Darling Daisies Birthday

Stampin Up Succulent Daisy Birthday Card - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

I just love daisies…who doesn’t.  They’re such a simple little flower that always make me smile.  These paper daisies are no exception.  They were created using the Succulent framelits from the Occasions Catalog.  This is such a versatile set and not just for making succulents…obviously!

The coordinating stamp set, Oh So Succulents is also a wonderful set. You can get a lot of mileage out of this bundle.

  • The card base is Whisper White thick card stock. I’ve just recently started to use this for all my white card bases.  It makes such a difference in the sturdiness of the card.
  • I scored a 3″ x 4 1/4″ panel of regular Whisper White card stock using the Simply Scored scoring tool.  Just these simple score lines give the card a more detailed look.
  • The Melon Mambo polka dot pattern from the Brights Designer Series Paper measures 2″ x 4 1/4″.
  • The sentiment is from the Sale-a-bration free set, Avant Garden.  If you didn’t get this set, any other sentiment could work just as well.
  • I cut the sentiment and frame from the Stylish Stems framelits…another terrific bundle in the Occasions Catalog.  Hoping both sets will carry over in the new Annual Catalog!

  • The daisies were cut using the two smallest flower dies from the Succulents framelits.  I popped them with Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a Melon Mambo Enamel Shape to each.

  • The inside sentiment is also from Avant Garden stamp set.  I had this card sitting on my desk for quite awhile with just needing some finishing touches.
  • I cut another daisy for the inside using the negative space and a White Perfect Accent.

The retirement list is coming out later today and I’m hoping some of my favorites are NOT on it.  This is always such a fun time of year because the new Annual Catalog is right around the corner and is ALWAYS filled with my NEW favorites!

I hope this card made you smile today.  Have a wonderful day!

Take care,

Rosanne

Wondrous Easter Wreath

Stampin Up Wondrous Wreath Easter Card - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

Still busy making Easter cards here. I used to enjoy making the occasional wreath for my front door although it usually ended up costing twice as much and not looking half as good as one I could buy!  My solution to this is to make them with stamps and paper.  This wreath was a lot of fun to create using Wondrous Wreath stamp set and Wonderful Wreath framelits.

Thinking outside the box….although this set was initially released as a Christmas product, it works perfectly well as a wreath for just about any holiday or season.  I’ve made Fall, Halloween and now this Spring wreath.  My downline and friend, Katie made me a pretty Valentine card with this set because she knew how much I like it.

I have a feeling though that they will be on the retirement list when it’s released on April 10th.  If it is and you don’t own the stamps and framelits, I would encourage you to purchase them while they’re still available.

  • The card base is Pear Pizzazz card stock.  The polka-dot pattern is from Tasty Treats Designer Series Paper.
  • I stamped the wreath with Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive ink twice.
  • With the second wreath, I cut out groups of leaves to attach to the flowers that were stamped and cut with framelits.  This really gives the wreath a pretty 3-D effect.
  •  A circle was cut with the Layering Circles framelits in Flirty Flamingo card stock, positioned and glued to the card. A Lace Doilie was attached on top.
  • The wreath is layered on the doilie with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  • Since I had another “chocolate” bunny on my desk from this card, I popped him in with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The banner image is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and punched using the Duet Banner punch.

  • A little bit of Designer Series Paper and a sentiment from Suite Sentiments stamp set completes the inside.

On a personal note, this week has been so worrisome for me.  My sweet little dachshund, Tess, had to undergo surgery.  We weren’t sure if her problems were dental or something more serious and the only way to find out was to anesthesize her.  Well, she’s 18 year old, so that could have been a problem.  But I’m happy to say that she did well and just came home with 11 less teeth.  That sounds like a lot but she still has 23 left!  She’s been sleeping off the anesthesia and still a little wobbly but improving!

She’s a tough little (old) girl!

A Basket Bunch of Eggs

I’m still a good time creating Easter cards with the Basket Bunch Bundle.  Today’s card uses the Basket Builder framelits to create the cute basket full of colored eggs.

This is such a versatile set that will go well beyond Easter.  A lot of the same products that I used on Monday’s card were used today but with totally different results.

  • The card base is Whisper White with another mat of Whisper White cut 1/8″ smaller.
  • The Whisper White mat is scored using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool for a simple touch of texture.
  • Layering Ovals framelits cut the center and another scalloped oval created the Soft Suede frame.
  • I added another Whisper White oval embossed with the Elegant Dot embossing folder to the center, gluing it directly unto the card base.
  • The mat was then adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  • Using the Basket Builder framelits, I cropped the basket with Soft Suede and Crumb Cake card stock.
  • The cute little eggs were also cut with a framelit from this set using the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack.
  • The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and is stampers in Soft Suede and cut with a die from Bunch of Banners framelits.
  • A little bow tied with Blushing Bride Bakers Twine gives the basket a simple added touch.

“Chocolate” Bunny Easter Card

Stampin Up Basket Bunch Easter Card - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

April is finally here and we can say good riddance to March!  That means Easter is right around the corner.  I’m working hard on my Easter cards and loving Stampin’ Up! Basket Bunch stamp set and Basket Builder framelits.  I wish I would have started playing with them sooner. But they’re not just for Easter…this is one set that can go the distance for a number of occasions. So I’ll be having fun with them for awhile. But I’ll concentrate on Easter for now!

  • The  card base is 4 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ Very Vanilla card stock.
  • A mat of 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ Pink Pirouette card stock and 4 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ Chocolate Chip card stock is adhered to the Very Vanilla base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  • The floral image from Touches of Texture is one of my favorites.  It’s stamped in Soft Suede ink and colored with Stampin’ Write Markers.
  • Clear Wink of Stella is a pretty touch to the flowers.  I also added a few tiny pearls to the flower centers that were colored with a brown Sharpie.
  • The grass is cut from a die in the Basket Builder framelits in Pear Pizzazz card stock. TIP: Using the Precision Base Plate for the Big Shot makes a huge difference on more intricate dies like this.

  • Let’s talk about this adorable bunny.  I made him chocolate using Chocolate Chip card stock and if you look closely I added Clear Wink of Stella to him too.  It made all the difference making him a little sparkly!
  • He’s popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A Blushing Bride bakers twine bow adds to his sweetness.
  • I created the banner using the retired 1″ square punch to flag the ends.
  • The sentiment from Circle of Spring stamp set is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink.  I think the font is just perfect for this card.

  • The envelope was simple to create using the Envelope Punch Board.
  • A sweet floral pattern from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack embellishes the envelope flap.
