It’s Game On…for CC2C

Once again, it’s that time of the month for Karen Hallam, in California and myself, in Pennsylvania to criss cross the country to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) our cards.  This month Karen chose the theme:  a masculine card.  Karen created this awesome card for her gardener husband’s birthday.  You can see all the details HERE. I’m sure he’s going to love it!

This type of card is one that’s not necessarily in my comfort zone, partly because I really don’t have a need for many of these.  We are a girl majority family for sure.  Although I now have two small grandsons, so I better get my GAME ON!

I pulled out the retired SU Game On stamp set and paired it with two patterns from the also retired Pattern Play DSP for today’s masculine birthday card.  I think this set is unique and fun. It’s one that I’ll keep and use for a long time.

Here’s a peek inside.  Besides the bottom sentiment that’s also from the Game On set, I used a sentiment from the SU Happy Thoughts stamp set.

The layout for my card was inspired by the Retro Rubber Challenge #180.

…And the color inspiration is from the Just For Girls Color Week Challenge

Thanks very much for cross the country this month with Karen and I.  I hope your week is going well!

Big, Beautiful Butterfly for Mother’s Day

Hello!  Did I say BIG…yes I did.  Spellbinder’s Card Creator Bibi’s Butterfly dies create a big, beautifully shaped card. I was so excited to use this and cannot wait to create more (and more) cards with it.

After using the largest die to create the card in Soft Sea Foam card stock, I cut the the next butterfly die in white card stock and embossed it using Spellbinder’s Garden Path embossing folder.

I cut a lot of the flowers and leaves from white card stock and sponged them using Distress Oxide inks before assembling on the butterfly.  The sentiment banner is stamped with a sentiment from my stash and heat embossed.

The inside sentiment is from SU’s Happy Thoughts stamp set.

I’m playing along with the Tic Tac Toe #157 Challenge

I chose the first column down:  Butterfly, Floral Bouquet, Background Stamp/Die

…And the Sunday Stamps Color Challenge

Again, thanks very much for checking in.  I appreciate it!

A Friend like Gnome One Else

I’m having a great time pulling out some fun stamp sets that haven’t gotten nearly enough play.  Today’s set is definitely one of them: MFT’s You Gnome Me. I know there have been so many newer gnome sets since this set was released but there’s just something about these little guys that make me smile…hope they make you smile too!  Not to mention, that they’re really fun to color too.

I followed the sketch challenge over at My Favorite Things for today’s card inspiration…

As always, thanks for taking some time to check in today,

Rosanne

Celebrate, Celebrate, Celebrate…

I guess the message on today’s card is quite apparent!  This card was a lot of fun to make. It’s a mini slimline that measures 6 1/2 x 3 1/2. I embossed the front panel using a polka dot embossing folder from my stash.  I pulled out the retired SU stamp set:  Calligraphy Essentials and stamped “celebrate” in black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  They’re cut using the Scan n’ Cut. I also cut a black shadow.  Each word is colored using copic markers.  I glued the first three words from the top down and the last two from the bottom up, leaving a space for the small die cut sentiment.  This sentiment is from MFT’s Itty Bitty Birthday Sentiments and cut from MFT’s Itty Bitty Strips.  It’s also heat embossed.

The inside sentiment is from an older CTMH set.  I really like to mix of fonts.

I’m playing along with the As You See It Challenge #272

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week ahead.
