Heartfelt Kindness with Regency Park – Pals Blog Hop

This month, our blog hop team made projects to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week, which is February 14-20! We hope you will be inspired by all the beautiful creations the Pals made for you! As you hop from blog to blog, we would love for you to leave a comment. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Stampin Up Regency Park Friendship Card

I’m so happy to be back “hopping” with the Pals again!  For today’s project, I created a mini slimline friendship card with a custom-sized envelope. You can see my slimline envelope tutorial HERE. This layout could be used for so many different occasions.  The color and pattern combinations are absolutely endless.  You can quickly turn this into a Valentine card for this time of year.

Let me tell you how…

Materials & Measurements

  • Basic White card base: cut at 6″ x 7″, scored at 3 1/2″ to create a mini slime measuring 6″ x 3 1/2″
  • Regency Park Designer Series Paper Pattern:  cut at 5 7/8″ x 3 3/8″
  • Basic White center panel:  cut at 2 1/2″ x 5 7/8″
  • Balmy Blue card stock (strips): cut at 1/8″ x 5 7/8″
  • Night of Navy and Regency Park DSP to punch hearts

Details

  • Adhere the DSP panel to the front of the card base.  Then center the Basic White panel in the middle and glue.  Add the Balmy Blue strips to either side of the white panel.
  • Using the Heart Punch Pack, punch three scalloped hearts from Night of Navy card stock and three  straight hearts in a variety of DSP in coordinating colors.  Glue down the center of the white panel.
  • Cut the label from the Pretty Pillow dies in white and Night of Navy card stock.
  • Stamp the sentiment, from the Country Bouquet stamp set onto the white label in Night of Navy ink.
  • Cut each end from the Navy label and glue to each end of the white label to give it a pretty border.
  • Lastly, add a coordinating embellishment to the label.  I used an Adhesive-backed Milky Dot in Navy.

Here’s a peek inside…the sentiment  is also from the Country Bouquet stamp set.

Since our theme is Random Acts of Kindness, I thought a little treat would be nice to go along with the card.

  • I decorated a white Peek-a-Boo Treat Bag and added six wrapped Hershey Nuggets.
  • I shortened the same label I used on the card to fit the smaller sentiment.

I remember when every hardcore stamper always had a supply of Hershey Nuggets on hand.  I actually had to go out and buy some for this project.  But now that their in the craft room, I’ll need to make more projects so I don’t end up eating them all!

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on March 8th, when our theme will be Party Time, showcasing cards/projects that celebrate our family and friends.

Until then, have fun in your craft space.

Plentiful Plants Encouragement Card

Welcome to a new week!  I hope you had a nice weekend.  Ours was really cold and windy!  But we did get to spend the day on Saturday with our two grandsons which is always such a treat!

I’ve been really re-energized since re-joining Stampin’ Up! and have been creating a lot.  Today’s card is for a good friend who just had knee surgery and is not having a smooth recovery.  She, like me, enjoys plants both inside and outside.   I kept the colors soft and subtle to give a calming effect but also wanting to lift her spirits.  I hope it does both.  Isn’t it pretty wonderful that we can tailor our cards for just the right occasion!

Plentiful Plants stamps and the Perfect Plants dies have been a favorite of mine since they came out several catalogs ago.  The background is stenciled using a mask from the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks.  I think these are hidden gems in the Annual Catalog and such a value.  If you like to stencil, these are a must…IMHO!

Materials & Measurement

  • Basic White card base:  8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Smoky Slate panel: cut at 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
  • Stenciled panel:  5 1/4″ x 4″

Details

  • Stencil the lattice background using a mask from the Artistic Mix Decorative Mask on Basic White cardstock in Smoky Slate ink.
  • Adhere to the Smoky Slate panel and then glue both to the card base.
  • Stamp a variety of plants from the Plentiful Plants stamp set in a variety of green inks.  Cut using the Perfect Plants dies.
  • The pots are cut from a few patterns from the Textured Chic Designer Series Paper.  Who doesn’t like a plant in a pretty pot!
  • I embossed a piece of Basic Gray cardstock with a woodgrain embossing folder and cut it to look like a shelf.
  • The sentiment is from another plant based stamp set:  Forever Fern.  It’s hand-cut with a hand-cut mat.
  • Lastly, stenciling the envelope flap was an easy way to coordinate it with the card.

I know this set has been around for a while but for me it still has so much life left.  It will always be one of my all-time favorites!

Grateful for Butterfly Kisses – #TTTC195

It’s time for another Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  This week Karen created a fun board for us to gather inspiration.  This board is full of fun elements to choose from.

I took my inspiration from the first column down: Die Cuts, Layers, Butterfly.

January has been a looong month here in PA and we haven’t even had any snow…yet!  And Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today predicting 6 more weeks of winter.  Not sure what he knows!! So to battle the winter doldrums, I’m pulling out the Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Paper and making some happy cards.  The flower and butterfly patterns in this collection are so bright and cheerful.

Materials & Measurements

  • Basic White thick card base: cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Butterfly Kisses DSP pattern: cut at 5 3/8 x 4 1/8″ and 4″ x 2 1/2″
  • Basic Black panel:  cut using the 2nd largest Rectangle Stitched die
  • Basic White panel: cut using the 3rd largest Rectangle Stitched die
  • Sentiment strips:  Fresh Freesia & Basic White cut with Rectangle Stitched dies

Details

  • Adhere the larger DSP cut to the card base.
  • I used the butterfly die from the Designer Tags dies and randomly cut three from the white Rectangle Stitched panel.  Save the intricate butterfly die cuts for another project or you could color them and use them on this project (which I did not).
  • Then glue the 4″ x 2 1/2″ DSP panel to the underside to fill the open butterfly area.
  • Next glue that panel to the black Rectangle Stitched panel.
  • Here’s a visual on how I put these panels together.

  • Adhere the butterfly panel to the card base.
  • Cut three more butterflies from:  Fresh Freesia, Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral cardstock (or if you colored the white ones, you can skip this step) and add glue to just the center to adhere to each butterfly opening.  Fluff up the wings a little for some dimension.
  • I colored some pearls using a black sharpie to add to the butterfly body.
  • I stamped the sentiment from the Cottage Wreath stamp set onto the small white rectangle and layered it on the Fresh Freesia rectangle.  Glue this to the front of the butterfly panel.
  • I added a few embellishments from my stash to the sentiment panel.

I hope you’ll hop over to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge to see the wonderful projects by the team.  And while you’re over there, we would love for you to add your project, too!

Thanks for coming by today.  I hope you’re looking forward to a relaxing weekend.  We’re spending Saturday with our two grandsons, which is always a highlight to my week!

Take care,

Rosanne

Details

  • Layer the Petal Pink panel and pattern from Awash in Beauty DSP onto the Smoky Slate card base.
  • Stamp the sentiment from Plentiful Plants stamp set onto the Petal Pink strip and adhere to the Smoky Slate strip.
  • Position the sentiment strip and glue the scalloped die from the Painted Labels dies.  This little die was just the perfect embellishment to underscore the sentiment.
  • Stamp, color and cut the floral image using the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set and Penned Flowers dies.  I used Petal Pink, Balmy Blue and Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends.
  • Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  • Lastly, I added a few retired balmy blue adhesive sequins.

I’m excited to say that I’ve re-joined Stampin’ Up! as a demonstrator.  I’ve been creating with Stampin’ Up! products since attending my first workshop in 2000 and truly missed being a demonstrator. My goal is to demonstrate how to creatively and economically use your stamps, dies and paper.  Stampin’ Up!’s product coordination makes this easy and oh so satisfying.  I hope that you’ll find lots of ideas and inspiration here.

As always, I appreciate your stopping by today.

Take care,

Rosanne
