A Week of Lots of Happy!

Happy Monday!  Today I’m featuring something a little different on my blog.  I will be posting a project each day using the Lots of Happy Card Kit available NOW in the new Occasions Catalog.

I have had the most fun putting together this weeks’ worth of posts featuring the images and products from this kit.  However, I only purchased the refill and used sentiments from my Stampin’ Up! sets that I already had.  I also used Stampin’ Blends to color the images that came with the refill kit.  I think this is just another testament to the versatility and value you can find with Stampin’ Up! Kits.  After all, it’s really all about the creativity, so I just got a little more creative and came up with a week of alternate projects along with the projects featured in the video.

Stampin Up Lots of Happy Card Kit Birthday Card - Rosanne Mulhern

Here’s the details

  • The card base, Whisper White card stock layer and striped Designer Series Paper is from the Lots of Happy Card Kit Refill.  This was so easy since everything is already pre-cut and scored.
  • Using the Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon included with the kit, I wrapped it vertically around the DSP layer and added a small bow.
  • I popped the Whisper White and DSP layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals unto the card base.

  • The floral image is also included in the kit and was so relaxing to color with Stampin’ Blends. After coloring the flowers, I added a bit of Clear Wink of Stella to each of the blooms.  It gives them a pretty shimmer.
  • The vellum leaves, also included in the kit, were sponged with Pear Pizzazz ink.
  • The sentiment is from the Birthday Blooms stamp set and is stamped in Basic Black ink and cropped with the Layering Circles Framelits.
  • Another circle is cut from Lemon Lime Twist card stock.
  • As a finishing touch, I added a few iridescent sequins.

  • The inside sentiment is also from the Birthday Blooms stamp set.
  • A little strip of card stock give the inside a splash of color!
  • The envelope that was included with the kit needed no help from me!

I was most surprised by how much fun I had using the elements in this kit and the versatility of all the products.  I love the clean look of this card…it’s my kind of card and what I’m most comfortable creating. I hope that you’ll come back tomorrow to see alternate card from the Lots of Happy Card Kit refill.

Take care,

Rosanne

Baby, It’s (really) Cold Outside – TTTC #29

Welcome back to the first Tic Tac Toe Challenge of 2018.  This week’s challenge board is so relative given the fact that the temperature here in SE Pennsylvania has been below freezing since right after Christmas.

I loved all the winter elements that Felicita gave us to work with this week as I was definitely in a winter frame of mind!

Tic Tac Toe Challenge - Lawn Fawn - Rosanne Mulhern

I reached for some non-SU products to create this card.  I’m a huge fan of Lawn Fawn’s sweet images and have had this Winter Alpaca set for quite some time.  The sentiment could not be more perfect!

Here’s the details

  • The A2 card base is Whisper White thick card stock with a gingham pattern measuring 4″ x 5 1/2″.

  • I cut a circle from the Layering Circles framelits and stamped the snowflakes with Versa Mark ink from the newly retired, Tags and Trimmings stamp set.  They’re heat embossed with white embossing powder.
  • Some tiny pearls accent the center of some of the snowflakes.
  • A scalloped framelit from the Layering Circles created a frame. This is adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The adorable alpaca was stamped with Black Memento ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends markers.
  • I stamped him again on patterned paper and pieced it to create the scarf.  He, too, is popped with Dimensionals.

  • The sentiment is stamped on Crumb Cake card stock and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
  • The envelope is embellished with the same patterned paper used on the scarf.

  • Another cute little sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s Winter Alpaca set stamped on the inside, leaves room for a personal note.

A Stocking was Hung

Stampin Up Hang Your Stocking Christmas Cards - Rosanne Mulhern

Happy Monday…I hope you are ready for another week leading up to the holidays.  I also hope that you’re enjoying the preparations and finding a little time for stamping and relaxing.  Because we all know they go hand in hand…stamping and relaxing, that is!

I had a wonderful weekend from start to finish.  Friday night, a friend and I went to see a local theatre production of A Christmas Carol.  The acting was fabulous, the theatre was so rustic and pretty and the company was great!  Saturday was my gift card and tag stamping class.  We had a fun time creating some very cute projects which I will share in the coming days.  And Sunday was another day spent stamping and chatting away with a friend.  Oh and in between, the house got decorated and the Christmas tree put up.  Now that’s a well spent weekend!

Today’s card features a holiday stamp set that came out in last year’s Holiday Catalog and made it into the Annual Catalog, Hang Your Stocking.  The stamp set and coordinating framelits make such cute little stockings and are loaded with adorable accessories.

Here’s the details

  • The A2 card base is my go-to Whisper White thick card stock.
  • The next layer is Crumb Cake card stock which I cut using a non-SU stitched rectangle die.  I am hoping for some stitched rectangles from Stampin’ Up!
  • To create the dotted pattern on the Crumb Cake layer, I simply added the dots with a white gel pen.

  • I wrapped a few rows of thin gingham real red ribbon (retired) around the Crumb Cake panel before adhering it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card base.  You could just as easily use a piece of Designer Series Paper for this also.
  • The stocking is cut out using a thinlit and a pattern from the Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper collection.  I did a little faux stitching on the toe and heel with the gel pen. It’s also popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Using the Pretty Pines Thinlits, I cut a variety of pine boughs and leaves to create a little bouquet and tucked them in behind the stocking using mini glue dots.
  • A little gingham bow is a sweet way to finish the stocking.
  • The sentiment, from Teeny Tiny Wishes, is stamped in Real Red ink, punched with the Classic Label punch.

  • The sentiment is also from Hang Your Stocking stamp set and is stamped in Real Red ink.
  • A pattern from Quilted Christmas DSP was perfect to finish the inside and the envelope.
