A Whole Lot of Lovely Birthday

Stampin Up Happy Birthday Thinlit birthday card - Rosanne Mulhern

There’s a whole lot to love about this beautiful Designer Series Paper, Whole Lot of Lovely!  I actually thought Delightful Daisy was the prettiest paper in the catalog until I saw this ONE!

Here’s the details:

  • The showstopper on this card is the floral pattern from Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper.  This collection has so many pretty patterns.  I’m already thinking about ordering another pack as I can see so many beautiful projects.

  • Pairing the paper with the Happy Birthday thinlit made this card come together so quickly.  I just love the flirty font!

  • I cut the thinlit three times in Tangerine Tango card stock and layered them for a dimensional look.

  • The ribbon and bow are Old Olive 3/8″ Mini Chevron from the new Annual Catalog.  I really like using ribbon on cards and this catalog has so many wonderful new ribbons.
  • A few little pearls add a delicate touch.

  • That same pretty paper on the envelope flap hints at something special inside.

I hope today’s card showed how a fabulous piece of Designer Series Paper can be the “star” of the show!

Thanks for stopping by and take care,

Rosanne

Tic Tac Toe Challenge Debut

Today’s a pretty exciting day.  The Tic Tac Toe Challenge debuts today and I am so honored to be on the Design Team with an amazing group of designers.  I hope you will check out the challenge blog to see the other talented designers and their wonderful projects.  This is going to be a fun and inspiring challenge!

Tic Tac Toe Challenge - Rosanne Mulhern stampin up

Let’s get started…just pick a vertical, horizontal or diagonal row and incorporate each element in the chosen row to create a project with.  Use any kind of products you’d like.  This is not limited to any particular stamp company…the choice is yours. The design possibilities are endless and will surely spark your creativity.  Here’s Week #1 challenge board:

I chose the right vertical column: gold, black & baker’s twine. Although I could also have chosen the middle horizontal row and the right diagonal row.  See what I mean about the possibilities…endless!

Stampin Up Crafting Forever Note Card - Rosanne Mulhern

I kept this card very clean and simple but tried to add a little sophistication.

  • The card base is Very Vanilla thick card stock which is a new product in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog.  It really makes a difference in the quality of the card.
  • The next Very Vanilla layer is cut 1/4″ smaller.
  • I cut the oval window and the black frame using the Layering Ovals framelits.

  • How about those pens!  I love writing instruments and these pens instantly grabbed me.
  • They’re stamped in Versa-Mark ink and heat embossed on vellum with gold embossing powder.  They remind me of the gold Cross Pens I always had to have. I know I just really dated myself here!!
  • These are from the Crafting Forever stamp set.  All the images in this set are terrific!

  • The vellum layer is attached to the card base with some SNAIL adhesive on the edges so you can’t see if from the front of the card.  Adhering vellum can be tricky sometimes.  Just make sure you cut the vellum layer large enough.  I cut mine in a square so it was easy to hide the adhesive.

  • The sentiment is from Flourishing Phrases stamp set and is stamped in Black Archival ink.
  • Gold Baker’s Twine (retired) is wrapped twice around and tied with a bow for a more polished look.
  • I adhered this panel onto the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals which gives it a pretty dimensional look with very little effort.

  • To finish this card off, I stamped the same image onto the envelope flap and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder also.  Remember, I was going for a little sophistication here…LOL!

This card reminded me of traditional stationery back in the day.  I hope you enjoyed this project and will check out the other designs on the Tic Tac Toe Challenge today.  And I really hope you will play along with us…it’s going to be FUN!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Take care,

Rosanne

At Home With You Gift Card Holder

Stampin Up At Home With You Congratulations Card - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

Today’s card features the new At Home With You stamp set and coordinating At Home framelits.  Both are also available as a bundle in the Annual Catalog at a 10% cost savings.  This is quite a value given that the photopolymer stamp set contains 25 images and the framelits consist of 12 matching dies…that’s a lot of creative fun packed into one bundle!

This set can carry you through the seasons as well as everyday.  My card is a new home congratulations gift card holder for my daughter and her husband, who just bought their first house.

Here’s the details:

  • The Chocolate Chip card base is 4 1/4″ x 11″. I scored it at 5 1/2″ & 9″.
  • The 2″ side is folded over to form a pocket for a gift card.  This is a great layout for any occasion you would give a gift card.

  • After adding Crushed Curry card stock and a pattern from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper to the pocket, I took the 1″ circle punch and punched a notch, then glued the sides of the pocket down.

  • I love that front door.  It’s can actually be interactive, as you can use one of the dies to create a “hinged” door that opens.
  • My door is just stamped on a woodgrain pattern from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper and cut using a framelit then popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The wreath, as well as, the basket of flowers are colored with a variety of Stampin’ Write Markers.  I think those delicate little flowers are adorable!
  • I used a copper colored Sharpie for the lantern.  It really gives it a pretty shine.

  • Another pattern from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper on the envelope flap adds a bit more charm to this gift.
  • This card would also be perfect as a hostess thank you.  Like I said, this is one of those very versatile sets that can be used in so many ways.  The minute I saw that adorable little wreath, I was hooked!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful week ahead.
