Monday Blues: Peaceful Garden Sympathy

Good Monday Morning! I’m starting off the week with the blues…not a blue mood just a couple of blue cards. My favorite color is blue, so I thought it would be fun to create a blue card each Monday. And hopefully, put a new spin on the Monday Morning Blues.

A week ago last Saturday, I got together with my good friend and upline, Jeanie Stark to participate in the SU’s Creativity Now event. The event featured the new Peace on Earth suite of products that you’ll be able to purchase tomorrow. One of the cards presented was a pretty sympathy card here….sorry for the grainy photo but this came off of the SU website.

I decided to add a few more layers to my card, because I do love layers! And then created a second card using a few different products from the same Peace on Earth bundle.

This is a very beautiful suite and can be used in many different ways and for many different occasions. I especially love the dove dies.

Here’s the details….

Each card begins with a Basic White card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, colored cardstock panel: 5 3/8 x 4 1/8, (3) colored cardstock strips: 3 5/8 x 7/8 and (3) DSP strips: 3 1/2 x 3/4. The colors I used for both cards are Cloud Cover and Misty Moonlight.

For the card below…cut Misty Moonlight cardstock at 3 5/8 x 1 7/8 and a Basic White piece at 3 1/2 x 1 3/4 and glue together. Stamp a sentiment on this panel, leaving room for the foliage die cut.

Space each panel evenly over the card front, gluing the thin strips and popping the sentiment panel with dimensionals.

Add the die cut foliage and linen bow to the sentiment panel.

For the card below...cut and layer two labels from the Peace on Earth dies. Stamp a sentiment.

Die-cut a dove, also from the Peace on Earth dies and glue to the sentiment panel.

I really like this card layout as it would lend itself to many different occasion cards depending on the patterned paper and sentiments you used.

Be sure to check out this new suite of products in my online store when they become available tomorrow.

Thanks for starting the week here with me and I hope these cards help beat the Monday Blues!

Take care,

Rosanne

Clean & Simple Saturday: Storybook Moments Thinking of You

I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July and that the festivities will continue through the weekend! We’re celebrating today with a pool party and BBQ. The weather here is absolutely beautiful and perfect for a holiday weekend.

My Saturday card shares will be Clean and Simple cards. There’s a lot of ways to interrupt CAS. I’ve seen it explained as simply one color or one layer with minimal embellishment. My interpretation would be leaning into both a clean look and simple to create.

The clean part of this card is the color palette and the simple part is that it only took a few die cuts to highlight the fresh and pretty Designer Series Paper pattern. This pattern is my favorite from the Storybook Memories DSP and I was just itching to use it before the summer was over. I love the dainty strawberries against the Boho Blue background and think it pops nicely on an all white card.

The measurement are even simple…

Basic White card stock: cut at 11 x 4 1/4, scored at 5 1/2

Basic White card stock: cut at 5 1/4 x 4, corners rounded with a punch

DSP: cut at 3 3/8 x 1 7/8 to fit inside a die from the Textured Notes Dies. A cut out from the Storybook Moments DSP embellishes the top.

The sentiment, from the retired Honey Bee stamp set is also cut with a Textured Notes die.

The inside sentiment is from the new online exclusive, Perfectly Pears, stamp set.

That’s it…so easy! While I do love to add details to cards and sometimes have trouble keeping my cards on the simple side, I must admit that this was a very refreshing card to create. Hope you think so, too!

Again, I hope you are enjoying this long holiday weekend doing whatever makes you happy!

Take care,

Rosanne

MEDITERRANEAN BLOOMS GET WELL CARD – #TTTC274

Welcome to Tic Tac Toe Thursday! It feels so good to be back designing for the challenge. I feel such a connection to this challenge as I was one of the original designers way back when Felicita initiated the challenge in 2017. I took a break now and then but still participated as a challenger. So yes, the TTTC and I have history! HERE’S the very first challenge back in 2017.

And here’s my card…

So let’s take a look at today’s challenge board…

There’s a lot of fun elements here to spark your creativity. I chose to go two ways – 1st column down: Foliage, Layers, Flowers & middle row across: Layers, Free, Summer Colors.

Here’s the details…

The Basic White card base is a standard A2 card, cut at 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4.

The Daffodil Delight panel is cut at 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 to give a 1/8 margin around. This panel is embossed using the retired Tasteful Textile embossing folding for some added dimension.

The next layer is a pattern from the Floral Delight Designer Series Paper. I first glued a panel to a piece of Basic White card stock and then die cut it with a large die from the Mediterranean Blooms dies. This gave the panel some “heft” and a little dimension without using dimensionals.

Before gluing this panel to the card front, I wrapped a bit of ribbon around. Full disclosure: I make the bow separately and adhere it with glue dots.

The orange images are die cut from the DSP. Again, using the same dies, I cut a few from thick card stock and layered to the image for dimension.

The heat embossed sentiment is from a stash of sentiments that I keep. When I come across a generic sentiment that I know I’ll use often, I take some time to stamp and cut a few just to have on hand and ready to go. I found this to be super helpful and time-saving when creating.

Lastly, I added a few sequins from my stash.

Here’s a peek inside…

The inside sentiment is from the long retired, _______ stamp set but expresses just what I wanted to say.

I hope you’ll head over to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge to see what my teammates created. I also hope that you’ll find some inspiration and join us!

Take care,

Rosanne

Take Two Tuesday: New Online Exclusive, Floral Charm

Each Tuesday, I’m going to be sharing two different cards featuring the same layout. For today, the cards also feature the same suite of products. These cards are created using the new online exclusive, Floral Charm Suite. It’s another beautiful floral suite. I tell myself that I have enough flowers but, needless to say, I couldn’t pass this one up!

Now to the cards…

The layout and measurements are the same for both cards. They start with an A2 card base (4 1/4 x 11), scored at 5 1/2. The colored cardstock panel measures 3 5/8 x 4 7/8 and the Basic White panel measures 3 1/2 x 4 3/4. Do not glue any of the panels yet.

Next cut a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 piece of Designer Series Paper and another coordinating piece of DSP at 3 x 3. Then put each square in the trimmer on a diamond shape and cut down the middle to create the front diagonal panels. Glue the larger piece to the bottom left side of the white panel and the smaller piece to the other side as shown. Trim each diagonal side with a 1/8 strip of cardstock. Now glue the white panel to the cardstock panel.

For this card, I used the label die cuts from the Peace on Earth dies. After stamping the sentiment, I trimmed the label and glued it to the card so it looks like it’s in a pocket. The color combination is Timid Tiger and Night of Navy. Now adhere this to the card base with dimensionals.

Here’s a look inside…

And here’s another card using the same bundle with the color combination of Cajun Craze and Lost Lagoon. For this card, I stamped, colored and cut the floral image and adhered it with dimensionals.

…and the inside. The sentiment here is from the retired, Charming Sentiments, set.

You can checked out all the new Online Exclusives on my online store. IMHO…this release is one of the best to come along in a while. There are so many unique and fun products. I’m looking forward to creating and sharing with many of them.

Take care,

Rosanne
