Something for a Sweet Baby Girl

Stampin Up A Sweet Baby Girl Baby Card - Rosanne Mulhern

My daughter needed a card for a good friend who just had a baby girl and I was very happy to oblige!  I love creating baby cards and cards for young children, although the opportunity doesn’t come up that often.

Today’s card uses mostly retiring products.  You can see all the retiring products here.

  • The card base is Very Vanilla card stock cut at 4 1/2″ x 4 1/2″.  The Pink Pirouette mat is cut at 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ and the next layer of Very Vanilla is cut 1/8″ smaller.
  • I cut a Pink Pirouette scalloped square and a Very Vanilla straight square from the Layering Squares framelits.
  • Embossing with the Elegant Dots embossing folder added some delicate texture.
  • The squares were popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  • The baby carriage is stamped in Pink Pirouette ink with an image from Something for Baby stamp set and cut with the coordinating, Baby’s First framelits.  These along with the sentiment, from the Made with Love stamp set will be retiring on May 31.
  • Very Vanilla 1/4″ Satin Ribbon from the Occasions Catalog is a pretty detail along with the pearls on the wheels.
  • The sentiment is cut using Bunch of Banners framelits.

  • Since this isn’t a standard size card, I needed to create my own envelope using the Envelope Punch Board.
  • I coordinated the envelope with the card by embossing the envelope flap.
  • Below are some of the products used on this card.

This card is one that I will probably do again but change the color scheme as I think it’s so pretty and delicate…just like a new baby!

Thank you for taking the time to look in today.

Take care,

Designer Inspired Birthday Blast

Stampin Up Birthday Blast Birthday Card - Rosanne Mulhern

The inspiration for today’s Birthday card came from a trip to the mall last week.  I rarely go to the mall anymore but really needed some retail therapy…ever have one of those weeks?!  I am always drawn to the Tommy Hilfiger collection and his signature colors.  I saw this pretty purse and was thus inspired….

  • The card base is Watermelon Wonder (a retiring in-color) with a mat of Night of Navy and Whisper White each cut 1/8″ smaller.
  • Retiring Elegant Dots embossing folder provided pretty texture. The new Annual Catalog has some awesome new embossing folders, however, this one has been a real favorite of mine.

  • The sentiment is from the Birthday Blast stamp set which is also retiring but still available until May 31.  It’s stamped in Night of Navy ink.
  • There’s those daisies again!  If you follow my blog, you’ve seen these cute little daisies before here and here cut from the Succulents framelits.  I simply love them!

  • The inside sentiment says it all…this is also from Birthday Blast stamp set.
  • Two more daises cut out leaving the negative image creates a pretty embellishment.
  • The envelope flap is decorated with some fun polka dots from the Regals Designer Series Paper.

A Sunflower to Smile About

Thinking of my card today, made me smile and I hope it brings a smile to you, too!

Stampin Up Eastern Palace Sunflower Love and Friendship Card - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

The big, bold sunflower was created with a die from the Eastern Medallions framelits that are part of the Early Release Eastern Palace Suite. Here is some information on this suite.

There are some amazing framelits in this suite that can be paired to create many unique die cuts.  The fun is trying all the different configurations.  However, the first thing that I saw in these framelits was a sunflower…pretty far from the middle eastern intended idea!

  • The card base is Chocolate Chip with a mat of Daffodil Delight and Whisper White.
  • The Crumb Cake frame was created by layering a scalloped square, a stitched shape square and another straight edge square.  They all fit into each other perfectly, so it was one pass through the Big Shot.
  • I stamped the sentiment, from Eastern Beauty stamp set in Chocolate Chip ink directly onto the Whisper White card stock.

  • I cut two of the largest die in the Eastern Medallions framelits.  One in Daffodil Delight card stock and another in Crushed Curry card stock and glued them together.
  • The center is Chocolate Chip card stock cut with a scalloped circle from Layering Circles framelits and embossed with Elegant Dots embossing folder.
  • My favorite part of this card is the sweet little bees.  I found these in Touches of Textures stamp set.  They were hand cut and popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Did you know…Stampin’ Up! will be offering small Stampin’ Dimensionals in the new Annual Catalog.  I will have a couple packs on my first order!

  • I think the inside sentiment is just so perfect for a Friendship or Just Because card.  This came from Garden in Bloom stamp set.
  • A few more bees add a little charm!
