I hope you had a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving weekend. Mine was spent enjoying some uninterrupted time in my craft room. I am participating in a color challenge at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge. Here is the very seasonal color combination.

I wasn’t completely sure how to incorporate black into this while still trying to make a holiday card. But I think the little bit of black that I did use was just enough to really bring out the other two colors.

While I am a true fan of Stampin’ Up! sometimes I like to reach into my other stamps for a little change. This time I thought this adorable House Mouse stamp would be fun to work with. I love these mice and have quite a collection of stamps featuring them…so stay tuned for more. All the cardstock and DSP is from Stampin’ Up! The stockings were paper pieced to create the pattern on them. The sentiment is from SU’s Peaceful Wreath set and is stamped in Cucumber Crush ink. And until I invest in some stitched dies, I created my own stitches around the image with Watermelon Wonder marker.

I embellished the inside of the card with some DSP and Cardstock for a little added interest along with the envelope flap. This card is ready to go into my stash of Christmas cards to send out in the next week or two. I do love having a variety of cards to send depending on the recipient.

A Winter Bunny – #GDP012

Playing along with the Global Design Project once again this week. This week’s challenge was a CASE the Designer. Brian King’s cute winter card was our inspiration.

I decided to follow along with Brian’s snow theme.

This card uses a combination of products from several stamp companies. The adorable sledding bunny is Lawn Fawn’s Winter Bunny stamp and coordinating die. I paper pierced the scarf with a piece of DSP. The hills were made with a landscaping framelit from W plus 9 and the Cardstock and DSP is Stampin’ Up! I embossed my snowy hills with SU’s Softly Falling Embossing Folder.

I just followed my fun winter theme to the inside of the card using a retired SU sentiment. The snowflakes are from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set. This inspiration came from another Brian King card.

I also gave the envelope a little attention with some snowflakes and DSP.

PPA #276 – Merry Santas

Playing along today with the Pals Paper Arts challenge and getting another one in under the wire. Here is the sketch for this week:

When I first looked at this sketch, I thought it would be a cinch. Maybe I was over-thinking it, but when it came time to make a card, I was stumped! That’s why this card is just going to make it in the challenge on time. It was stuck in my head too long!

WARNING: No stamps were inked in the making of this card!

I simply turned the sketch and made the card a non-standard size to accommodate the three Santas. The card is 4 1/4″ x 7″. I used the heavy stock Whisper White cardstock for the base and a piece of DSP from the Brights Designer Series Stack in Old Olive.

I really dug into my “tool” box for this card. I used the Christmas Greetings Thinlits Dies for the Merry sentiment and cut it out with the Red Foil paper. Then used the 1 3/4″ Scallop Punch along with the 1 3/8″ circle punch to frame the little Santas, which were cut from the super cute Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper. Each of the circles were popped with dimensionals.

Not sure why this sketch gave me so much trouble, as this card came together super fast.

Be Thankful

Hello…hope you are having a somewhat relaxing Sunday given that it is the weekend before Thanksgiving. I am playing along with the Stamp, Ink, Paper sketch challenge this week and getting this project in just under the wire! Here is the sketch and it is a good one….

I saw a card created by Windy Ellard, who is in a stamping group I belong to and absolutely loved it. You can see Windy’s card here. I thought the design would work well with this sketch but I did change it up a bit.

I created the centerpiece using the Vintage Leaves stamp set and coordinating dies along with a sentiment from the hostess set, Six Sayings. This is my favorite stamp in the set but the others are really great too. I stamped the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss and fussy cut it and then matted it in Blackberry Bliss and fussy cut again. The leaves are stamped in Crumb Cake. The cardstock is Blackberry Bliss and the DSP is from the Farmers Market Designer Series Paper . I popped the leaves and sentiment with dimensionals for a little umph!

I added a little DSP to the inside of the card and stamped the front of the envelope as well as adding some DSP to the envelope flap. I really love gingham and love this paper. I am actually running low on it and will have to order another package soon, just for the checks!
