Baby Buggy Balloons

Baby cards are one of my favorite kind of cards to make.  They are just so sweet!

I am entering this card into the Paper Players theme challenge.

Balloons are so on trend in papercrafting these days and who doesn’t love balloons.  They are always associated with something happy and fun.  I wanted to create a non-birthday card using balloons.  So a new baby came to mind because what is happier than that?!

The buggy is stamped in Blushing Bride using the Something for Baby stamp set which has coordinating die set, Baby’s First Framelits, that make cutting it out super easy.  The balloons are punched with the Balloon Punch using the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack in Blushing Bride.  The prints in this pack are perfect for a baby card.  The sentiment is from the Suite Sayings stamp set and punched out using the Scalloped Oval punch.  The whisper white background is embossed using the Decorative Dots embossing folder.

The inside sentiment is from the Cottage Greetings stamp set.  I love the font of this set.

Thanks so much for popping in today and I hope that this sweet little card made you smile.

Hello (honey) Hexagons

Hello…I hope your week is starting out on a happy note and I hope my card will make it a little happier.

Watermarked Photo 1 (2016-02-21-1026)

I was determined to use the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set as I have had it for so long and it has never touched an ink pad.  The sketch needed a focal point so I clustered the hexagons into a wheel shape.

Here is a close up of the hexagon layering.

After I stamped each hexagon in Hello Honey ink and punched them out with the Hexagon punch, I snipped the excess white from the images.  Then I punched hexagons from Basic Black cardstock and matted the stamped images on the black hexagons to frame each one.  I also punched a 1 1/2″ circle to adhere the hexagons to when creating the wheel.  It is finished off with a simple little candy dot in the center.

The DSP is from the Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper available free during Sale-a-bration.

The inside is simply stamped and embellished with a piece of DSP and cardstock for some added interest and the envelope flat is embellished with the same DSP.

It’s All About You

Happy Sunday to you.  We are finally getting a touch of spring weather in PA and it feels so nice.

Today I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

FMS Final 224-001

It is such a simple and straightforward sketch that it was actually a little difficult for me.  What threw me was the large open space.  This sketch spoke clean and simple to me and that really is not my strong suit.  Here is what I came up with.

Watermarked Photo 1 (2016-02-21-1023)

I stamped the flower image from the Sale-a-bration set, What I Love, in Versa-Mark and heat embossed with Black embossing powder.  The sentiment is from the Birthday Blossoms stamp set and is inked in Basic Black. The embossing is actually just enough to allow these flowers to stand out.

Watermarked Photo 2 (2016-02-21-1023)

Once I figured out the image, the rest of this card came together super fast and easy.  The Basic Black 3/8″ Satin Ribbon is the finishing touch.

Watermarked Photo 3 (2016-02-21-1023)   Watermarked Photo 4 (2016-02-21-1024)

The inside sentiment is also from the Birthday Blossoms set.  I accented the inside and the envelope flap with the same flower inked in Mint Macaron to match the cardstock on the front.

Once I stopped trying to over-think this card, it really came together rather quickly. Thanks so much for checking in today and I hope you have a little touch of spring in your day.

Awesomely Artistic in Perfectly Purple

Happy Saturday!  There is something about a mild spring-like Saturday in late winter that is so uplifting and energizing.  Although I did use some of that energy on a few household chores, the uplift came from creating this card for the Stamp, Ink, Paper sketch challenge.

SIP-Sketch-Challenge-35-800-768x994

I have been really loving the Awesomely Artistic stamp set lately.  I’m not sure what took me so long to give this set a work out but I can see so many possibilities…

Watermarked Photo 1 (2016-02-20-1339)-2

I recently used the flowers on another card here.  This time however, I decided to color and snip them to create a more dimensional image.  I used markers to color the flowers and leaves and then used a little Dazzling Details in the center.  The dragonfly was stamped on Vellum in Versa-Mark and heat embossed using Iridescent embossing powder.

Watermarked Photo 3 (2016-02-20-1340)

The embossing folder I used is from another company, but I thought it was the perfect background for this card.  The sentiment is from A Dozen Thoughts stamp set and the frame around it is also from Awesomely Artistic and is stamped in Wisteria Wonder. I should mention that  added two candy dots in the same color to the frame. The frame is easily cut using a die from the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits.  I added Wisteria Wonder 1/2″ seam binding behind the flowers.

Watermarked Photo 6 (2016-02-20-1342)

The inside sentiment is from the Cottage Greetings stamp set.  The font in this set is so feminine and pretty.

Watermarked Photo 4 (2016-02-20-1341)   Watermarked Photo 5 (2016-02-20-1341)

I did something a little different to the envelope flap.  It is embossed with the same folder I used on the card and then stamped the front to match the inside of the card.  I do like how everything coordinates.

I hope you enjoyed this project and perhaps it gave you a little “spring” lift as it did for me.  Please stop by again soon.
