Flowers for Every Season Birthday Card

My card today is a cheerful, summery birthday card. I have a few friends with June birthdays and want to create especially “happy” cards for them this year. Although, I guess I always try to create those kinds of birthday cards but it was more so in my mind this year. All the “pretty” on this card came from the new Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper. As sad as I was to see the Best Dressed DSP retire, I was equally happy to see this new paper. It’s so bright and cheerful and highlights the new In-Colors beautifully. I’ve already made a few cards with it and keep coming up with more ideas…it’s that inspiring!

Today’s card is a fun fold and came together surprisingly quickly…for me. I’ll admit that I labor over some of these cards a little too much. So when I create a card relatively quickly and I’m pleased with it, I’m pretty surprised.

Here is the fold which would be consider a gate fold. It’s a regular 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ card and it’s scored at 2 1/2″ and 6 1/2″ to create two front panels.

The daises that I like so much work really well with this paper, along with the new Celebrate Sunflowers stamps, which I’ll get to soon!

I did use a sentiment from the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set for the inside along with a sentiment from the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set.

You may have noticed that I’ve changed up my blogging format a little today and didn’t give measurements or directions like I usually do. Instead of listing everything here, I’ve created a downloadable PDF for this project. This will have all photos and card directions that can be viewed and printed out for future reference.

New Catalog Favorite – Forever Greenery

New catalog debut day is always fun and exciting. It just never gets old for me and I hope you’re just as excited to see all the fun new products. While I love and have purchased a lot of new products, I was especially drawn to the Forever Greenery Suite. This suite is full of beautiful foliage and was a nice change from all the floral sets. I’ve seen so many beautiful cards created with this set already. Throughout the month, I’ll be featuring this set often and also offering free tutorials. Come take a look at today’s card…

Card Measurements

Front

Whisper White Thick: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
Just Jade: 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ & 1 5/8″ x 5 1/8″
Soft Sea Foam: 5 1/4″ x 4″
DSP: 1 1/2″ x 5″

Inside

Just Jade cardstock: 5 ¼” x 4” & 5” x ¼” strip
Whisper White cardstock: 5” x 3 ¾” & 5” x ¼ ” strip
Forever Greenery DSP: 5” x ½”

Details

Dry Emboss the Soft Sea Foam card panel using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. This embossing folder is going to be so useful. I love the subtle pattern.
Glue the Soft Sea Foam cardstock to the Just Jade cardstock and adhere both to the Whisper White card base.
Glue the Forever Greenery DSP panel to the thin Just Jade cardstock panel and adhere both to the left side of the card front.
Using a die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies, cut a label from the 2020-2022 In-Color DSP in Just Jade. Cut another label from Just Jade cardstock and trim the top and bottom of the label.
Adhere the label to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Stamp the sentiment, from the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set on a piece of Whisper White cardstock with Versa Mark ink and heat emboss with black embossing powder.
Flag the sentiment.
Using a die from the Forever Flourishing Dies, cut and layer. These are glued to the label.
Lastly, a small enamel dot is added to the center of the leaf spray.

The inside sentiment is from the Beautiful Friendship stamp set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Strips of Just Jade, Whisper White and DSP are added to the left side.

I coordinated the envelope by adding the same DSP to the flap.

Come Sail Away Memories & More Father’s Day Card

I’m going to squeeze in one more card created with a Memories & More Card Pack. Today’s card features the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack. In my previous post HERE, I mentioned how much I like these card packs that are, in my opinion, mostly overlooked and hidden deep in each catalog. They’re always chock full of awesome card fronts in various sizes as well as so many coordinating embellishments. The cards practically make themselves using these packs!

I created a Father’s Day card that’s actually a “card on a card” as the front card is a gift card holder. I guess you could consider this a fun fold.

Materials & Measurements

Card Base

Crumb Cake card base: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
Mossy Meadow card stock: 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
Card Pack card front: 5 1/4″ x 4″
Mossy Meadow card stock: 5 1/4″ x 4″ (inside)
Very Vanilla card stock: 5″ x 3 3/4″ (inside)

Gift Card Holder

Crumb Cake card stock: 6 1/2″ x 4 1/4″, score at 3 1/4″
Mossy Meadow card stock: 4 1/8″ x 3 1/8″
Card Pack card front: 4″ x 3″
Mossy Meadow card stock: 4″ x 2″ (inside pocket)
Come Sail Away DSP: 3 7/8″ x 1 7/8″

Details

Layer the larger card front and Mossy Meadow card stock to the card front.
For the gift card holder, glue the Crumb Cake card to the larger card front.
Glue the small card front to the Mossy Meadow panel.
Adhere these to the small card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals

Create the gift card pocket and adhere with Tear & Tape on the sides and bottom
The sentiment and anchor are stickers included in the Memories & More Card Pack.

I combined two sentiments from a new stamp set available in the upcoming Annual Catalog called Many Mates. This set has a variety of simple sentiments for many different occasions.
The rope trim at the bottom and the banner in the top corner are also stickers from the card pack.
The envelope is embellished with a strip of DSP and card stock for a nice finishing touch.

Thinking of You with Magnolia Lane Memories & More

Happy Memorial Day! It surely has a different feel this year but certainly just as meaningful. It actually still feels like a long holiday weekend even though being at home has been the norm for the past two months. I was cleaning up my desk this weekend getting ready to start creating with some of the new products in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog when I came across the Magnolia Lane Memories & More Card Pack. This pack is loaded with so many fantastic elements that make fast, easy and beautiful cards. This one came together super quick with minimal stamping.

Materials & Measurements

- Whisper White card base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Mossy Meadow card stock: 5 1/4″ x 4″ & 4 1/8″ x 3 1/8″
- Patterned Card: 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ & 3″ x 4″
- Mossy Meadow: 5 1/4″ x 4″ (inside)
- Whisper White card stock: 5″ x 3 3/4″ (inside)

Details

Glue patterned cards to Mossy Meadow layers.
Wrap a piece of Old Olive ribbon around the larger patterned card and secure. This ribbon came from the Botanical Prints Product Medley.
Glue this panel to the card base.
Adhere the smaller patterned card with Stampin Dimensionals to the card front.

Stamp the sentiment, from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set, in Versa Mark and heat emboss with black embossing powder.
Punch sentiment with the Timeless Label punch. Punch another label in Mossy Meadow to trim the sides of the white label.
Adhere the sentiment label to the card with dimensionals.
The pretty magnolia embellishment is a sticker that’s included in the card pack.

The inside sentiment is from the Floral Essence stamp set. I’ve used this sentiment so many times as it’s just perfect for a many different occasions.
I trimmed the side with a leftover scrap from the front panel.

To embellish the envelope, I trimmed another one of the cards included in the Memories & More card pack. I really like how it coordinates with the card.

The current annual catalog has two Memories & More Card Pack: Magnolia Lane and Come Sail Away. I purchased both of these and have made a lot of quick cards with each. I think these little kits are hidden gems. They’re packed with so many unique card patterns, as well as embellishments and are such a pretty compliment to the coordinating stamp sets. They’re also very inexpensive at only $11.00! I’m looking forward to the Memories & More kits available in the new catalog.
