French Country Thank You – TTTC #193

I’m making my debut as part of the Tic Tac Toe Challenge Design Team with today’s French Country vintage thank you card.  Like most paper crafters, I have a large array of patterned paper from a variety of companies.  The patterns on this card are from the French Country collection by Graphic 45.  I love Graphic 45 papers for their uniquely coordinated designs.  I let the paper do most (almost all) the work here with some help from a large tag die and my scissors.  I hand cut the rooster design and added a black hand cut mat.  The sentiment is from the Good Morning, Magnolia (retired SU) stamp set.  I heat embossed it and again hand cut it and a mat.   Both the rooster and the sentiment are popped up with dimensionals.

HERE’S the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #193 board.  Be sure to stop by to see all the Design Team inspiration.  I hope you’ll play along with us!

I chose the middle column down:  Flowers, Vintage, Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by today…the weekend’s almost here!!

Take care,

Rosanne

Happy Heart Day for CC2C

Welcome to another CASEing Coast to Coast stamping adventure and the first of 2023.  Karen Hallam in CA and myself, here in PA, have been enjoying our virtual monthly get-together for several years and are looking forward to another one.  This month it was Karen’s turn to choose our direction and she (appropriately) chose a Valentine’s Day theme.  HERE’S Karen’s uniquely creative card…I love the non-traditional colors which gives it such a modern look.

I already knew the card layout I wanted to make.  So that made choosing the stamps and papers a little easier.  Looking through my stash, I kept coming back to the Meant to Be stamp set & Be Mine Stitched dies (ret. SU) along with the retired Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper.  The stamps and dies are definitely keepers.

Materials & Measurements

  • Cardbase:  Real Red cardstock cut at 4 1/4″ x 7″, scored at 1 1/2″ & DSP panel cut at 4 1/8″ x 1 3/8″
  • Front bottom:  Real Red cardstock cut at 4 1/4″ x 2 1/2″ & DSP panel cut at 4 1/8″ x 2 3/8″
  • Front panel:  Real Red cardstock, cut at 4″ x 2″ & Basic White cardstock cut at 3 7/8″ x 1 7/8″ embossed
  • Inside panel:  Basic White cardstock cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″

Details

  • Adhere DSP to the top panel of card front and to the bottom panel.
  • Adhere the embossed panel to the rectangular Real Red panel.
  • Position the embossed panel unto the top panel and glue.
  • Line the bottom panel up with the bottom of the card.
  • Glue the bottom of the rectangular panel onto the bottom panel to bridge the top and bottom of the card.
  • Using the Be Mine Stitched dies, cut one stitched scallop heart from Real Red cardstock and one from Basic White cardstock.
  • Glue the Real Red scalloped heart to the left side of the embossed panel.
  • I stamped the sentiment from the Arrange a Wreath stamp set on the solid white heart and gluing only the left side and inserted in the heart frame.
  • To embellish the heart, I cut a flower from the DSP and added a small pearl.

  • The inside sentiment is from the Ribbon of Courage stamp set and was the perfect Valentine sentiment.
  • A few strips of DSP/cardstock added to the bottom and another hand cut flower added just enough “pretty”.

  • I also added another subtle embellishment to the envelope front to tie everything together!

Now I would be remiss if I didn’t give credit to my stamping friend, Mary Anne Schnettegoecke for the card layout.  Mary Anne sent me this adorable Christmas card and I absolutely loved it.  After the holidays, it immediately went on my desk just waiting for the right opportunity to use it…and here it is!

Thanks for taking another cross country stamping adventure with Karen and I.  If you haven’t already been out West, please visit Karen’s blog HERE for all the details of her awesomely colorful Valentine Card.

I hope your week is going well.  I’ll be back tomorrow with my first card as a Design Team member for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  I hope you’ll check out the challenge.

Take care,

Rosanne

Sparkling Winter Wishes – TTTC #192

Have you made many or any New Year’s Resolutions?  I always make (and break) a few each year.  This year one of mine is to be more intentional.  I’ve never chosen a word for the year but this year I’ve chosen “intentional”.  By this, I mean that I want to slow down and give more meaning to the things I’m doing or even thinking about doing.  Now that I’m retired, I find myself wanting to do more than is possible and this is causing stress and frustration.  So, I’m trying to be more selective and intentional, even in my crafting.  I’m going to be creating cards and projects with the intention of actually gifting and sending them.  While the creative process is fun and relaxing, what good are the results if they’re just sitting on a shelf?  So after all this rambling, I’m sharing a card I created to give to my elderly next door neighbor.

It’s difficult to see in the photo but there is a lot of pretty sparkle on this card.  The centerpiece is actually called Sparkling Mandala (Spellbinders).  The sentiment is from the Tagged Elegance stamp set (The Greetery) and is heat embossed in Pool Party embossing powder (retired SU).  I also used some silver metallic embroidery floss and stitched part of the Mandala.  I love stitching dies as they marry my two favorite hobbies:  card making and cross stitching.  The embossed panel is Dainty Diamonds embossing folder (SU).

The inside sentiment is from the Happy Thoughts (SU) stamp set.

I’m so happy and excited to be joining the Tic Tac Toe Challenge Design Team.  I’ll be joining Team O.  However, I’m playing along with Team X’s challenge board HERE.

I chose diagonally: Embossing, Free, Stitching

As always, thanks for stopping by today.

Take care,

Rosanne

Fabulous “40” Birthday

I’m sharing a card I created for my oldest daughter, Elizabeth’s, big birthday.   It’s hard to believe that one of my children could actually be 40 already!  I know I’m aging but I don’t think of them as doing the same.  Nonetheless, here we are!

Again, I reached into my stash to put together a special slimline card for a special girl on her special day!  Most products on this card are retired Stampin’ Up!  I stamped, heat embossed and hand cut the flowers and leaves from the Delicate Dahlias stamp set. They’re colored using Stampin’ Blends.  I think they make a very pretty statement against black and white patterned paper (also SU).  The sentiment is from the Dressed to Impress stamp set and also heat embossed and hand cut.  The numbers are from a die set in my stash.  I cut 3 sets out in white card stock and 1 set in white glitter paper and glued them together for some sparkle and dimension.

I hope the New Year is off to a good start for you.  Thanks very much for stopping by today.

Take care,

Rosanne
