlits created the pretty flower and leaf design.  The butterfly was cropped from the Butterflies Thinlits and Bold Butterfly Framelits.  A few pearls on the butterfly body adds a touch of elegance.

I thought this pretty design would make the perfect wedding card.  But it could be used for almost any occasion.

The inside sentiment is also from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set, which has so many wonderful sentiments, making it one of the sets I will hold onto for a very long time and use over and over again.  The sentiment is actually two separate stamps lined up on one block and stamped at the same time.  An added image from the same set embellishes the corner.

Nothing could be easier but have such a pretty impact on the envelope than embossing the flap.  I think it’s such a beautiful way to tie the project together.

I’m entering this card in the Festive Friday Challenge HERE.

Remember that if you haven’t already taken advantage of Sale-A-Bration or just want to get those few extra FREE products, this fabulous promotion only lasts until March 31.  You can see all the products available HERE (more have been added last week).

Monogrammed Note Cards – Tic Tac Toe Challenge #039

Stampin Up Touches of Texture Mongrammed Note Card Sets - Rosanne Mulhern

It’s Thursday and that means it’s time for another Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  This week’s board, created by Felicita at lisaluvs2stamp.com, provided a bit of a challenge for me.  I guess that’s the whole idea!

There were a lot of elements that I felt were out of my wheelhouse so I took the safest route I could on this one to stay true to my style and the kind of cards I like to make.

Second Row Across: Watercolor, Any Type of Accent, Monogrammed

Stampin Up Touches of Texture Mongrammed Note Cards Set - Rosanne Mulhern

These are created using the Very Vanilla Note Cards and Envelopes which happen to be one of the best values in the catalog..IMHO! A set of 20 are only $6.00 and are available in Very Vanilla or Whisper White.  I like to give these as extra incentives for ordering or just as special thank you’s to my customers because they’re so versatile and useful.  They also offer the same great quality card stock and envelopes that Stampin’ Up! is so noted for.  To me, they’re just one of those staple products that I seem to throw in my cart each time I place an order because I like to keep a good supply on hand.

The colors I chose were dictated by the 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon I had in Calypso Coral and Island Indigo.  This ribbon also comes in Lemon Lime Twist but I chose not to use that one.

The flowers, from the Touches of Textures stamp set, are stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink and colored using the coordinating ink color and an Aqua Painter, thus the watercoloring.  I don’t use this coloring technique too often but I do like it and it’s very easy.  The leaves are colored in Pear Pizzazz ink.  For a little more detail, I added tiny pearls to the flower centers.  I also used Clear Wink of Stella on the flowers but we all know that it doesn’t photograph well but it does give them a pretty sparkle.

The stamped panel is glued directly to a color coordinated piece of card stock.  Before adhering the two panels to the note card, I wrapped them with a piece of 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon.  Then glued them to the note card.

Using the Label Me Pretty stamp set and coordinating Pretty Label Punch, I stamped and punched the label in Pear Pizzazz card stock.  The monogram is stamped in Basic Black ink using a stamp from the Brushwork Alphabet stamp set and cut with a circle framelit from the Layering Circles framelits. I glued it to a circle cut from the Stitched Shapes framelits and popped them onto the label.

The inside is simply stamped with the same floral image and colored.

I dug into my retired Designer Series Paper to find a color coordinated pattern to embellish the envelope flap.  I’m so glad that I saved these retired papers and really miss that they’re no longer in the catalog.  I’m hoping they may return sometime.

I purchased some clear boxes that are just the perfect size for these notecards.  I thought about embellishing the box but though the cards made a pretty presentation by themselves.  These would make a perfect little hostess gift.  Here’s the link for the boxes

I hope you’ll head over to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge to see the rest of the Design Teams creations and enter one of your own.
