Polka Dot Birthday Delivery

Stampin Up Birthday Delivery Birthday Card - Rosanne Mulhern

Happy Monday…I have a bright and cheerful card to start the week off!  I loved the Birthday Delivery suite of products the moment I saw them in the Annual Catalog back in May.  I love all the whimsical characters and think that this suite is perfect for young, old, male or female.  Today’s card is a children’s birthday card.

Here’s the details

  • The A2 (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) card base is Real Red card stock with a mat of Whisper White card stock cut 1/4″ smaller (5 1/4″ x 4″).
  • The Whisper White layer was embossed with the Polka Dot Basics Embossing Folder.
  • I punched a variety of 1/2″ circles from Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point card stock and glued them to the embossed circles.  You could skip the embossing and just adhere the dots randomly but the embossing gave me a uniform guide.
  • The sentiment is from the Celebrate You stamp set found in the Annual Catalog and is stamped in Real Red ink and cut with the Lots of Labels framelits. The fonts in this set are also whimsical, which I thought was perfect for this card.

  • I cut a few more labels and layered the sentiment.
  • The cute little squirrel is an image from a pattern found in the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper and was hand cut and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Some of the images on the paper can be cut using the Birthday Friends framelits.

  • The inside sentiment is from the Birthday Delivery photopolymer stamp set and is stamped in Real Red ink.
  • A few strips of card stock and another snipped image creates a fun card inside and out!

  • I embossed a piece of Real Red card stock with the Polka Dot Basics embossing folder and added it to the envelope flap for a hint of the fun inside!

When purchased as a bundle, this also includes the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper along with the Birthday Delivery Stamp Set and Birthday Friends Framelits.  That’s a lot of fun packed into one bundle!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you week is off to a good start!

Take care,

Happy Fall!

Well, summer is over and fall has officially begun.  I’m not sure how I feel about this but I guess since there’s really nothing I can do about it…I’ll just roll with it and enjoy!  In honor of the first day of fall (and because I’m having such a good time with this set), my card today is a pretty reminder of the beauty of the season.

Only one stamp set was used for all the images and sentiments on this card.  Count My Blessing stamp set really has it all when it comes to beautiful florals and perfect sentiments in an amazing font. This is another set that can take you well beyond the fall season and be used for many different occasions.

Here’s the details

  • The card base is Very Vanilla thick card stock with a woodgrain mat from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack.
  • The sentiment is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock cut at 1 3/4″ x 5 3/8″.
  • This is matted with a piece of Crushed Curry and Chocolate Chip card stock.

  •  To achieve a multi-dimensional look, I first stamped the image on Very Vanilla card stock and colored it with a variety of Stampin’ Write Markers and cut it out using a circle die from the Layering Circles framelits.
  • I stamped and colored it a few more times on Very Vanilla card stock. But this time I cut out a couple of acorns and a leaf and adhered them over the image that was stamped on the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A simple Linen Thread bow adds a little more rustic charm.
  • Lastly, the Very Vanilla circle is glued to a Chocolate Chip stitched circle using the Stitched Shapes framelits and then popped on the sentiment panel with dimensionals.

  • Can you tell that I really enjoyed coloring these images!  I think they really give the inside of the card so much more detail and pair so well with that wonderful sentiment.

Hello there, honey bear!

Today’s post has a bit of a different twist to it.  I received an envelope in the mail from my upline, Susan Itell, with a few pieces of card stock and Designer Series Paper along with a note asking to create something with them.  I love challenges, as I really think they inspire as well as stretch your creativity…so I took this as a fun challenge!

Here are the elements I received….a piece of Basic Black card stock, a pattern from Pick a Pattern DSP and a Whisper White square cut from the Stitched Shapes framelits.

  • The sentiment is stamped directly on the stitched square, which is popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals onto the card.
  • The honeycomb and bear are popped with Dimensionals, while the cute little bees are glued using Tombow.

  • A little more stamping and coloring on the inside adds a touch of whimsy but still leaves room for a personal note.

Susan opened this challenge up to her entire downline.  It will be fun to see what the others on the team have created.

Thanks for stopping in today and I hope you have a great day!

Take care,

Rosanne
