Gilded Birthday Bloom

The challenge this week at the Pals Paper Arts is a fantastic color combination….

PPA299

I love a pink and green color combination anyway, but add gold to the mix and it really takes it to a new level.

The photo really does not do the actual card justice.  This card is just the right combination of soft and sparkly.  I used my absolute favorite stamp at the moment, the Birthday Booms.  This flower is so beautiful on its own but when you add embossing to it, it really becomes stunning. And I was aiming to stun with this card in a soft and subtle way.

The card base is Very Vanilla with a mat of Gold Foil.  The images are stamped on Very Vanilla using Versa Mark and gold embossing powder.  The flower was was colored with Pink Pirouette and Pear Pizzazz ink and a blender pen.  The sentiment is from the Cottage Greetings stamp set and is also embossed in gold.

I thought about adding some gold sequins but decided the embossing was enough.

The inside sentiment is also from the Cottage Greetings stamp set and is stamped in Pear Pizzazz.  I finished off the envelope with a gold foil lining using the Envelope Liners die which is retiring this year.  This really surprised me.  I love using these framelits and will continue as they are such a quick and easy way to customize the envelope and to complete a pretty and coordinated card.

I hope you enjoyed this project and that you are not tired of this stamp yet….I have a few more cards to come using it!  I will try to spread them out.  Thanks so much for spending some time here today.  I would more than welcome your comments and be happy to answer any questions.

Until next time,

Rosanne

Ducks in a Row

Happy Saturday…hope you have some fun plans for the weekend.  We have a First Communion to go to today, so I will get to see some family that we don’t often see, which will be great!

My great niece is expecting a baby any day now and the Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge this week is for a baby card…PERFECT!

SIP-Theme-45-800-4

Once I decided on a stamp set this card really came together in a flash.

Watermarked Photo 1 (2016-04-30-0910)

The sweet little ducks are from the Something For Baby stamp set.  I am so pleased that this set is carrying over into the new Annual Catalog.  It has become my go-to set for baby cards.  I stamped the ducks in Daffodil Delight ink and cut them out with the Baby’s Firsts Framelits which coordinate with the stamp set.  When I was die-cutting the stamped ducks, I also die cut three out of Fun Foam to layer them.  This really gives them such a nice lift on the card.

The DSP is Mint Macaron from the In-Color DSP pack.  I trimmed the edge with Mint Macaron Dotted Lace Trim and used some candy dots in between.  The sentiment, from the Suite Sayings stamp set in the Occasions Catalog but also being carried over in the new catalog, is stamped in Mint Macaron and punched with the Scalloped Oval Punch (which is going away).

The inside sentiment is from the Tin of Cards stamp set.  I know I say this all the time, but this is my most used set for sentiments and it IS being carried over and Stampin’ Up! is introducing another Tin of Cards set, which is just as fabulous!

I would  happy to answer any questions or comments…they truly make my day.  Thanks so much for peeking in on my card today and have a wonderful Saturday!

Until next time,

Rosanne

Let’s Sit and Have Tea

It’s Friday…even though is rainy, cold and dreary here today…it’s still Friday!!

My card share today is the result of entering two challenges.  The Global Design Project #33 has a color challenge and the Pals Paper Arts #298, a sketch challenge this week.  I really enjoy combining challenges when I can.  I actually consider it to be more of a challenge.

Global Design Project 033   PPA-298-Apr28

Since the new catalog will soon be out and some really great sets will  be going away, I am trying to use them more.  The Cups & Kettle framelits are one of those sets, along with A Nice Cuppa.

Watermarked Photo 1 (2016-04-29-1203)

Although I only used the framelits on this card, I absolutely LOVE this bundle and will keep it here for a long time.  I am a bona fide tea drinker…have been since I was very young.  So anything having to do with tea, teacups, teapots, teabags…is my cup of tea!  I used to collect teapots until my collection outgrew my kitchen and dining room.  Whenever people know you collect a particular item, that’s what you get for every occasion.  I had to put an end to it!  So now I collect tea themed stamps.  They are so much easier to store.

Watermarked Photo 2 (2016-04-29-1203)

The card base is Sahara Sand with a mat of Calypso Coral and an embossed layer, using the Elegant Dots embossing folder of Night of Navy.  I cut the tea cup using a pattern from the Pretty Petals DSP stack and another from Calypso Coral cardstock, layering the two so that a little of the cardstock would peek out from the cut design in the patterened cup.  After I cut the little heart from the framelit, I added a bit of Wink of Stella to give it a little sparkle.

The tag is cut from the Tags &b Labels framelits and stamped with a sentiment from the Balloon Celebration stamp set.  I added a cute little flower, punched twice and layered, from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, then added a pearl.

Watermarked Photo 3 (2016-04-29-1204)      Watermarked Photo 4 (2016-04-29-1204)

I left the inside blank to write a personal note and to invite someone for tea.  Today would have been the perfect day to chat and have a nice hot cup of tea with a friend.

I hope you enjoyed this card and that you will have sometime to have a cuppa…and stamp too!  Thanks for stopping by.  If you have any stamping needs and do not already have a demonstrator, I would love to help you out.  My online store is just a click away and I am just an email away.

Take care and until next time,

Rosanne

Peach of Birthday Bloom

It’s a cold and dreary day here today but making this card really brightened it for me.  I am playing along with the Can You Case It #117 color challenge…..

CYCI117-300x225

I love the combination of cream and black and peach is such a nice addition to this combo.

Watermarked Photo 1 (2016-04-27-1438)

I just can’t seem to get enough of this beautiful flower from the Birthday Blooms stamp set that is available in the Occasions catalog.  But the good news is that it is carrying over to the Annual catalog so I will have plenty more opportunities to have fun with it.  The card base is Very Vanilla with a mat of Basic Black and a pattern from the Timeless Elegance DSP pack.  The band is Very Vanilla embossed with the Elegant Dots embossing folder.  I hadn’t noticed this before but the embossing matches the pattern on the DSP perfectly.  The trim is Calypso Coral.

Watermarked Photo 2 (2016-04-27-1438)

The flower is stamped on Very Vanilla in Versa Mark and heat embossed in black embossing powder.  Then colored using Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi inks and a blender pen.  I added Wink of Stella to the bloom only and it is quite striking in person.  I wish the camera would translate that better.  The sentiment is from the good ole’ Tin of Cards stamp set, which happily is also carrying over.  It is also stamped in Versa Mark and embossed in black.  I punched it out using the Decorative Label punch. I also colored a few pearls with a black sharpie.

Watermarked Photo 3 (2016-04-27-1439)   Watermarked Photo 4 (2016-04-27-1439)

The inside sentiment is from the Wild About Flowers stamp set, also carrying over!  I used some older Subtles DSP for the envelope flap.  I think this is a great way to use what you have leftover and still get a great coordinating effect.

I hope this card brightened your day just a little and that you would leave a comment!  I love reading them and answering them, too!  Thanks for spending a bit of time with me today.

Until next time,

Rosanne
