Clean & Simple Christmas

I’m playing along with two challenges today.  The Global Design Project has a color challenge and Stamp Ink Paper has a theme challenge.GDP009 Challenge      SIP-Challenge-20-CAS-Christmas

I haven’t really mastered the art of making a card that fits multiple challenges mostly because I don’t check more than one challenge site at a time.  This time however, I simply got lucky.  I originally designed this card using the color challenge and noticed that it fit the bill for a CAS Christmas card also.

I wasn’t sure how these colors would translate into a festive Christmas card but I am really happy with the retro-look of it.  It was actually very surprising to me how much I like the way this turned out.

Even the envelope was fun to make.

I will definitely be making a few more of these to send out for the holiday.   I’ve listed all the products used on this card below.

Thanks for stopping by.  I welcome your comments or would be happy to answer any questions.

Have a wonderful day,

PPA #273 – Peaceful Wreath

Hello and welcome.  I am back today with a Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge.

10-22-PPA-273

This was a fun sketch to work with and I had a few ideas for it as I have a few new holiday sets to break in.

I particularly love the vellum embossed Peace banner across the wreath.  It is hard to see in the photo so here is a close up. It is really very pretty and was hard to capture that beauty in a photo.

Once I decided on the Peaceful Wreath stamp set, which is in the Holiday Catalog, this card came together fairly quickly.  I absolutely LOVE wreaths…for every and all occasions so whenever a wreath stamp set comes out, it comes to my house.  Stampin’ Up! has several great wreath sets right now and they all coordinate with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits.  After I stamped and cut the wreath, I colored it with markers and highlighted the berries with some Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details. With the Dazzling Details and the Red Foil paper this card sparkles and shines!

The cardstock and ink for the inside sentiment is Real Red and the Designer Series paper is from the Merry Moments paper stack.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and I thank you for taking some time to check it out.

Have a wonderful Monday!

GDP #007 – Harvest Blessings

The challenge at the Global Design Project this week is a theme challenge.

GDP007 - Theme Farm

I do love all things country and “farmy” but that love really has not translated into my stamp collection yet.  However, I strayed a little from Stampin’ Up! recently and purchased a stamp and die set from My Favorite Things called Harvest Mouse.  I saw a few samples using this adorable set and could not resist.

I also recently started collecting Copic Markers since SU’s Blendabilities went away.  So this was a perfect set to start practicing coloring with Copics.

I am rationalizing this card with the theme because my cute little mouse is gathering pumpkins that were grown on a farm (somewhere)!  The card base is Very Vanilla and the cardstock is Blackberry Bliss.  The DSP is from the Farmer’s Market Designer Series Paper.  The ribbon is the 5/8″ Striped Cotton Ribbon in Blackberry Bliss and the bow is tied with Linen Thread.

I hope you enjoyed this little diversion and wish you a wonderful day,

Rosanne

FaBOOlous Treats

Today I am participating the the Stamp Ink Paper Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  This was a lot of fun and came together very easily since I am wrapping up my Halloween cards and treats for this year.  It was the perfect opportunity to sneak one more in!  Here is the grid we had to follow.

SIP-Tic-Tac-Toe-19-800

I choose to take a diagonal route and make a Halloween project on patterned paper using sequins.

This treat holder came together super fast using the Square Pillow Box Die.  I cut the window with the Tags and Labels Framelits.  These are so useful and a really great value as you get 13 layering dies in this set.  I used two of them to make the window and the frame.  The frame is made from the black glimmer paper.  After the box was made the fun really started when I embellished it.

Since these treats will be going to my grown daughters, I didn’t want to make them too childish.  Although as long as there was chocolate, I am sure childish would have been just fine, too!  And since I think my girls are fabulous anyway, this sentiment was perfect.  The dies for the hat and wand are from the Boo to You Framelits. The hat is backed with a Spider Web doilie for a little more drama because you know with having three daughters there was always a lot of drama!  The sentiment is from the Six Sayings hostess set and heat embossed in black embossing powder and then fussy cut.  I “blinged” the hat and wand with some rhinestones.  The sequins I used are just some random ones I had.

I think my girls will enjoy this little treat as much as I enjoyed making them.

Thanks very much for stopping by.  I welcome your comments or would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
