Fun Fold Halloween for Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pals October 2017 Blog Hop featuring some very “Wicked Folds”. Thank you so much for joining us today. Sit back and enjoy the view while the Stampin’ Pretty Pals treat you with their wickedly folded projects. Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

Stampin Up Spooky Night Halloween Card - Rosanne Mulhern

I usually don’t stray to far from the usual A2 cards but was happy to do something a little different.  My gatefold card is not that unusual but does create a somewhat different card.

Here’s the details

  • The Very Vanilla thick card stock card base is cut at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 2 1/8″ on each side of the 8 1/2″ side.  This leaves two panels on each side to create the “gate”.
  • I cut two panels measuring 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″ of Basic Black card stock and layered that with a pattern from Spooky Night Designer Series Paper cut 1/8″ smaller on each gate panel.

  • To create the centerpiece, I used the Layering Ovals Framelits and cut an oval from Basic Black card stock and a scalloped oval from Pumpkin Pie card stock along with a Very Vanilla oval cut from the Stitched Shapes Framlits and layered all three.
  • The funny pumpkins were hand cut from another pattern in the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper collection and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  • The sentiment, from the Spooky Cat stamp set, is stamped in Basic Black Archival ink.
  • I cut the sentiment and a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock using the Bunch of Banners Framelits and squared the left side.
  • I colored a few pearls with a black sharpie and added to them to the banner.
  • When gluing the centerpiece on, make sure to only glue it to the top panel so the card will open.
  • A little more DSP and a strip of card stock add some interest to the envelope flap.

This is such a simple fold but really does give the card a more fun feel.

Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on November 8, 2017. Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. Don’t forget to leave us a comment.

Stampin Up Painted Autumn and Basket of Wishes Thanksgiving Card - Rosanne Mulhern

  • I stamped the sentiment which is from the Basket of Wishes stamp set in Early Espresso ink.
  • The pumpkins are hand cut from another pattern from Painted Autumn DSP.  I glued the back one directly to the card and popped the front one up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I love how versatile Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper is whether using it as backgrounds, accents or cutting out the images.  And for the month of October you can buy 3 and get 1 FREE. Check out the flyer HERE.

Baby’s First Birthday – #tttc018

I’m playing along with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #018 today.  Here’s the fun challenge board for this week:

I choose the first row down:  Animals, Layers, Sparkle

Stampin Up A Little Wild Birthday Card Idea- Rosanne Mulhern

I actually created this card for a baby girl’s first birthday before I checked this week’s challenge board and was delighted that this card fit the requirements….happy accident!

Here’s the details

  • The A2 card base is Whisper White thick card stock with a mat of Powder Pink card stock cut 1/8″ smaller.
  • Another panel with a pattern from the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper cut another 1/8″ smaller.
  • Using the Layering Circles Framelits, I cut a scalloped circle from Powder Pink card stock and a regular circle from Whisper White card stock.
  • I stamped the sentiment, from the Large Numbers stamp set in Basic Black ink directly on the Whisper White circle.  NOTE:  Because this is a photopolymer set, I was able to bend the sentiment to fit inside the circle.
  • With the Large Number Framelits, the number 1 was cut in Powder Pink card stock and popped on the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Next the sweet little elephant was stamped from the A Little Wild stamp set and colored with Smoky Slate and Blushing Bride ink and blenders pen.  Then cut with the Little Loves Framelits. These are available as a bundle for a 10% savings.
  • The elephant was also popped with Dimensionals.
  • For a little sparkle, a few sequins were added.

  • I pulled out the Cool Treats stamp set for the inside sentiment and added a little more Designer Series Paper.
  • The envelope is also embellished with DSP.

This was a fun card to create and you could easily make it into a card for a baby boy, as well!

I hope you’ll hop over to check out the Tic Tac Toe Challenge and perhaps enter on of your projects.  The boards offer so much inspiration making it fun and easy to come up with ideas.

Neutral Birthday with a bit of Bling!

Stampin Up Timeless Textures and Happy Birthday Die Birthday Card - Rosanne Mulhern

I took a little break from the seasonal cards I’ve been creating to make this classic looking birthday card featuring the Happy Birthday Thinlit.  This is one die that will never go out of style and can be used to make so many different kinds of birthday cards.  I will be using this long after it retires and possibly long after I retire, too!

Here’s the details

  • The A2 card base (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) is Crumb Cake card stock with a mat of Whisper White card stock cut 1/4″ smaller.
  • The next panel is Gold Foil cut at 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″.  This is popped onto the Whisper White panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Another Crumb Cake panel is cut at 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ and is stamped with an image from Timeless Textures stamp set in Crumb Cake ink to create a subtle background.

  • The Happy Birthday sentiment was cut twice…once in Gold Foil and once using a piece of fun foam.  When gluing together, I offset them just a bit for a pretty 3D shadow effect.
  • A few gold sequins give just enough added embellishment.  Although I think the card would like just as nice without them.

Stampin Up Timeless Textures and Happy Birthday Die Birthday Card Idea - Rosanne Mulhern

  • The inside sentiment is from the Special  Celebrations stamp set.  If you want a set that has a variety of sentiments for many occasions, this is the one!
  • Using the same stamped image I used on the front of the card, I simply embellished the inside and the envelope to tie the whole project together.

Like I said above, this Happy Birthday Thinlit really packs a BIG bang on any card you would create!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.
