A Cheery Cherry Snowflake Sentiment

Stampin Up Snowflake Sentiments Christmas Card - Rosanne Mulhern

I’m just getting started with creating Christmas cards and the Snowflake Sentiment Bundle is already one my favorites!  The Snowflake Sentiments stamp set has a wonderful set of sentiments for both the outside and inside of cards.  Couple that with the coordinating Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits and this is a bundle that will really push your creative buttons.

I love the intricacy of the snowflakes as well as the border dies in this set.

Here’s the details

  • The A2 card base is Whisper White thick card stock.
  • A pattern from the Be Merry Designer Series Paper collection is the background.
  • Using a variety of the thinlits from Swirly Snowflake Thinlit dies, I created the pretty scalloped border and the straight border along the bottom. The Precision Base Plate really helped cut these out with ease.

  • The Cherry Cobbler snowflakes are also cut from the thinlits.  I layered the large and the small and added a pearl accent to each.
  • The sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler and cut using the Brother Scan n’ Cut for both the stamped image and the background. And it’s popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  • The inside is stamped with another sentiment and snowflake image from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink.
  • A little strip of DSP on the inside and the envelope front pull it all together.

I’ve already created another card using the Swirly Snowflake Thinlit dies and I know there will be more to come with both the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set and dies.  I hope you’ll check back to see them.

Take care,

Framed Christmas Greetings

I’m a little bit of a stickler about not rushing and truly trying to enjoy each season.  But now…I’ll officially start creating for Christmas.  I don’t really feel a lot of pressure or urgency when it comes to the Christmas Season but do thoroughly enjoy preparing for it.

Today I have two different cards I created for a Shoebox Swap a few weeks ago.

The card layouts are exactly the same:

  • Cherry Cobbler card stock A2 card base.
  • Whisper White card stock cut 1/4″ smaller and stamped in Crumb Cake ink with the Hardwood stamp.
  • Basic Black card stock cut at 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″
  • The pine branch spray is cut from the Pretty Pines Thinlits with a Year of Cheer embellishment.

Stampin Up Large Letters Christmas Card - Rosanne Mulhern

  • I cut the letters from the Large Letters framelits twice:  once with the buffalo check pattern found in the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper collection and again using some fun foam for added dimension.
  • The letters are glued directly to the Basic Black card stock.

  • On this version, I stamped the sentiment from Snowflake Sentiments stamp set with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder.  It actually looks like it was written in chalk on a chalkboard.  Perfect for a teacher!

  • The inside sentiment is from my non-SU collection and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  I really liked that it coordinated with the JOY on the front of one of the cards and I also love the font!
  • Each envelope flap is embellished with more DSP…always a nice little touch!

Well, I guess I’m off and running with my Christmas cards.  I know I’m going to really enjoy digging into some of the new stamp sets in the Holiday Catalog as well as some of my older favorites that carried over in the Annual Catalog.

The new Stampin’ Blends are available beginning today.  I have the collection and have been practicing with them.  They are so effortless to use and the results are amazing.  I really enjoy coloring.  It’s very relaxing for me and these markers make it just that much more!

HERE’S the brochure where you can check out the colors and coordinating card kits along with some basic coloring tips.  If you have any questions about these, I’ll be happy to help.

Since it’s also a new month, I’ve added a new Hostess code to the sidebar. You can read all the details regarding the hostess codes and my monthly incentives HERE.  Since the release of the Stampin’ Blends this month, I will be sending everyone who orders $75 or more, a FREE Memento Ink Pad.  This is the recommended ink to use with alcohol markers to avoid bleeds.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope your November is off to a wonderful start!

Take care,

Rosanne

Woodgrain Acorns

I really need to start creating with all the fantastic Christmas products I have but wanted to squeeze a last Fall card in today. It’s finally feeling like Autumn here in SE Pennsylvania. The leaves are changing, albeit a little late, and the acorns are falling.

Stampin Up Count Your Blessings Friendship Cards - Rosanne Mulhern

I combined a few different stamp sets to create this card.  I’m always happy when I can do this as it justifies my many purchases…how’s that for rationalization!

Here’s the details

  • Using the Hardwood stamp set, I stamped the center panel in Soft Suede ink.
  • The cluster of acorns, from Count My Blessings stamp set, were stamped three times and colored using Stampin’ Write Markers.
  • I hand cut two of the images and layered them on the Hardwood panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • With the third image, I just cut two of the acorns and layered them to create a pretty 3D effect.
  • A Linen Thread bow “ties” it all together.
  • Crushed Curry Mini Chevron Ribbon and Burlap Ribbon are layered and wrapped around the panel before being adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The sentiment is from the Eastern Beauty Stamp set and is stamped in Soft Suede ink. It’s cut and mounted using the Layering Circles and Stitched Shapes framelits.

Stampin Up Count Your Blessings Friendship Card Idea- Rosanne Mulhern

  • The inside sentiment is also from the Count My Blessings stamp set.
  • A pattern from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper collection adds a little interest to the inside of the card.

  • I finished the inside of the envelope with another piece of DSP cut with the retired Envelope Liner framelits.

Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you a Happy Halloween.  This little guy has had enough Trick or Treating already!

Take care,

“Jack” O’Lantern Gift Tag

Happy Monday!  My project today is a gift tag I made for a Halloween gift for my favorite Trick or Treater…my grandson, Jack.

Stampin Up Halloween Tag - Rosanne Mulhern

I pulled out some retired products for this project.

Here’s the details

  •  The stamp set dates back to 2000 and is called Costume Bears.  It was perfect for this tag.
  • I colored the image with the new Stampin’ Blends.
  • The image is layered on a combination of circles from Layering Circles Framelits and Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Stampin Up Halloween Tags - Rosanne Mulhern

  • I wanted to personalize the tag, so I printed it out on the computer and punched it using the Classic Label Punch.
  • Lastly, I glued all the layers on a (retired) Spider Web Doilie.

I thought it looked so cute on the gift bag…but not nearly as cute as the little boy who was getting this gift!  This little “Jack” O’Lantern turned 4 months old yesterday and is all ready to celebrate his first Halloween!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful week ahead.

Take care,

Rosanne
