Wildflower Birthday Pop-Up Bandstand Card

Let’s call today Fun Fold Friday because I have another fun and new to me fold courtesy of Jeanie Stark’s Mystery Monday.

I had never seen a card like this and was surprised at how easy it came together. I followed Jeanie’s instructions HERE.

I created my card using the Wildflower Birthday Designer Series Paper which also includes so many images to punch out. I used the birthday cake and small flower on the front and the cupcake on the back. I’m really liking the paper collections that have these punch outs much like the Kits and Paper Pumpkin.

Here’s the back…once again, I dug into my stash for just the right sentiment and found it in the retired Delightful Dozen stamp set.

I really like how this card stands up and I’m looking forward to making more of these.

Thanks for stopping in today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Just a few things happening here. Spending Saturday shopping with my sister…we call it Sister Saturday, and visiting with my daughter and grandsons on Sunday. It’s my grandson, Jack’s 8th birthday on Sunday but we already celebrated both his and his brother, Luke’s 4th birthday earlier this month. So we’ll just go to lunch and have some dessert to mark the actual day.

There’s only a few day left to take advantage of the BOGO 50% of Suites and Suite products. You can shop the available products in my online store HERE.

Bright & Cheerful Floral Delight Card

While our temperatures here in SE Pennsylvania are screaming summer, I have a fresh & pretty All Occasion card that also gives some summertime vibes. Today’s card features the Floral Delight Designer Series Paper along with the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder which adds just a touch of dimension.

Here are the dimensions…

  • Basic White card base: 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2
  • Pool Party card stock: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
  • Floral Delight DSP: 4 x 5 1/4

Center Panel

  • Pool Party card stock: 3 x 4 1/4
  • DSP: 2 1/4 x 4 1/8
  • Pool Party Embossed Strip: 4 1/8 x 9/16

The sentiment on the front is from the long retired, Butterfly Gala stamp set and is one that I love to use for this type of card. I embellished using a few Loose Frosted Dots.

The inside sentiment is also from a retired set, Happy Thoughts. Again, this is another one that I use often. I mention the retired products I use only because I know you may also have these or if you’re interested in them, you may be able to find them on the secondary market. I also include them at the bottom of the post in the Product List in case you would like to see what they look like and what other stamps are included in the set as this may be helpful if you’re looking for them. The flower embellishment is cut from the DSP.

I think this is a really nice layout that would lend itself to so many different paper patterns and color combinations.

On a side note, I just wanted to share that as some of you already know that I posted HERE that we lost our wonderful dachshund puppy, Olive, far too soon back in March. Well, I’d like to share some good news. We now have a wonderful but very rambunctious new puppy, Hazel. Hazel is a Cavapoo and is just a bundle of energy. She’s 3 1/2 months old now and we’ve had her since she was eight weeks. Having just gotten Olive over all the puppy-ness and settled in, here we go again!

Thanks for stopping by today…stay cool!

Mystery Stampin’: Hidden Gate Fold

I’m playing a little catch up here on the blog. My card share today is last week’s Mystery Stampin’ challenge. This is called a Hidden Gate Fold. However, from the photo above it looks like an ordinary A2 card but from the title you know you’ll find something unique on the inside. Here, take a look…

…and then open it up again!…

…and thus the hidden gatefold! Isn’t this a unique fold? And it was very easy to create. You can follow Jeanie’s directions HERE to give it a try yourself. I followed all the directions except I added an extra layer on the front and the hand cut image on the “gate”. In case you’re wondering, I used two retired sets for the sentiments. The card front sentiment is from the So Sincere stamp set and the inside is a combination of two sentiments from the Lasting Joy stamp set.

What do you think of this beautiful paper?

It’s a new Online Exclusive, called Painterly Pears which is part of the new Painterly Pears Suite.

I love everything about this whole suite and I think it will be very popular. I’m already going to order another package of the Designer Series Paper.

This is just one of the new Online Exclusive Suites. I think you’ll be impressed with all the fun, beautiful and inspiring products in this release that will be available on July 1st. I know I was!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you had an enjoyable weekend. The highlight of my weekend was enjoying the Creativity Now Event with one of the most creative people I know…Jeanie Stark. We spent the day together at Jeanie’s house chatting, crafting, eating and chatting some more. It was a wonderful day!

Frames & Flowers Puzzle Slider Card

Here’s another Mystery Monday Fun Fold card. Jeanie Stark from JustStampin.com has been posting clues to a mystery fun fold card each Sunday and Monday and on Tuesday, she reveals her actual card. By following along with the clues, it’s fun to see what card actually comes together. Sometimes it’s a real surprise to me!

Today’s card was a fun fold I had never made and surprising (to myself) came together very quickly and easily. Take a look…

So looking at the photo above doesn’t give much of an indication of very unique card. But open it up and ta da…!

Isn’t that a fun way to open a card, especially if you’re not a cardmaker. Someone who receives this will love seeing the uniqueness of it. I’m keeping this in mind for my son-in-law, James’, birthday in September. James is a big fan of my cards and always makes a fuss over them. So naturally, I like to make a fuss over the cards I send him!

And here’s the entire inside…

I followed Jeanie’s clues HERE, except I added an extra layer to the four front puzzle pieces. My measurements for those are: Petal Pink: 2 1/8 x 2 1/4 (cut 2) & 2 1/8 x 3 1/4 (cut 2), Lost Lagoon: 2 x 2 1/8 (cut 2) & 2 x 3 1/8 (cut 2), DSP: 1 7/8 x 2 (cut 2) & 1 7/8 x 3 (cut 2).

The Designer Series Paper I used is the Frames and Flowers DSP which is still available. I waited so long to get this paper as every time I went to order, it was unavailable. I finally received it and it just sat and sat. What I really like about this paper is that it has a lot of ephemera pieces much like a card kit, which makes card making that much easier. I used pieces on the front, inside and envelope.

The sentiment circle is cut from the retired Layering Circles Dies and the sentiment is from a retired hostess set, Mischievous Mice which I think is an adorable set. I have no problem pulling sentiments from retired sets for my cards. Do you?

As always, thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Take care,

Rosanne
